"DWTS 12 Episode 6 ECST"

This week is allegedly Classics Week, which will have an opera singer with the Worst Band in All the Land. I wish the singer good luck, he or she's gonna need it...

Why is there a tall thin man in a long black robe walking around my house with a scythe?

I mowed a couple of days ago.

DWTS is trying to kill me, opera singer + the band Oi!

See ya.

Tonight I came home to my Dr. bill, 3 dentist bills and my completed taxes. I need comfort food

Drink of the night

Sweet tea (spiked with whatever's handy)

snack of the night

catfish, fritters, greens

What I really have is a gyro from the street vendor and a bottleglass of wine

Double the Orchestra, Stage will transform....

LIVE! This is DWTS!

"BIG Intro!"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:03 PM
Let's see if it sounds better with twice the Orchestra...

Everyone's coming in from the sides.... and I think we're in for Paso's...

Not too bad... singers might need more work, though...

"RE: BIG Intro!"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 08:04 PM
Hoping the special guests will drown out the regulars.

I kinda miss waiting to see if anyone trips down the long stairs in their costumes.

I'm going to heck aren't I?

Kiki/Oksana for the Paso, with David Garrett... Bethoven's 5th

I have a feeling we're going to have David Garrett disappear into Ye Olde Antique Shoppe, never to be heard from again......

"Romeo/Chelsie"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:11 PM
Plenty of heart and soul... but notsomuch on footwork.

To try to channel his aggression, they head to the basketball court...

Dancing the Paso Doble to the them they use for Zales commercials... and I think it was used on a week I was Football'd about 18 months ago...

"RE: Romeo/Chelsie"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 08:13 PM
Yep, the diamond commercial music. Got some aggression and passion in there, good job.

"RE: Romeo/Chelsie"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:16 PM
Lift Cop Carrie Ann spotted a violation, so we'll see a deduction there...

Scores: 7-8-8 for a total of 23.

Hope they wore protection for that one. Whew!

I admit I don't care for Romeo. So he can go home this week and I would not miss him.

Posted by millie on 04-12-11 at 01:21 AM
Awww. I like these two young people and I liked their dance also, well done!

"Kendra/Louis"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:23 PM
She had the technicality to match her sensuality... in a (literally) smoke-filled Rhumba....

She knows she's in deep trouble because it's back to the ballroom... plus classical music? She decides to try to theme it into the Mafia Waltz... 3 BIG tricks in this dance, hopeful to prove they're contenders....

Dancing the Viennese Waltz to... ya gots me... Opera singer out for this one, though....

"RE: Kendra/Louis"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 08:25 PM
She looked really tense and nervous during that.

It didn't seem like they were dancing to the same piece of music that was playing.

"RE: Kendra/Louis"
Posted by whimsey on 04-11-11 at 08:27 PM
That was awkward, the music, the performance, all of it.

"RE: Kendra/Louis"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:28 PM
She got lost in the middle of the dance and technique trainwrecked...

Jennifer Hudson and David Garrett are musical acts tomorrow night. Also, Ballet for Macy's Stars of Dance...

Scores: 6-6-6 for a total of 18

"RE: Kendra/Louis"
Posted by Loree on 04-12-11 at 00:59 AM
Low scores of the night. I think the show would be content if she left this week.

"RE: Kendra/Louis"
Posted by millie on 04-12-11 at 01:34 AM
Awww... I think Kendra might be going home tomorrow, I like Louis he's a sweetheart and so compassionate.

"Sugar Ray/Anna"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:36 PM
His Paso packed of punch last week...

They bonked heads, and Anna's trying to bring him into her world... and it's a struggle. Anna takes Ray to a Ballet school to give him an idea of what he's supposed to do...

Dancing the Viennese Waltz to Waltz of the Flowers (thanks Anna!)

"RE: Sugar Ray/Anna"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 08:38 PM
Oh dear. That was cute, but a bit like a clumsy puppy playing in the flower patch.

"RE: Sugar Ray/Anna"
Posted by whimsey on 04-11-11 at 08:39 PM
That was a hot mess, and I loved it!

"RE: Sugar Ray/Anna"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:40 PM
Scores: 7-7-7 for a total of 21, his highest score to date!

"RE: Sugar Ray/Anna"
Posted by Loree on 04-12-11 at 01:01 AM
They are not great. But I enjoy watching Anna and Sugar Ray. They seem to be having alot of fun.

"Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:48 PM
Last week's elegant Waltz rocketed up the leaderboard....

However, this week, they're nervous about the technique... as well as Petra's lack of ANGRY FACE... and gigglefits. Dmitry tries using a photo shoot to try to get her to look more fierce...

Dancing the Paso Doble to Carmen's Theme

"RE: Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 08:51 PM
Oh yikes.

I didn't know that music had vocals, and I wish they hadn't.

I think she was channeling Kate's Paso I think there was some zombie tinges to that.

And then the when all else fails strip ending?!!?!

What snidget said.

"RE: Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:55 PM
I'm not surprised it had vocals, since Carmen is an opera after all... and there is probably a more proper title than Carmen's Theme (or the Bad News Bears' theme, as well...)

"RE: Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 08:58 PM
I guess I've usually heard it as part of the overture rather than when it appears during the singing parts.

"RE: Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:53 PM
Bruno goes wild again in judgment... poor Carrie Ann is skeered.

Scores: 8-7-8 for a total of 23.

"RE: Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 08:54 PM
I don't think they watched the same dance I did.

"RE: Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by Loree on 04-12-11 at 01:04 AM
I did not think that dance was as good as the judges.

I really think Bruno should have to wear a seat belt during the show. Why can't he stay in his chair when he talks?

