"An Alterna-Supergroup?"

Did anyelse catch the VH1: Rock Honors show last night on MHD? There was a KISS tribute song performed by Tommy Lee, Gilby Clark, Slash, Scott Ian, Rob Zombie, and special guest Ace Freely.

It was a sight to behold.

And truth be told, they sounded pretty good. What was funny was I couldn't help but think, "Wow, Gilby does sound better with Slash in front of him!" But then again, I'm sure I would sound better with Slash in front of me and I can't play a lick!

Well, the fact that it honored KISS would be enough to keep me away from it. LOL!

Worst.band.ever.

With KISS...it's not about the songs or the singing...it's really about the stage presence. They could perform and blow your mind and even the non-KISS fans would be swept away in the moment..that is what I think defines them.

Isn't that what happend in that brief time when they tried to play without the makeup and outfits? Everyone said, wow these guys kinda suck. Then they went back to the crazy outfits and for some reason the fans came back.

That's because there's a sucker born every minute.

KISS sucks regardless of their stage show. I've seen it. I was not impressed. Spitting blood could not distract me from the horrible songs and musicianship.

I didn't know that it was a tribute to KISS at the time. Actually when I first turned it on, Def Leppard was playing. Wow, Joe Elliot's voice is shot! If there is one way to get Lukas to take care of his voice have him listen to both Axl Rose and Joe Elliot sing now. It's just gone.

Kiss did play and they were, well, Kiss. But the collection of rockers who played before them that I mentioned was suprisingly good.
