Is from where I live. (yeah I live in the Twin Cities)And all sorts of peeps are calling radio stations saying that they *know* Jordis, they are close personal friends etc.

Don't know if I believe them....all I know is she is amazing. And *I* am not close personal friend of hers.

Would like to become a close personal friend of hers! I'm from the midwest too, so us midwesterners gotta stick together. Plus the fact that she's totally hot and has a fantastic voice doesn’t hurt either

She don't stand a chance. She's got two major strikes.

First off she is female.
Secondly she is the youngest of all the contestents at only 22.

I think she has a nice voice and really should've been on American Idol over this show. She could win that from what I see.

I don't see her age as prohibitive at all. She seems quite mature, vocally & personally.

I have to agree with her being female will eliminate her and the other females. Inxs has always been a male band. But to be honest, I think they are done and were done with Michael took his life. When he took his life he took the band with him. HE WAS INXS!

I was out of town, so just watched it back last night. Jordis has risen to be one of my favorites. She was great.

Okay, I was bored the other day and had an hour or two to kill. So I did some internet stalking of Jordis and came up with a couple of useful links.

First, if your on an old carpy puter like me and can’t download songs/video on the MSN site without having to download a bunch of software that might not even work in the end, this message board site has MP3 files that even this 7 year puter could download ...

And here’s a link to the band Jordis was or still in be for going on Rock Star ...

An unpopular opinion...

I'm probably the only one in the universe, but I'm just not all that thrilled about Jordis.

She is undeniably the best female singer in the house, I'm just not seeing all the charisma that others are talking about.

To me, it seems like she either is or is trying to be the "dark girl", which obviously works sometimes, but gets dull when it's all the time.

AND, when she did the more up song last week, her energy seemed down to me -- it seemed like she was being "dark-girl-sings-up-tempo-rock-classic."

Go ahead & be creepy and intense when you sing Nirvana, etc...but you've got to be able to let rip with the energy too.

That being said, she's got alot more presence that most AI contestents (*choke* Carrie *cough*) -- just not as much as most of the RSINXS contestants.

I can see where you are coming from, however, I perceive it a little differently. She isn't showy or theatrical in her stage presence. That can be a plus or minus, depending on who you ask. Her looks and down to earth performance style make her interesting for me to watch. Could she punch up some performances a bit for INXS's sake? Yeah, it would probably behove her to do so, but I hope she doesn't look as fake as some of the others while doing it.

>>She isn't showy or theatrical<<

I get what you're saying, and I wouldn't want to see her get more "theatrical" -- but I do want to see her give more...something.

As for the whole theatrical thing, I like to stay away from that word myself -- and this is probably more appropriate on a Ty thread, but

Ty's problem is bad acting. All singing is acting. Most of the contestants are jumping around like maniacs, and yet you believe they're feeling what they're showing us -- but Ty is "Schmacting."

Now I'm going to snap my head left, now punch up with rt arm, turn & strut down runway. Pause at end, hang head dramatically. Peer up through sweated brow, and...

He doesn't get what INXS is telling him either. He thinks it's all about him being so comfortable on stage that he makes it look easy -- but it's not. It's about him being REALLY self-aware while he's performing instead of getting lost in the moment. Someone else could do all the same moves - even planned moves - and look more 'sincere' or 'real'.
Schmacting.

Picture Jon Lovitz..."I'm ACTING!"

So anyway, I agree that I wouldn't want Jordis to head in that direction. I would like to see her sweat or something though.

Yeah, all this time Ty has been called "theatrical" and I wasn't really seeing what they were talking about. Last night, Kirk illuminated it a bit by saying that he associates vibrato with theatre. Yeah, Ty has overly choreographed his moves and he needs to loosen up. They said the same of MiG. Let's see who makes some changes.

But Jordis, well, like the song says, "Don't Change." Besides, they lo-o-o-ove huh. As is.

PS. "Schmacting" LOL! That's great.

Great job of verbalizing Ty's problem (I love the word "schmacting"!) & I do see what you are saying about Jordis. I said in another thread, that I can't wait to see her do an INXS song. I love her, but am not convinced she'd be a great front person for INXS. After I hear her sing a little INXS, then we'll see.

I agree with INXS being an all male band and am 99.9% sure that a male will win the show. Even though i don't like that. I thought the females of this show were WAY better than the males. Jordis and Deanna are the only girls who have a chance. Suzie, Tara, and Jessica have all been nominated to many times and eventually that's why INXS will eliminate them. They will say You've been up for elimination to many times and we can't have that and get rid of them. I think the only guy who is an good is Mig. I just pray to god Ty doesn't win. I can't stand him.

IMHO, a male should win the show. INXS is an all-male band, and I can't imagine a female winning, even if the female talent is above & beyond the male talent.

