"Who do you think will get voted off tonight"
Posted by prosecutor on 01-26-06 at 10:07 PM
I think Master P will stay, I think George and Edyta will be gone. The host don't rember his name(sorry)is fed up with MP still being in the competition. Haha
The judges should score MP and Ashly high instead of low just like I said then the fans will think he is safe and not vote.
I was not able to vote from my cell phone once I used up my votes on the land line. I voted for Jerry and Lisa.

I think this is the week for Master P to go home. 13 points to the nearest competitor is a huge gap, especially with 4 guys to 3 girls in the field. And I think he disenchanted some people with the revelation of the practice hours and the plug (of course, I think they want him out anyway).I don't vote for this, I simply enjoy the ride. I loved Drew's performance tonight and Stacy was great as always. Tia, Lisa, and Jerry should all be good too. The only two in real danger to me are George and P.
And I couldn't take Lisa truly seriously. Why? I can only picture Will Arnett with her song. Sorry. Still was thrilled by the choice, amused me immensely.

Is anyone sure how they score the fan vote? All I know is that it accounts for 50% of the total score. Seeing how the judges can give up to 30 points, wouldn't it make sense that the couple with the most votes would then also get 30 points?
My fear is that if they go on a scale by 2 or 3 points downward, that would give the couple with the lowest fan vote 12-18 points on that type of scale. That would mean that P could gain between 12-18 points on the couple with the lowest fan vote if he gets the most votes(and 30 points), which could put him past a few of the couples.
After the way the judges reacted to his 'dance', it wouldn't surprise me at all if his fans started getting everyone they know to vote as often as possible for him, just to keep him around after the judges supposedly made things 'personal'. I wouldn't be surprised at all (and am actually expecting) to see P still 'dancing' next week.

I think it depends on how the fan votes are calculated in relation to their placement and amount and the judges' scores. If it goes like this, with a median style with the middle score getting middle points1st place: 30 points
2nd place: 25 points
3rd place: 20 points
4th place: 15 points
5th place: 10 points
6th place: 5 points
7th place: 0 points
Then Master P only needs a finish that is 3 places above George Hamilton and even 4 places above the highest scorer (Drew). So in that case, it really isn't a big deal, and anyone could go home. Of course, it depends on the scale. If the mean is still 15, but it's 2-3 points between positions, it's tougher.
If it goes on a basis of amount of votes where the "mean" landed, and how far off the mean decides the number of votes, then it will be decidedly harder for Master P. I don't know how that would go down though. It seems very complicated.
I won't be surprised in the least if he survives, but honestly, I think he may have turned some of his fans off by the revelation that he has practiced about 1/7 the amount of the average contestants, but we'll see.

I thought last year they said the contestants are scored based on their ranking. Say if there are 5 pairs, the pair that came in first would get a 5 from the judges and the pair that came in last would get a 1. Then the audience vote is added in, also based on their ranking. The pair with the highest viewer votes would get a 5 and the pair with the least viewer votes would get a 1. So with 5 teams a pair could come in last with the judges and first with the viewers and would get a 6. A team picked first by the judges and last by the viewers would also get a 6. Then if there is a tie, the viewers votes count more.
Make sense? That is how they explained it during the controversy last year. The judges picked Kelly to win, but the viewers votes had more pull and if John got more viewer votes, he would have won.

You're right, Elaine. The voting would go from 1 through 7 -- person in first place by the Judges receives 7 points, last place receives 1 point. They then tally the viewer votes and do the same thing -- person with the highest viewer votes gets 7 points, down to the person with the least votes receiving 1 point.
Then they add the two together. In the case of a tie, the tie breaker goes to strictly viewer votes. So, if there are two people with a total combined tally of 3, then the total amount of viewer votes decides who stays and who goes.

I doubt seriously that his fans even watch the show. I just have a hard time seeing a bunch of peeps in the hood watching ballroom dancing. So, they aren't going to know about his practice time, nor, frankly, do I think they'll care. But, they will vote.

No desire to watch. Not even Ashly.

LAST EDITED ON 01-27-06 AT 00:59 AM (EST)I think Master P will stay, I think George and Edyta will be gone.
Not if I can help it! I voted as many times as I could for George (threw in a couple for Lisa and Jerry).
I'm glad to see your posts about stats. I wonder how close it will be. A lot of the time, I couldn't get through for George and Edyta: it was busy. I took this as a good sign that people are rallying behind George, and rallying to get P off the show for good.
Do you guys have any comments about the busy signals, and what excessive votes for George could mean for some of the lower-ranked peeps? Thanks.
I'm just trying to keep George in, and get P gone. Once that's accomplished, and after George sadly goes, I'm throwing my votes to either Jerry or Lisa. Sadly, I like them all, and want them all to win. They're all likable at this point.

Do you guys have any comments about the busy signals, and what excessive votes for George could mean for some of the lower-ranked peeps? Thanks. It's probably because everyone saw that George was the second lowest score, and everyone was trying to make sure that he beats P so they started calling for him. I think the same thing happened with Jerry last week which was why he wasn't one of the bottom two. (I called eight times for Jerry last week hangs head in shame)
Most likely George will be saved this week, but will put Jerry possibly in that bottom two spot instead.

