All righty then... it looks like the song spoilers have dried up, so hopefully they'll continue to tell us the song during the video packages before they attempt to dance... I can dream, can I?

*shrug* Oh well. We're in week 4, which is the beginning of the more 'romantic' dances making their appearances felt.

Maybe things will be interesting this week? Who knows?

Time to get down in the Round!

Also it's double score time again...

A score for performance, and one for technique...

As they have to get used to a raised, round stage... all music will be accoustic... also, they'll be completely surrounded by the audience... and if they slip or crash near the edge? 30 inch drop.

Yow that was harsh on the technical. We may get quite a spread on scores assuming anyone steps up.

"RE: Kurt/Anna"
Posted by Loree on 10-11-10 at 08:24 PM
Going first it is hard to tell if the judges were just hard on Kurt or they plan to be that way all night. But if Kurt is getting 5s then the Situation should see 2s and 3s.

"Brandy/Maksim"

Brandy doesn't feel sexy unless she's in love.... Problem is, she hasn't been with anyone for 6 years!

To try to set the mood for a more romantic one... he tried to take her to an intimate table... but when he explained it to her... it wasn't exactly romantic to start....

Maxwell - This Woman's Work

I've heard it on several shows but only figured it out because a couple of lyrics sound familiar.

It was nice, but I really didn't buy the chemistry between them most of the time. Felt like she was overthinking it.

"Rick/Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 10-11-10 at 08:47 PM
Cheryl went to Argentina to learn everything about the Argentine Tango...

Cheryl tries to get Rick to show his emotion... They go to the stage to get a feel for the stage and discover it being elevated... Making him more nervous of potentially tossing her into the front row... as well as if a jump that is supposed to land near the edge of the stage doesn't find the right spot... *crash*

Egad he showed exactly how hard it was to do those lifts. You gotta make it look easy even when it isn't.

I figured he worked out for definition, not function, and that can mean the only thing you can lift well is a weight that is on a cable, not much in real life.

"RE: Situation/Karina"
Posted by vince3 on 10-11-10 at 09:19 PM
Bruno is bracing Situation for bad score impact... Lots of mistakes in Technical... which derailed attempts toward Performance... Carrie Ann welcomes the Situations' abs to the show...

"RE: Situation stormed out last night"
Posted by Snidget on 10-12-10 at 03:29 PM
I also don't see where anyone has gotten high marks for just completing a difficult step/lift.

I mean he didn't drop her or anything so that deserves something, but, personally, I think they might have done better to do more dancing and less stunt work when the stunts weren't smooth and effortless looking. If it looks like it is hard you don't get a lot of credit for it in any of the artistic sports.

"RE: Situation stormed out last night"
Posted by Nume on 10-13-10 at 06:40 PM
Yeah, all the press keeps saying he did such amazing/impressive tricks, but in reality you could see him slowly set up for each trick (especially the first...) so it really just hurt the overall dance more than helping it. He visibly stopped and took a breath before trying that first one heh.

"RE: Situation stormed out last night"
Posted by Belle Book on 10-12-10 at 07:38 PM
I can see why he'd do such a thing -- it would be hard to stick around after such bad scores -- but he was the worst by far! And in any case, I think that perhaps the judges were a little bit generous even in their technical scores -- after all, Michael Bolton got a 3 in his jive, and this was about as bad! And the scores for performance were clearly generous -- I'd have given him a 4 for his performance!

I think I know the song -- I think I heard it in a Tom & Jerry cartoon where Jerry was living inside a cabinet radio and needed to turn on the music so he could read his paper (the lamp was connected to the vacuum tubes inside the radio), only the music drove Tom crazy and instead of turning it down, he kept turning it off before finally pulling the plug. At that point, a bear who was trained to dance to music comes along (having escaped from a circus), and proceeds to dance with Tom before Tom finally is able to cut the cord to the radio. Then Jerry turns on an record player which plays the exact same music that I think Jennifer & Derek danced to!

Because I think there's a good possibility that's what you're gonna get. Audrina & Tony I think are the only serious threat to keep that little weasel's hands off the mirror ball. Brandy and Max have 3rd place written all over them, and none of the male celebs are that good.

"RE: Can you stomach Derek winning again?"

The biggest obstacle to Derek being the first Pro to win 3 championships is probably his partner's durability... She has injuries all over her body coming into the competition, and it seems that each week a new part lets its protests known...

"RE: Can you stomach Derek winning again?"

Heh thats probably what happens when you take a 50 year old woman and have her dance like that . Its still impressive though and I hope she is able to last through the season, because I have enjoyed all of her dances.

"RE: Can you stomach Derek winning again?"

50 year old woman all right, but Jennifer is a very pretty, very charming 50 year old woman, so if she remains injury free I think her looks and charm will be enough to override Derek's abilities to induce hatred and/or nausea.

Yes I agree, I was just saying that even though she looks so good and young, she is 50 years old so having some physical problems isnt a big surprise. I have never been a Derek hater though and I really do hope they win the show this year .