"RE: Petra/Dmitry"
Posted by realworld10 on 04-12-11 at 11:45 AM
The dance did not match the music. I think of the Paso as a dramatic dance. The song was way too fast - did not agree with the judges scores at all.

"Pro Demonstrations"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 08:59 PM
Waltz, Petra and Tristan, with the opera singer... and the opening was so soft, I started to doze off...

"Ralph/Karina"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:02 PM
After residing the first two weeks at the top of the leaderboard... he fell toward the middle last week. Ralph's trying to keep his hands more in check, even if he's not completely sure what he needs to do....

Dancing the Waltz to Romeo and Juliet's theme

Beautiful, just beautiful.

"RE: Ralph/Karina"

Nice job. Very romantic and passionate there.

"RE: Ralph/Karina"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:11 PM
I could be wrong, but doesn't that same melody play in 'A Time for Love'?

Scores: 8-8-9 for a total of 25, his highest of the season, and current leader!

"RE: Ralph/Karina"
Posted by Loree on 04-12-11 at 01:08 AM
I am probably in the minority. But Ralph doesn't impress me much.

"RE: Ralph/Karina"

Awww.. The dance was wonderful

"Hines/Kym"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:18 PM
He scored the first 9 of the season, and he had a lot of events this week, too boot...

He had been using the lyrics for his timing... and to add to the trouble, Kym's stepping up the choreo...

Dancing the Paso Doble to what sounds like classical Paso music amped up by David Garrett's presence...

"RE: Hines/Kym"
Posted by whimsey on 04-11-11 at 09:20 PM
That was masterful! I love a man who understands being masterful.

"RE: Hines/Kym"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 09:20 PM
That was a nice job. Hines' fan club scaring Carrie Ann.

"RE: Hines/Kym"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:22 PM
This week's cheering section for Hines seems to include some of his teammates waving Terrible Towels...

Big band pimpage check for Tom this week...

Scores: 9-8-8 for a total of 25, tied for the lead... (crowd gives the judges heck)

"RE: Hines/Kym"
Posted by Loree on 04-12-11 at 01:10 AM
The towel waving is starting to annoy me. He is OK but I am not that impressed.

"Chelsea/Mark"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:28 PM
She got her sexy on with the Cha Chae Cha... and she wants to contend this week...

Uh-oh... Mark's trying to get her to act young when not in hold... could be an issue, especially if she gets lost due to lack of vocals....

Dancing the Viennese Waltz to Harry Potter's theme (?!?!?!)

Potterisms abound.

Len is cranky.

I actually liked it but I did wonder if they did too much that wasn't waltzy enough for Len and I was right.

ETA "Hedwig's Theme" — John Williams" according to Wikipedia They are listing the songs as they go on, but not sure how quickly they get them up.

Oh dear, Mark is auditioning as choreographer for SYTYCD again. Interesting.

"RE: Chelsea/Mark"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:33 PM
A lot of zoomed out shots for this dance... Also, until I recognized the music, I was wondering what the heck their outfits were all about.... Sorting hat and all...

Len starts to go crankypants... Bruno tries to cast a spell to shut him up, but gets told to jump on his Nimbus 2000 and bugger off... Carrie Ann agrees with Bruno more than Len...

Scores: 9-8-9 for a total of 26, and the new leaders!

Face it - MARK annoys me.

"RE: Chelsea/Mark"
Posted by JessicaRN on 04-12-11 at 04:25 PM
Me too and I thought the hat was stupid, although I did wonder how it stayed on. I kept picturing an elastic strap under his chin and then I got the image of Pinocchio!

"RE: Chelsea/Mark"
Posted by Nume on 04-12-11 at 06:24 PM
I actually liked this quite a lot. I read this before watching the show (I was at work) so I was expecting them to be doing tons of crazy and not much dancing, but I thought there was a lot more in hold, traditional style dancing than what I'd expect from reading here. Yeah they did a few little parts where they were seperate and not really fitting the dance, but I thought it was fun and the in hold parts seemed to fit it .

"RE: Chelsea/Mark"
Posted by udg on 04-12-11 at 08:58 PM
I agree. I think they did a great job of combining traditional, expected moves with tricks and song-specific moves. Their costumes were a little weird, but no more so than poor Kirstie's.

Last week, he was Chris Irvine, as a tribute to his late mother...

This week, Chris Jericho's back, baby! She's trying to unleash his arrogant wrestler side out for the Paso....

Dancing the Paso Doble to the Sorcerer's Apprentice music from Fantasia

"RE: Chris/Cheryl"
Posted by Snidget on 04-11-11 at 09:43 PM
Did a good job, but something seemed a bit off in that. Sugar Ray looked skeered when they went over to the celebs at the end of the dance.

"RE: Chris/Cheryl"

WoW! WoW!

The music belied the Paso Doble, excellent performance, on their part!

"Kirstie/Maksim"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:51 PM
Last week, Maksim had a muscle pull which caused them to crash to the floor, but they recovered to survive...

Nice job. I really like the relationship between Maks and her.

OK, how mean was it to start Kirstie out amongst those ladies??? Just mean!

If I were her, I would have thrown that shoe off and worked it for all it was worth!

And I, too, love their relationship. It's almost better than the Mel B match-up.

"RE: Kirstie/Maksim"
Posted by vince3 on 04-11-11 at 09:58 PM
She's had a bit of a shoe mishap, which didn't help matters this week...

Lol, Maks and Kristie what's going to happen next. Yes, they are a fun couple but I liked him better with Mel B.

"RE: Kirstie/Maksim"
Posted by Loree on 04-12-11 at 01:19 AM
I love this couple. What can happen to them next week? I am sure they will dance no matter what. Maybe Maks' pants will fall off. I know I wouldn't mind.
