Kenny going over the various starts.

Maks can't keep his hands off of Maks.

Mark's narcissism on display.

Sabrina week 6 both times. But not the most shocking...
Kenny say voted out one week before the mirror ball (shorter season back then, wink)

Had to prepare three styles.

Pick the music and the dance style.

Cat and Mouse Jive - Kelly and Val.

Tome has to fix the props.

Melissa and Tony get the...Life is a Highway Samba

Shawn and Derek...Respect, Cha Cha Cha.

Less than an hour to get it ready.

"Blow Me (One Last Kiss)"—Pink Brisol an Mark.

Pam has a bunch of guys dancing with her. Ooh la la. Tom says there usually is a two drink minimum to see something like that.

Helio and Chelsie translation issues.

I loved Helio with Julianne. I think Julianne really brought out the best of him. He and Chelsea didn't have "it" so much...?

Bristol either lost the little bit of ability she had, or she just didn't want to be there. She had to notice how excited Mark was when he danced with Shawn the week Derek was injured.

Pam was better, because they worked around her "stylings".

Tom's favorite in the dress rehersal.

Unguarded moment montage.

Team dances were free styles to guilty pleasures, Added new faces to the dances.

Gangnam Style. Joey and Kym standing in.

Judges failing with silly string.

Drew's dance was sweet.

Gangnam style was fun again and Joey did well. Giles towel seemed to have made a bit bigger.

Giles surrenders to the dance.

Can't tell if the ditzy was part of the dance, or she was just a bit lost.

Len. Revalation this whole season. Spins fantastic, you have gone for this. Nailed the footwork.

Bruno. Energy of randy rabbits. Lost a bit of balance.

Carrie. A little slip, but in sync all the time...something about body oil??

Scores after the break.

So pushing for the answer to the showmance. Kelly claims it is a friendship.

9.5 - 9.5 - 9.5 - 28.5/30 - 87.5/90

Forgot Rizzoli & Isles was back on, so my DVR didn't record. I missed their dance. I tuned in to see their scores and interview. I wonder if Kelly is done with him now. I had to laugh at her beating around the bush and the other contestants falling out of their chairs with laughter.

All along, I thought Val was like a puppy dog around her (an incredibly hot puppy dog), and she was using her soap acting to keep it interesting.

Insta-samba

Band is really mucking this up. Tempo is just wrong.

Bruno. South American Siren. Hard to pull through, music wasn't as Brazilian as it could be. Dances are a nightmare to pull off.

Carrie Ann. Pure artistry, you rushed the music a hair. Like you wanted to go at last night's pace. Had an amazing season.

Len. Interpretation not what it was last night. Been my greatest pleasure to watch.

9.5 - 9.5 - 9.5 - 28.5/30 - 88.5/90

What did she grab on that leap over at the end?

Carrie Ann. Absorb the applause. You started out a star and no way to end but with that star studded performance.

Len. You are the no stress express. Derek thrown some terrific choreography at you. that was fantastice.

Bruno. Going out with a bang. Grand finale of perfection.

10 - 10 - 10 - 30/30 - 87/90

"RE: Shawn and Derek"
Posted by samboohoo on 11-28-12 at 09:18 AM
I didn't think it was a "10" dance. I think the judges were trying to help make up for the "low" scores they had to give her Monday. Again, I like Shawn, but I think she gets too many points based on her gymnastics. Last time I have to gripe about that. It bugged me.

LOL!

I didn't see much of the show, but I did, um, catch this bit, and I had to wonder the same thing.

"RE: Results Two"

When I first heard "two," I also translated that Shawn and Derek had each won again. I'm so glad I was wrong. So excited for Tony. He has been great since the beginning. I think his best shot was with Stacey, but Drew deserved that win that year.

All of my votes went to Melissa. I even used a second email address to give her 5 more. I thought she was the best "dancer" of the season.

I was a Shawn fan, so I was disappointed. But Dial Idol had indicated that Shawn & Derek were safe by a pretty big margin, so I really believed that they had won. Therefore, I was shocked when I learned that it was Melissa & Tony who had won, not Shawn & Derek!

That said, I'm glad for Tony's sake since he hadn't won a Mirror Ball before. And I suspect that's one reason why he & Melissa won -- perhaps casual voters wanted to see someone who hadn't won before win this season.

"RE: Results Two"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-12 at 01:48 PM
The problem with dialidol is these days very few people use it for voting for any show, and DWTS has always been really low.

When the sample of several million votes is only a few hundred (I think for the finale it was a total of 150 or so votes) it may not be enough to get a good sample.

Also it doesn't sample any of the facebook or texting votes, either.

So it isn't as good for predicting as it used to be.

And that is before we get into some of the conspiracy theories that the busies for Shawn may have been from producer manipulating the lines.

Well, at least it's still good for predicting the winner of American Idol -- and last season, I wish it hadn't been!

As for the conspiracy theories -- I never get into them.
