"the Spoilers are starting to trickle in"
Posted by Loree on 09-20-05 at 04:44 PM
LAST EDITED ON 09-20-05 AT 04:46 PM (EST)This does NOT tell who won.
This is repeated from another board. Someone just got it off the phone from someone who had come out of the taping;
More hyper than previous shows. Started out at a fever pitch. Recap of entire series - all contestants. Q&A with rawkers by INXS and PPoD. Each sang a song (can't say what songs). Each asked why they should be chosen over the other two guys.
MiG - he gave up the most to do this
JD - he should be chosen because he loves INXS
Marty - b/c he has laid out his plans the most clearly and he doesn't want them to choose someone who hasn't laid it out clearly because they (INXS) wouldn't know what they were getting.
One person was cut. Hint: The contestant was male. <grin>
It was an emotional event.
Then the last two each sang another song. No critique afterward.
Tim repeated line about the band being again complete. Then INXS announced the winner. Loud screaming & cheering.
Most exciting thing:
INXS sign was lowered from ceiling to be behind INXS - fueled excitement & emotion. Tim repeated line about the band being again complete before announcement was made.
The winner does 2 songs with INXS. After filming then INXS (complete w/new singer) did a mini-concert that wasn't part of show. In a break between songs, new lead singer said "We're INXS" and it was a great moment for everyone.
All former rawkers were in attendance. During break they told what they were currently doing.
*** Edit to add PPoD means Pocket Prince of Darkness and refers to Dave Navarro.

I'm going to pee with excitement. My sisters & I are going out for middle-sisters birthday tonight. We lied & told her a dumb reason we had to be finished with dinner by 9 so we could get back to watch the finale. When we made the plans, neither oldest-sister nor I realized it was finale night!

OMG, I am hyperventilating & freaking out. I can't wait to know, but so worried I'll be disappointed. INXS would have to be smoking crack not to pick J.D.Making an awesome dinner tonight & hoping it is topped off by a celebration -- *fingers crossed* At least it sounds like it will be a great show (never doubted that).

CattyChat I don't want to be mean but I sure hope it ends differently. I expect the results you want due to the way they have been editing the show but I might light a prayer candle for my MARTY!

Not to worry Moother as Marty (IMO) will go much further without INXS through this experience. I have pretty much accepted the fact that I believe JD will win tonight. I will listen to JD in the future only because I am an INXS fan but I will seek out Marty because I love to hear him sing and watch him perform.

Well I found out what JD is wearing today. He has black pants and black jacket. When he takes his jacket off he has a brown buttoned shirt with some design on it. I am really scraping to get any info. I was talking to a JD fan who was at the taping. At first I thought it sounded like he didn't win & I said I was depressed. So she told me No No not to be upset but she couldn't talk yet. So then I thought it must be good news. I am so confused I don't know what happened. Everyone is sworn to secrecy. The clock is moving so slowly.
Off to find someone with looser lips....

Keep up the good work Loree. I'm now at home, and swore I was not going to check in with the board, but here I am. I am not searching anywhere esle and relying solely on you. I'll check in every 1/2 hour or so. My wife would kill me if she really knew how obsessed I am over this!!

Here is someone else's report that was at the taping. It also does NOT tell who won:Teasers, more than Spoilers ...
When the Rockers first came out, they were busy looking for their friends and family who the production had put up in the balcony for the most part to ensure that the Rockers didn't get too distracted by seeing loved ones they had been missing. MiG spotted his wife up in the balcony above where INXS are, and got very choked up. She mimed to him to not cry, but it was too late. As the usual static shot of the Rockers pretending to listen to the commentary was setting up, MiG asked for a moment because he was still pretty emotional. He composed himself, then raised an eyebrow and made a kinda sinister face and said he was ready. It was really funny.
MiG - was up first and sang Bohemian Rhapsody (as we know from the "Reality" show). He did really well, with the exception of a couple of high notes that were kinda screechy. But it was a rockin' good time.
Side Note on the Audience: I want to say that the audience was pretty *blah* this time around compared to most times. I think there were FAR too many "VIP" types there who weren't really there to rock and support the Rockers. The 6 people directly in front of me talked through the ENTIRE taping. And, OMG, talk about not being able to clap to the beat - when they even bothered to clap. Seriously. It was pathetic. Thank goodness the hardcore fans that were there were LOUD.
JD - Sang "You Can't Always Get What You Want", and he did a decent job alright. Again, audience participation? Seriously lacking.
Marty - Sang "Wish You Were Here" for the umpteenth time. (I really wish he had selected something he hadn't done before.) But, once again, Marty nails it. (Oh, and the LoveHammers were in the crowd. Right On.)
All the eliminated Rockers were there, and they gave updates on what they have been doing.
Jessica - got married and is working construction. No lie.
Neil - (well, Neil's wife) had a baby.
Ty - is in the studio recording an album.
Deanna - is also recording - and gave her website info which is www.deannajohnston.net.
Brandon - is doing something or other, but I didn't catch it.
Jordis - went home for a week, then went to NYC and played phone tag with Neil for 4 days.
Suzie - I forgot. Heh. I know she felt like she hadn't been gone at all.
MiG, JD and Marty performed. Then INXS deliberates on those performances, and eliminates one more person. The eliminated Rocker says their goodbyes and thank you's, gives the band a 'proper goodbye', and takes their seat with the other former Rockers to the side.
The remaining two Rockers come back to the stage and each perform an INXS song - (Don't Change and What You Need.) Anyway, they do not perform with the House Band - they perform with INXS. After those two performances, there is no feedback given, INXS goes off stage to make the final decision.

