and out when he heard about the auditions, was broke and even begging for money, he had nothing to lose. He was a huge fan of inx and learned how to play the gutiar practicing "Devil Inside" from INXS "Kick" CD. Would explain his comment about knowing and loving the songs, not (Just)learning the lyrics, like the others.
Bad judgement? It seemed like it was like saying that the sky is blue today, factual not meant to hurt the others, just the truth.

He said that he had the worst audition to get on the show, he was on the same key as the music, that he told the people there have you ever had a day that was like your worst nightmare. He left and walked out to his car when the producer tapped his shoulder and asked him to come back tomorrow and try again. (whew)he did well enough to make it to prime time.

does anyone have anymore information about the others? Who is going to go next week?

"JD's Comments"

Others were offended. Why? Just like you say tamglam...he was calling it like it is. The sky is blue!

Did anyone else read the bios of the musicians on CBS? Each contestent is asked to list their influences. Only ONE listed INXS. Guess who? You guessed right. It was JD. JD was the only one to even mention INXS.

It amazes me how stupid the other contestents are. If you go on a job interview. You tell the company you are prospecting with that, their job is your dream job. You are supposed to express your strong desire to work for them. The other 14 singers were morons for not listing INXS as one of their favorite bands. And because JD really WANTS to work for INXS not any popular rock band...he should not be criticized for telling it like it is.

I am routing for JD. Not only does he have the talent but he has the desire to not just be in any band, but.....INXS.

You said it, Wacko!! I double that.

Even if it is true there is no reason that he had to say it the way he said it. He could just as well have left the comment out about what the other contestants did and didn't know. All he had to say was, "I'm focused because you are my favorite band. I know your songs because I love them." But no, he had to dis 14 other people. And, may I say, with that many other people, I seriously doubt whether he knew what or who everyone liked or didn't like, despite what they said in their bios.

The sky is blue? Please. His comment was NOT objective nor was it meant to be.

When you go on a job interview you are supposed to list reasons why you are the best for the job. If JD is the only one who has passion for INXS, he would be stupid not to express it to INXS who is doing the interviewing. I applaud him for saying that and to say it obvisiously struck a chord with the others because it is true. They are mad that JD was able with those comments set himself above the others. They know it and to be mad about is natural.

That being said just because JD is the only INXS fan of the bunch does not mean that he will win. Bands have been known to pick musicians who have no prior knowledge of their work. But at least INXS knows JD's passion and this should be a plus not a negative.

As for knowing their musical interests, the show is live. If JD was doing his homework he would use the website to his advantage. I would not doubt he researched his other competition. If I had the opportunity to...I'd do the same thing.

It was just point blank unnecessary to do it. He is talented and he was already a favorite. He shouldn't push his luck. It could come back to bite him in the ass. He hasn't had to sing an INXS song yet, so we'll see if he puts his money where his mouth is.

I have only seen the last two shows. So let me ask, do the contestents have any interaction with INXS outside of the performance judging situations?

If that is the only time they get to communication with INXS then I do not see what JD did as wrong. It's JD's only opportunity to show that he is the best for the position. If he had access to information on all the other contestents and noticed they were not big fans of INXS this is his only opportunity to say this. He came right out and said 'I am the best for the job because I am passionate about your music and the others are not as passionate as me'. Now if he had that opportunity with the other contestents not there that is one thing, but if this is his only chance to express an advantage he has over the others and he does not do it .....I feel that would be JD's mistake.

We are entitled to disagree. All I know is if I had any information about my competition on an interview I am going to state why I am the best for the job and if I have to express others weaknesses....I would do it. JD unfortunately had to do it in front of the others....who he lives with.

Not that I've seen.

But it's going to be his performance that they judge him the most on. If I were a judge, I would question why he was dissing the others as he was praising INXS, especially since INXS already likes him. He's a front runner right now. It's like he was trying to defend a position that no one was challenging. It smacks of insecurity and points to a weakness in his character. I'd question his motives and be a little wary about whether or not I'd want him in the band.

I wasn't excited when I heard JD make the comments, but only because I knew it would become a big deal. Even with the editing it seemed like even the rockers were having a hard time staying with their anger, JD was speaking the truth, and they knew it.
He KNOWS the music and is fighting to be a memember of his favorite band.

Behind the scenes at the house and the fight are the only part of the show that seemed staged (egged on). I liked this show because they were keeping the drama out, I am hoping they are not encouraging DRAMATIC events to help boost sluggish summer ratings). They could of left JD's comments alone and it would of helped the rockers more..not getting feedback from the band and Dave.
This isn't about luck,it is about passion, and dreams coming true. All the rockers are incredibly talented but who has the most passion, desire and talent to play with INXS?

Every one of the rockers know who it is...it's JD. Passion is why he made the comments that he did, he is a fan standing in front of a band that he taught himself how to play the guitar playing "devil Inside" (INXS). What do Fans do? How do they act, what do they say? Do they talk about how THEY are thier biggest fan?
JD acts like a fan. He dosent banter with the INXS like he is an old friend, he is respectful and makes ajustments everytime the band has constructive feedback. He REALLY listens and believes in them. JD is hungry and he has raised the level of competition.
The best song on the show so far has been California Dreamin by JD.

I predict that other rockers will start to personalize and talk about how much they want to front the band, how much they love InXs etc.
I think the only other rockers that have a chance are Mig first and then Marty.

I don't think they have internet access in the mansion. Yeah, they do their blogs, but because the blog page says it's "in their own words," I think they speak into a tape recorder and someone else types it onto the website.

I know they have no tv or radio, because MiG didn't know about the 2nd wave of bombings in London until he spoke with his wife (who is in London) on the phone.

I think they are just cloistered in their little Rockstar World, the better to focus on what they are doing.

You nailed it Wacko! And like you, I want to see JD go all the way to fronting the band.
What a great story and a dream come true, I love it and I love JD already. He gained my respect when he didn't waffle on what he said to Dave and the band. It really looked bad to see the other rockers sitting around sniveling about it.
The sky is blue.
Can't wait until next week.

Still with you, Jacko. I don't think J.D. was meaning his comment as a dis to the other contestants. I think he has every right to say it & I applaud him for speaking his mind.

Who knows what is said behind closed doors? I am sure some of the contenstants have spoken of not being fans or knowing much of INXS, because they are into harder rock, southern rock and so forth. If I was J.D. I would be frustrated and annoyed if others didn't take it as seriously as he does. At least he puts it out there in the open, rather than sneaky backstabbing.

I also have to mention, as we all know, the majority of the people who are on "reality" tv are there for exposure and not really there for what the show is intending. So, why shouldn't he lay the truth out there & his feelings on the line?? He is there because he loves INXS and he really, really wants to win to front INXS.

GO J.D.!!

I would bet he was cast because (beyond his vocal talent) he wasn't afraid to speak up & explain that he was having a sucky day. It showed he had personality & could talk to the cameras & band without showing fear.

ETA: And he probably played up his INXS passion. Producers knew that could flare at some point.

I think so too.

We can't forget that this is a Mark Burnett show. They were cast for their talent, but also for their personalities
