"DWTS 12 Episode 10 ECST"

Posted by vince3 on 04-25-11 at 01:52 PM
Tonight is Guilty Pleasures Week, in which songs that we love (but don't want to admit) are the possible choices tonight... We might have one or two left after tonight, then... *sigh*

Also, tonight, we have a 'surprise' guest to start the show... 'Surprise' is in quotes because if you head to TV Guide.com and look at the listings for both tonight and tomorrow, you'll see who it is gonna be... and they will fit the 'Guilty Pleasures' theme as well as Tuesday's main musical guests: New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys (who are touring together this year...)

Morning was very lousy, so didn't want to wait until the last minute to post the thread.

*dancing around the living room*

I do like this song, but I refuse to feel guilty about it.

"BIG Intro!"
Posted by vince3 on 04-25-11 at 08:06 PM
The band very much so pales in comparison to Hanson's opening salvo....

"Kirstie/Maksim"
Posted by vince3 on 04-25-11 at 08:14 PM
and Maks hid after being teased by Tom about last week's dance without a shirt... and I think the Stars are again gonna pick their Guilty Pleasures song it appears...

Kirstie is having on and off panic attacks... when she starts to think about it... overthinking in the process...

Dancing the Samba to Hit Me Baby One More Time

Migawd... Derek's on the sitcom after this...

Hanson sings Hello to bring us back before the dance starts...

Nice job. I wish she'd have a bit more intention in her arms, but otherwise really good.

Today's Len's Birthday, says Tom.

7 votes per phone line/email address.

Scores: 8-9-9 for a total of 26, their highest score so far!

*Waves hi!*

Don't usually watch DWTS but tuned in to see if Kristie was dancing early...and she was!

Really good for a 60 year old non pro. A bit slowed down, but she gives the rest of us over 40 hope! And she looks like she's dropped some lbs, too.

Very Impressed. I like this. Too bad Carrie Ann doesn't vote high marks unless it is a guy that turns her on.

Their dance was okay! would have gave them all 8's.

"Chris/Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 04-25-11 at 08:21 PM
He made a new impression on the judges, and landed in 2nd place.

He's pleased that his song is from Journey, since the lead singer is his inspiration for his singing for his rock band, Fozzy...

He's having a little difficulty with the timing with the music...

That skirt was really distracting and made Cheryl's legs look funny to me. Hard to notice anything else for me.

There will be a special tomorrow night at 8, and it apparently will be live... Past champions and Stars will be on it, as well as Hanson.

Scores: 7-8-7 for a total of 22.

I like Chris and Cheryl. But that was not one of Chris' best dances.

"Romeo/Chelsie"
Posted by vince3 on 04-25-11 at 08:34 PM
Hanson sings us back in with Achy Breaky Heart (somewhere a mullet is smiling...)

Romeo had the right idea mixing Swagger with Fox Trot and it got him in a 3-way tie for 2nd place...

Romeo wants to get into the character every week, but Chelsie wants him to concentrate to get 10s this week...

I.Loathe.This.Song.

The dance seemed really good, but I really really loathe that song.

Macy's Stars of Dance will feature a tribute to the Royal Wedding

NKOTB and BSB will be performing as will Pia from AI while Mark/Karina dances for her song...

Scores: 10!-9-9 for a total of a 28. (First 10 of the season!)

Romeo seems to be getting better. I just don't really care for him.

"Chelsea/Mark"
Posted by vince3 on 04-25-11 at 08:45 PM
This time Hanson brings us back with Ice Ice Baby

Last Monday she sizzled, and was in 2nd last week.

Mark hurt his ankle in rehearsal earlier today...

Chelsea doesn't completely understand Mark's competitive spirit... and Mark decides to play something akin to Water Tag... she used the sink's hose to win it...

That was fun, and cute.

I don't know about you, but I didn't see any ankle injury affects...

Voting still open for the dancers for the Interactive Macy's Stars of Dance... until Thursday...

Now we see a replay of what happened in rehearsal... and it was at the end of the dance...

Scores: 10!-9-9 for a total of 28, tied for the lead!

Carrie Ann has always loved Derek and Mark. She is giddy about giving the first 10 of the season.

No sing in this segment...

Kendra spent her 2nd straight week at the bottom of the leaderboard... even with improvement from the previous week...

Louis wants her to shake everything that God gave Kendra... even if she didn't get her boobs from God...

I think she shook some pixels completely off the TV screen.

That was fun.

I think we need fire extinguishers on the dance floor!!! As well as maybe a defibrillator for Len... and I think Bruno's money is somewhere on the floor...

and Tom reveals one of his Guilty Pleasures... Elton John's I'm Still Standing... and Bruno was in the video!!!!!!

Scores: 8-8-9 for a total of 25.

"RE: Kendra/Louis"
Posted by Loree on 04-25-11 at 10:40 PM
Kendra has always bragged the only dance move she knows is the booty shake. So this week she used that over and over.

"Bwahahahaahhaha!!!!"

Bruno in "I'm Still Standing" Elton John.

Shake it baby, shake it.

"Hines/Kym"

Hines like to sing this song in the shower, and he practiced at home with a pillow...

I liked that, gosh it was fast, but it really went with the music.

I am bored with Hines. I don't know why everyone loves him so much.

"RE: Hines/Kym"
Posted by Round Robin on 04-26-11 at 01:51 AM
I think part of it is his smile and personality, part of it is the popular football team he plays for, and IMNVHO a BIG part of it is his partner's physical assets and personality. Kym Johnson is one of the most breathtaking women on the planet, with an absolutely wonderful body and legs, and if you think that body and those legs don't get Hines a lot of votes, you have another think coming.

What was that fall? But they really got back into it for the rest of the dance.

Karina wiped out! Also, watch out for strobe effects...

Turns out Karina tripped over the long part of Ralph's coat...

Scores: 8-8-8

"What were the judges smoking tonight?"
Posted by udg on 04-25-11 at 10:37 PM
He may have pulled her right back to her feet, but Karina was off for a long time after that!

"RE: DWTS 12 Episode 10 ECST"
Posted by Loree on 04-25-11 at 10:47 PM
Ralph and Karina get the best dance spots. They never danced earlier than the last 3 spots. Finally they had them dance first last week. Then they were right back to the pimp spot this week.

I thought they screwed up several times. I thought the scoring was generous considering.

"RE: DWTS 12 Episode 10 ECST"
Posted by millie on 04-26-11 at 00:37 AM
IMO, Ralph/Karina's dance minus the fall, was just as good as Kirstie's and Maksim.

"RE: DWTS 12 Episode 10 ECST"
Posted by udg on 04-26-11 at 02:29 AM
I don't see it. It took them a LOONNNGGG time to recover after the fall. The rest may have been ok, but I thought the scores were extremely generous, considering how many measures of music they were just plain lost.

"RE: DWTS 12 Episode 10 ECST"

So I don't watch this show regularly, but I've been watching the videos the day after online. I admit, I am a fan of the Karate Kid. Anyway, I have a question - when the pro dancer screws up as was the case with Ralph and his partner, do they give the star a pass? I mean, they're not really judging the pro, right? Just wondering what they've done in the past.

I felt bad for Karate Kid. Wasn't his fault.

I was wondering the same thing

They count it against the stars when the pros don't choreograph well, so I don't see why a fall wouldn't count against them. I think the bigger issue than the actual fall is the recovery. Coming back from something like that is much more impressive than not falling at all.
