"oh my Ty, then...."

Ty’s performance gave me extreme clarity tonight…no, not like that (shame on you).

I couldn’t put my finger on why -- but Ty, and others-- showed me why I really love this show. Then it occurred to me --they remind me of a few of staff in a company (INXS) trying to reinvent itself.

JD (MIG)……Jr. Partner…Young Turk…. Starts out with a bang.. Just different enough, just cute enough…. Does everything with panache. Burns hot and bright early, then goes one step too far, makes us re-examine their true skill/talent. Then it’s “bring in the assistants, interns and family!’ for tears and heart tugs. Maybe they find their stride, maybe not. Sad, but good TV.

Ty (Jordis, Daphna)The truly skilled/talented that took the job because of the exposure--knowing that the reality is they'll *never* be fast tracked to stardom. Talented, professional, versatile. But deep down inside, knows that they will never get the real job, and, therefore, have nothing to lose by pulling out all the stops, and risking scorn in the process. The hair, outfits, smirk/sneer. Brave (kinda).

Marty’s (Brandon)performance tonight gave me the glow I get when I see real promise. He can give a solid performance, per the job specs, and excel when needed, with the just right amount of spunk. You want to keep him around and groom him. Strong.

The others are in the staff meeting, showing various unreadable (wild card) expressions that may change everything. I may be opening a can of worms, but my honey tells me that this is safer that my first thought; which performer would score which product endorsements (again..shame on you).
