In week 2, Ty's hairdo is getting old.

The back-up band would give INXS a run for their money.

Suzie does Roxanne by "The Police" She did well in a song few would dare.

Last night didn't blow me away or shock me at all. But I am starting to take a liking to Suzie !!

I think Suzie is going to surprise everyone. She started out really shaky but she rocked then INXS song last week--they loved it--and she nailed Roxanne She definitely has one of the best voices. I hope she shines.

Tara sings Paranoid by Black Sabbath. Much better than last week.

Deanna sings The One I Love by REM. She didn't really care for the song and it showed.

LAST EDITED ON 07-19-05 AT 10:53 PM (EST)

First time I watched the show.

The last dude was the best(Brandon), followed by the first dude (Marty). I thought the guy with the mohawk (Ty) was good, but could see how the other members would not want a big showboat like him as the lead singer.

By far the worst was the girl doing Jimi Hendrix. She sounded like Cher doing Jimi Hendrix. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!

She didn't even try to look like she was enjoying herself She got so caught up in being mad she had to do that song. Too bad. It hurt her performance.

She'll be in the bottom 3.

A friend and I were watching, we both noticed that the band got tougher on some of the ones they had previously praised-like Ty and Deana. Trying to point the audience in the direction they want for the finals?

My favorites didn't change after watching, but now I find I am trying to look for the edit.

The worst ones were definitely Cher doing Hendrix, "Summer of '69", 'cause Neal, who was too busy playing guitar, while totally singing off key, and CountryGirl singing "Paranoid", just can't see her in INXS.

It's REALLY obvious when INXS don't like someone because they start off by saying, "How do YOU think you did?", or Dave says, "What made you choose THAT song?" It seems like they have their favorites now... Jordis, JD (since he does a good job of re-working the songs with the band), Marty & Daphna.

Really disappointed in Neal. I did not like his performance at all.

JD has become my fave. I look forward to seeing what he will do.

I felt that last night was sort of a poor show. The only one who really thrilled me was Marty. The rest were either okay or pretty bad.

I'm here for the party and I ain't leaving til they throw me out.

Wow, I thought Brandon was really good. A couple were bad. Namely Cher and the girl who did the REM song. Some were just ok, but for the most part I thought everyone was pretty good. Hard to judge Mig because he was rapping...juries still out on him. But I liked Marty and Brandon.

Oh yeah, Summer of 69 was bad too.

Normally i like Brandon but he didn't thrill me last night either. Maybe I was just cranky. Because even Daphna didn't do it for me last night and I have the total hots for her.

For the most part, last night was disappointing.

The only two that stood out for me were JD & Jordis. I really like that both of them have a genuine quality about them & have a lot of talent to give.

Everyone else was eh. Brandon's performance was good, it was just so "expected." Anyone can sing Sweet Home Alabama. I think Bo Bice does it better.

And what's her name that did R.E.M....I can't get past her horsey face and one dimensional voice.

I agree too. I was bored for most of the show. *yawn*

Sigs by Bob! Fear and chemistry keep everyone happy!
The only one that I really liked last night was Jordis.

I can't see Brandon winning - he's too 60-70ish style wise. And how anyone can miss notes in an Alabama song is beyond me. He was almost as bad as Neal and Jessica. I'd like to see a show with them doing slow songs as quite a few of the old INXS songs are slower tempoed and need to be sung with emotion, not the usual belt 'em out rock songs that most of these have been. I think that would quickly weed out a few of the contestants (Neal, Deanna, Brandon, and possibly JD and Marty, though they could surprise me).

If the chosen singer actually goes on tour with them, the audiences will be expecting to hear old INXS songs and to have them sung similarly to the Michael Hutchence versions.

Agreed which is why I think they will choose a man.

You know once they get down a few singers that the contestants will play on stage with INXS.

I will hold by this: Marty or Brandon will win. Both males, good performers, and closest in age to the INXS members. You gotta remember that this is not American Idol...we aint looking for Ruben Stoddard's here.

Last nights episode was my first. So tonight, three lowest in votes are up for elimination. Then what, the INXS members send one of them home packing?

"RE: Tuesday--July 19th Episode "
Posted by SilverStar on 07-20-05 at 04:19 PM
The 3 with lowest votes have to perform an INXS song, and then the band decides which one to send home.

So if the band has a favorite there is no chance they get eliminated by the viewing audience. Sounds like a great plan.

"RE: Yeah"
Posted by brvnkrz on 07-20-05 at 05:13 PM
I don't really have a problem with that. they are the ones who have to play with the singer. I realize that the audience is who will buy the records and should have some input but my worry would be that the audience is picking their favorite singer, not their favorite new lead for THIS band. *shrug*