Just think of this though ... there would have been so much freaking out if INXS announced they wanted to do a reality-based show, but only have male contestants. They *had* to allow females a chance (if they wanted to save face and not look sexist), but there's no chance whatsoever (again, IMO) that they will actually choose a female to front them.

Time will tell, I suppose....

Fox has a show like this one that is finding the lead singer for TLC, and it only has girls. Even the title is something like "R U the Girl?" Nobody cares. Maybe that's because it's TLC, but still.

I don't think this spoils anything for anyone and if it was a true spoiler I don't think it would be on the INXS website.

In the daily diaries section Tim Farris says the following:

This week watching Jordis perform Bowie's 'Man Who Sold The World' was a mind-blowing experience and had Dave Navarro and I close to tears. She floored me.

Safe to say Jordis is safe, but that all depends on the voters....still think she is safe. Something to see tonight.

Does this mean they watch the rehearsals? Because live performance isn't for another few hours yet...

Hey, SherpaDave,

Remember, the performances that are broadcast on Tuesday for voting are actually taped (or filmed) on Sunday at 3pm.

And the "Black Wednesday" results show is done on Wednesday at 11am, which is why, when they come back to the house afterwards for the post-mortem toast & recovery, it's bright daylight.

But, yeah, I think Tim must have been so "blown away" that he may have forgotten that we haven't seen it yet!

Hmmm...given that heads up, though, I think I'll tape tonight so I can re-watch it! (Thanks, Wacko!)

Jordis is my all time FAVORITE girl for sure and maybe my favorite overall. My only problem with her is her choice of clothing. She has a definite Grunge look and I am afraid that might put them off. I am hoping she shows that she is willing to experiment with the look because looks do sell as we all know.

I don't think Jordis is a fit for INXS, but she is phenomenal. Her performance was unbelievable tonight, goosebumps & I was almost ready to tear up.

If she doesn't get a record deal following this show, I will really be upset. I am tired of people like Jessica & Ashley Simpson & Britney Spears, whose talents are not their voices, but marketing, getting record deals.

I'd rather listen to talent like Jordis!!!

"real singers"

I agree I'm fed up w/ the fake airheads. However, I grew up during the grunge era and loved INXS (went to their concerts). I think Jordis wud do best on her own, some of INXS's songs are very high energy and a little generic for Joris. I see it hindering Jordis' artistry and creativity if she does become INXS's lead singer.

Now, I wud love a guy to be the next INXS lead singer (hopefully Dave will be touring w/ em giggle). So far I'm drooling over Mig (ironically he seems to grow on me), and hmmn thinking thinking.. I'm over Brandon... JD is too weird to understand, he's inconsistent... Then the others well I forgot em so they're probably not the best for INXS.

Isn't Mig cute.. I'd love him to drill an oil rig in me.

I do not think Jordis is suited for this band. I think she is very talented and she is getting great exposure on this show. But I don't want her winning.

At this point JD is my fave for the part. I liked MiG alot at the beginning but I seem to be liking him less as the weeks go by. JD has the stage presence that I enjoy watching.

As a woman who isn't overly into female singers (they tend to sound either like smokers or little girls), I am really digging Jordis - actually, her voice. So feminine yet SO strong and individual - she does girls everywhere proud.....

That said, I think she will actually "win" if she loses the show. I think the right people have seen her and that will take her far. Sadly, INXS isn't what it used to be. I remember saving my allowance (at 12!) for the Kick tour in France. God, Michael Hutchence was so hot!!!

I think people forget that charisma and performance are co-criteria along with vocal skills for a band like that. Just b/c of the songs they do, I agree with the multitude who think that a man is the most likely winner.

Now, who? I get Marty and Brandon mixed up a lot, which speaks as to their individual charisma! Ty has a nice voice but (as noted) seems overly forced. There was something organically sexy about Hutchence, I remember (ah...). Anyway, that leaves Mig and JD. I think it'll be one of them. JD has better energy about him, while Mig is more of a workhorse and solid person. I think the final choice is between these two.

If Jordis does an acoustic session, I am so there! Hearing her sing is like eating chocolate cake - the real-time pleasure is undeniable.

I'm really into this show, but the more I watch it, the more I think they'll say at the end, "You know, NONE of you are right for our band, INXS." It's like you said--great voice + organically sexy, and nobody is measuring up to Michael. Nobody. By great voice, I mean wide range of melody, good power, ease of control & a certain breadth to it. MiG is close, and even though his voice is thin, maybe that could be brought out with coaching. But, this band can't be, must not be looking for a Micheal Clone. There's only one Michael Hutchence. Period.

That's great!

Sorry if someone posted this before, but I just stumbled across it. Jordis did Star Search! And lost in the preliminary round! Summary here.

I think they may pull a AI money grab scheme and possibly tour with say.... the top 2 finalists?
In my opinion - Jordis and JD Fortune has a lock on this as the top 2 and INxS may possibly tour with both.... maybe wishful thinking.