I was in the seats, in the back, and yeah, the energy was low. I actually felt self conscious about standing up and clapping! From where I was, it looked like EVERYONE on the floor was full-out participating. So I went there. I have to say, it seemed to be a pro-Marty crowd on the floor. Dave asked Jessica if she wore a hard hat on her construction job. She answered, "No, but I have a tool belt, and a saw."
Neil was obviously very happy about his new baby, born last week. He said "I feel fvcking great!"
I never realized, MiG is just an itty-bitty thing! Very small boned, and maybe 5'3'', as I'm estimating Marty as being about 5'9" or so. People look so much larger on screen. Humphrey Bogart was about 5'4", I think.
Oh! Here's something. Dave had a list of questions to ask the remaining 3 rockers. He actually asked JD, "So! How does it feel to have a 2006 Honda Civic?" JD was sort of tongue-tied about how exactly to answer that, and went the campy, cheesy route, like "Well! It has A/C and a global positioning system, and it sure is peppy." Dave said, "Yeah, when I saw that question, I thought it was just as dumb as you did." I doubt very much that exchange will make the edit.
But, then JD said "But, seriously, it's great, and where else will I live if this doesn't work out?"

I have heard that Ask Kristin from EOnline stated "Double Ugh" when she found out who won. That makes me feel better since I know who she did and didn't like. And somewhere called MigCentral is reporting who won. But I have no idea if they have official news. But it made me happy if they are right.

LAST EDITED ON 09-20-05 AT 07:19 PM (EST)Here is my take, I know which two sang those INXS songs already, and that alone makes me feel a bit bummed. I would think that since the choice was already made prior to the final, that the singers would be given softballs for song choices. What better than to let them sing a song they all ready sang and did well on? Nevertheless, I'll keep the faith, although I am bracing for the worst.

The poor MSN moderators couldn't keep up with the spoilers. I think the secret is pretty much out about who won. I checked with someone at the taping and they said I was right about what I heard. But I didn't hear it from them. *wink*

Loree, you are the greatest. I went to Migcentral and absorbed all of the posts that I could find. My mood has brighted a bit, and I am cautiously optimistic at this point.

It airs in 2 hours and 10 minutes where I'm at (Illinois), so I am going to go fix something to eat, now that my appetite is coming back.

We are sooo going to need a 12-step program after this is over.

No doubt, though I'm feeling pretty good, although . . . I trust no one!! The two INXS songs that were sung first have been posted, and it seems that one would have been given to one of the singers as a mission statment of sorts, . . . "Don't Change", but you are not right for us. It would seem this would really only fit one of the 3.

LAST EDITED ON 09-20-05 AT 09:13 PM (EST)Ohhh! Loree & jpl, I'm dying to tell you.
But I don't think you really WANT to know. You're enjoying this, all the pins & needles, the delicious wait. I sort of wish I didn't know, because I'm on the outside of all the anticipation now. I went through it already, waiting for Tim to JUST. SAY. IT.
That said, I'm still watching the clock. I CAN'T WAIT for the show to come on! It's only 6:22, for me! Aaak. For once, maybe I'll come onto the board while the show is airing on the East Coast, to get a fix during the live discussion. I always avoided it before, for fear of spoilers.
It'll be like taking Methodone instead of Heroin.

NononononononononononononoIt's delicious torture!
I'm one of those people who goes crazy when I don't know a secret. Christams is torture - well, the leading up to the presents part is.
One year as a kid - maybe 8 or 10 - I carefully sneaked open my presents early one day. I slit open the tape and opened them and then put them all back.
Christmas Day was a HUGE disappointment! I learned my lesson but it still drives me crazy.
Only 36 minutes left til show time!!!!

As much as I can't wait to find out, I don't want to know until I finally see it in about an hour or so. If it is bad news, it would be too depressing to know before I actually see it. If it is good news, it would just spoil the drawn out drama that I just know is going to unfold. The agony!!!