That would be a bummer because as much as I like George (he's such a natural for this type of thing), I want either Jerry or Lisa to win. I cannot make up my mind. And Tia, Stacy and Drew are also very good and likeable too. So what else does this busy signal stuff for George do to the standings, other than jeopardize Jerry?

Just like American Idol, so much of it comes down to popularity at least until you get to the final 3 or so.I haven't been voting, but I'm just entralled with Drew, as well as Stacy. They look like they have been doing this for years!
Have to give a lot of credit to George, at his age, and for his amazing personality, too!! But in the final 3, it won't cut it. I see a tough tie between Drew and Stacy, unless someone else really starts pulling up their numbers in the next few weeks. Just MY humble opinion...
As far as "P" goes-he should have been gone after the 1st round. As the first judge said, 'how can you even judge THAT???'

Unfortunately, I think it's going to be a tossup between George & Master P. But I am really glad the judges & the hosts made a point to specifically & repeatedly call Master P to the carpet on his NOT showing up for practice, his do-not-care attitude, his disrespect for Ashly and that he's there to PLUG HIMSELF. I think they finally made a point of what P's real reason being there is.I only hope that is enough for the idiots voting for him to STOP. I'm glad Len said that it is CRUEL that people are voting for him -- cruel to him & the judges, other contestants and the show.
While voting on the ABC Website, I ventured a peek into their out-of-control message boards (there is a reason this is THE ONLY place I post or actually read others messages). The ABC boards are full of subject lines like: "If U don't vote P U R racist" "Judges unfair to P, everybody vote for him" "Jerry is a sellout to the white folks for taking ballet". I mean, the topics are absolutely ridiculous & totally off point.
FACT: Master P is NOT taking this seriously, doesn't care AND CAN'T DANCE BALLROOM and won't try!!! It has nothing to do with race, sex, how he wears his hair, where he comes from . . .
I will end by thanking our wonderful blue peeps for keeping our forum organized and respectable. We owe them A LOT!!

Thank you for bolding the comments, CattyChat. (I do believe I have found my twin in this place - SA-MOOCH.)One would hope the judge's pointed comments would drop a huge hint. But with one big agenda and one big collective duh in the P community, it seems a given that the ole knee-jerk will appear yet again this week.
and your name even has Cat in it!
"Ashley practices just as many hours as everyone else"

Master P should be robbed by the voting system tonight
and be sent home. If he's too busy to go practice with Ashley then kick him off already. It was entertaining to watch him make a fool of himself early on but now I can't stand to see Ashley dancing her heart out like that, no wonder the crowd gave a standing ovation it was for Ashley and how strong she has held up. The audience was yelling at the judges and the judges were yelling back shut up shut up. So he will probably make it through another week. Keep in mind that even though MP doesn't practice Ashely is practicing on her own just as many hours as the others so if she is rewarded with another week WTF.

True, about Ashley. But the point of the competition is not to keep voting the professionals through. It's to vote the celebrities who have shown the most improvement through again to another round.I LOVE Ashley-loved her last season, too. But she, sadly, got stuck with this ding dong who just has his passion somewhere else, and it's obviously not with this competition!
I can't even understand why he'd go out there and make a fool out of himself like that every week, just to make a point about his 'boys in the hood'. Makes no sense to me!

I am very frustrated that P. Miller continues to get a free ride while other competitors who really were trying get voted out. It's unfair to the competitor who wants to make a real effort, and it'sunfair to the viewers (except I guess, to those who for some puzzling reason, seem to actually like this guy). I am wondering what the producers are making of all this -- maybe they figure any controversy is good, because it encourages more viewers to check it out. But hopefully next year, they will have some good, viable alternates lined up, just in case there is another injury that removes a contestant right before the show begins. They had to scramble to fill Romeo's shoes, but watching P. Miller stand on the dance floor last night, while Ashley danced circles around him, is a royal rip off. The dude needs to be gone.

Of course, hindsight is always 20/20, but I wish they had just decided to have one less contestant couple. This is really ruining the fun of the competition.

yep he was probably robbed by the powers that be tonight but it's all good. He would have looked out of place next week when they all have to dance side by side on the dance floor. Hope Ashly comes back next season and gets a more willing partner because she is certainly the most popular pro there. I hardly remember the other pros names.heh heh.

Maybe it was Ashly! Having to face those other good dancers next week would have been awful. The other night she danced circles around P. Must have been so frustrating. The thought of having to make something work for next week was probably too much for her.

Nah, it's not rigged. P lasted a while but with fewer other couples to divide the votes, his time finally came. I am sure the exact same people voted for him each weak and they were-at last-not a big enough bloc to save him.Maybe I'll start watching again. After P did in both Tatum and Giselle, I took DWTS off the TiVo.
Interesting that he has a new album. He was popular in the mid-90s but it has been a long time since he had a hit. I can't even remember any of his tunes. I do remember when poor Snoop Dogg had fallen on hard times and had to be a member of P's posse-the name of which I have also forgotten. P. is a businessman above all else. He knows how to make money.

Everybody gets the same amount of votes, and one could assume that some of those whose favorites have been booted still watch and still vote. With other competitors probably picking up some of the votes from people POed that their faves got the gate in favor of P, his and Romeo's fan base might not have been big enough to overcome them anymore. Something similar might happen to George next week, as he is clearly the weakest of the remaining celebs and some of the fans of those eliminated might be a little ticked that he's still there.
