Brook just announced it, along with the least amount of fan fare possible.Bummer that Mondays were dropped by CBS. It's a shame that this show doesn't get more attention. It is one of the few reality shows that I like. (Yes it's all about me!
Hi cheesybread, I tuned in 9 minutes late. Did anyone get a solo at the start?![]()
Sorry I missed the beginning too. I just saw the tail end of Brandon's performance, plus tara and ty's.Tara looked deflated and defeated. I guess it wasn't entirely surprising, though.
Shoot! And to miss Jordis of all things! I did notice that Tara looked like the noose was dropping before the announcement. But bottom 3 for 3, she probably knew it was coming.

Jordis earned the solo. And the "behind the scenes" look that was formerly on Monday will be on VH1 on Sunday 8/7 Central.

Jordis did a solo at the start, and she was great again.

Why did the chicken cross the road? It was poultry in motion.
I thought that she didn't fair too well compared to yesterday. She was even more chocked up. I think her emotions tonight effect4ed her performace. Her voice was very shaly in points. She actually had tears tonight and had to wipe them away during the performance.
LAST EDITED ON 08-03-05 AT 10:47 PM (EST)Here's an article from Zap2it.com. Little good news, VH1 will also be re-airing the Tues & Wed shows on Saturdays ...
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) CBS is getting rid of an excess of INXS.
The network is shipping the Monday episode of "Rock Star: INXS" -- one of three weekly installments that have been airing on CBS -- to Viacom sibling VH1. Starting this week (Aug. 7), the cable network will air the show, a "Real World"-like half-hour that follows the contestants in their Hollywood house, at 8 p.m. ET Sundays.CBS will continue to air the Tuesday performance shows, which have been drawing the best ratings of the three weekly episodes, and the Wednesday results shows.
"Rock Star" aims to find a new singer for INXS, which has been without a full-time frontman since Michael Hutchence's death in 1997. Produced by "Survivor" and "Apprentice" guru Mark Burnett, the show has delivered only modest ratings in its three-plus weeks on the air.
The Tuesday episodes, which have "Big Brother 6" as a lead-in, have delivered a not-terrible-for-summer 6.1 million viewers per week (although they've been losing roughly a quarter of their lead-in audience). The Wednesday shows have actually been the weakest link, drawing only 4.1 million people each week, compared to 5.5 million for the Monday installments.Moving the results shows, though, wouldn't make much sense from a programming standpoint, forcing those who care to seek out a different network to discover how the audience voted the previous night. Moving the Monday shows to VH1 will also let CBS plug in what's almost sure to be a higher-rated repeat of one of its comedies into the 9:30 p.m. ET spot.
As part of the agreement with CBS, VH1 will repeat the Tuesday and Wednesday "Rock Star" episodes on Saturdays, beginning Aug. 13.
What I can't figure out, is why there aren't more people watching. American Idol sucks compared to this show. I was hooked from the start on Rock Star. I admit, we have to tape Mondays and Tuesdays, because my husband goes to bed early for work and I'm not allowed to watch it without him, lol. But the Tivo's and cable company DVRs go toward the tally, right?*shrug* I agree, it's best reality show on right now. I don't get it.
i agree with you. this is better than AI. AI just has all the fanfare.
I agree that this is heads & shoulders above AI, however, kids don't know who INXS is. Young kids watch AI as much for the fasion trends & cutesy stuff as the do the competition. I don't think the valuable tween & teen audience cares much about INXS. Plus, on summer evenings, those kids are out doing things with friends. The 20-40 something demographic that's watching this show isn't the most powerful, unfortunately.

CBS sux. As I posted elsewhere, I don't understand where they get their numbers. I really love the Mon night ep of the day after, the clinic, song pix, etc. I wish it would be an hour. It's interesting to watch talented artists work it out.I think CBS failed in marketing this show & it's their fault if it's not doing well. It is leaps & bounds better than Idol -- much better talent & a better elimination process.
I'll be watching Sun nights on VH1 & they better not cancel it out altogether.

>I usually can't stand watching sitcoms, so it was ridiculous to match the Monday show with a half hour sitcom. Hell's Kitchen was on at the same time up 'til now on Mondays. I always taped the half hour Rock Star and watched it the next day. Maybe now that there are fewer cntestants, they could include a little of the preshow in with the performances?

>YES! You are so right. Jamming this in amongst their comedy re-runs was wierd. Yeah, I found it, but I'm obsessive like that. They marketed it as existing, but didn't really say days and times. Just, "Rock Star: INXS, watch it!" or some such crap. Hmm. You know what would be good, though, is now that it's on V-H1, maybe they could make it an hour long, show more of the process. Isn't that network sort of program-free? I don't watch it. HEY, CBS, NOW I DON'T HAVE A REASON TO TURN ON THE TV ON MONDAYS. AT ALL. Jackhole Bloviators!
I never watched the Monday show. I figured it was all fluff.I do love the show and think it is one of the best new shows on.
What amazes me is that the singers know all of the INXS songs (but I guess they have to since that's the Job).
It would be kinda funny for this to happen:
INXS: Tara, you will be singing Beautiful Child
TARA: Uhhh, I don't know that song.
INXS: C-YAOh wait, same outcome anyway.

"What amazes me is that the singers know all of the INXS songs (but I guess they have to since that's the Job)."I have never heard them say it, but I assume that they give the contestants the three songs that will be assigned during the results show to learn before that show is taped. I just inferred that by JD's little, "While everyone else is learning the songs, I already know them, cause I love them, " comment.
>Brook just announced it, along with

I didn't even hear her announcement, because I hit MUTE when her mouth starts moving. Her monotonal yelling is really irritating.
I agree that Rock Star is soooooooooo much better than American Idol. There is no comparision. What is wrong with people??? I also agree that a lot of young kids are into American Idol who probably do not know INXS BUT do they know Barry Manilow and show tunes from the 40's that the contestants on AI sing? Rock Star got a big build up before it began but I seldom see it advertised anymore. CBS had better get on the ball! It just seems that whenever a show comes on that I really LOVE, it never lasts long. Maybe it's me.....
Just reading these posts, it seems there are many tuning in. I read one talking of how many people in Canada are watching. Is CBS taking that Country in account? Also, last night on Leno I was flipping through & caught Hank Azaria talking about how great the show is -- so much talent, etc. Then he, of course, made fun of aging rockers like INXS and the "You're just not right for our band, INXS" phrase used.
With all the garbage still on t.v., why isn't this show getting the recognition by CBS it deserves?? Idiots!!
I'm looking forward to the weeks to come & hearing the remaining rockers sing longer versions of their songs. CBS better not cut it before the season was intended to run.
Sorry, people, I needed to rant and get this off my chest.

I do not get VH1. But looking at the Canadian listings it looks like most of the Canadian stations are going to continue to air it on Monday's on the usual stations.
Oh goody. I just watched for the first time this week. Oh My Heck...this show is soooooo great! How have I missed it. I will definitely watch everything I can get from now on.
