Tonight is the Semi-Final Performance Night.

Tonight's show is *only* 90 minutes, so maybe less filler tonight jammed in? Hopefully?

I'm sure they'll find away to cut down on the content rather than all the juicy filler. I mean the waste a whole what 90 seconds per dance, surely they can get it done in 60 or 30.

We are starting off with a Latin round this week, complete with solos... Then a Ballroom Round in which they'll be doing a dance type they haven't done yet...

Paso Doble and Argentine Tango...

Brandy misinterprets Bristol's staying power with 'America' loving her....

Yikes that to me was one of the worst songs for paso doble I've ever seen. The dancing was ok, but it was really hard to get into it with absolutely 0 passion/emotion in the music. It looked like 2 people trying to act all intense and such, but without the music backing it just felt hollow to me. I cant really blame brandy, just hated that music for that style . It was even worse than boom boom boom for foxtrot earlier this year imo...

They've been at the bottom of the leaderboard for 6 of the 8 weeks...

Egad the judging is making me twitch.

They really want to find a way to make sure she makes the finale don't they.

I mean it was better than I was fearing, but given that tongue bath they are definitely going to score her high enough to be nearly tied with everyone else.

I know Kyle is not the best dancer, but I love him. He's just so much fun and I bet he would do an awesome freestyle so I really hope he makes it to the finals.

P.S. Snidget, I am still cracking up about your Mark guyliner comment. He is becoming creepy.

I missed Brandy's dance -- was it really that bad? Hard for me to believe that Brandy and Bristol could receive the same score.

I sure hope Brandy doesn't get dumped...but it's going to be her or Kyle, right?

I think the DWTS judges found the dealer that was selling crack to the Project Runway judges.

There is something even more whack about that crack than is typical.

2nd half dances are complete with a look into their lives to see what made them the competitors that they are...

We get talk from Brandy's friends and family... including Whitney Houston. They talk about her record sales slump, and the fatal car accident...

The weird thing, I started typing the crack is whack joke and Whitney Houston appeared on the TV, I did not plan that, it was eerie.

That strange stiffness in her shoulders and neck work a bit better in this than in the paso, but I still find it distracting and makes it hard for me to see much of anything else in her dancing.

Right before the premiere of Dirty Dancing, she had a really bad accident with her boyfriend at the time, Matthew Broderick. The accident made her neck very vulnerable since then, and surgery was required to get her healthy enough to dance on the show...
