Tonight we start the Finals. The Final 3 will be doing 4 dances over the next two nights, two tonight and two tomorrow.......

Tonight's dances, according to TV Guide.com will be a "redemption" dance (probably their worst scored dances of the season) and the infamous FREESTYLE dance!


Also of note, this show will repeat right before the Finale Results show tomorrow night, according to TV Guide.com............ I'll start the Finale Results thread before that starts, just in case they slip in new stuff.......

That means Evan & Anna will do a samba -- that was Evan's worst dance of the season. I hope it works out -- Evan had a problem with his hips in the samba. He's not used to working with his hips in skating. However, I read in USA Tdoay he'd be doing a waltz, a tango and a quickstep along with his freestyle. And none of those dances were worse than the samba.

Redemption isn't worst score overall....

But a dance they should have done well in, but didn't.

The judges have determined the dances that they're gonna do for their "redemption" dances....... (much like in AI when the judges which song their F3 do......)

Bruno has chosen the Samba for them, and helps to coach them, as well........

Dancing the Samba to what may be traditional Samba music......

Maks threatened to take off his vest, but he got shot down by Erin to start the dance........

Len has chosen the Viennese Waltz, because their chemistry was very notsomuch there in Week 1........

Dancing the Viennese Waltz to Piano Man (which explains the "keyboard" dress that Anna has on..........)

She's scored 363 judges points so far, the most at this point in the season......

Carrie Ann picked the Rumba, because that was the dance that she was mega-nervous on..........

D'oh! Derek picked up Nicole at the end of the routine, and since it was before the music ended......... Lift Cop Carrie Ann has to take a point off..........

They want to seperate themselves from everyone else....... they're gonna use a more contemporary song for the dance.

Maks brings in Mandy Moore to help him out with working on his choreography.

Yeah, she looked a bit crazed at points. I'm surprised Len liked it as much as he did -- the minute I saw the bed I thought for sure Len was going to hate it.

I'm bummed because I was expecting a lot more from Max and Erin. I don't think he played to her strengths.

It's always interesting how some knock the cover off the ball on free dance, while other pairs are just a big let-down.

*yikes* We've got a major difference of opinion for the choreography for the Freestyle....... Evan wants to take more risks, but Anna is having try other stuff........ She'd rather do 100 Pasos than 1 Freestyle.......

Anna brings in Bobby Newberry to combine both ideas into a smooth choerography..........

I do think that a lot of the pros struggle with choreographing freestyle.

Poor Anna -- I was really hoping she'd have a shot at winning after so many seasons with a lousy partner.

Because of Nicole's skill level, Derek's gonna push himself to the limit, and try lifts that he hasn't tried before.......

The last lift was a struggle and possibly was botched........

After their 3rd dance, one will be eliminated, then they'll have the Final 2 do the 4th dance..........

While Evan is good, he's still too robotic; too mechanical... Not only is Nicole gorgeous (IMHO), she is clearly the better dancer and more talented; she truly deserves the win. If you're looking for someone who had absolutely no experience, then Erin would be the choice.

Evan's freestyle did not fit his strengths, and he paid the price. If they hadn't struggled with the lift, I think Nicole & Derek would have been 2 or 3 points clear leaders instead of being tied. I think Evan has to ace the 3rd dance while the others struggle to avoid being the one that gets cut (and the 1st gold medalist not to win), but the bottom line is that by having the problems they did, Evan and Nicole left the door wide open IMO for Erin to win this sucker by acing both dances tomorrow. I think she will get the most viewer votes.

Erin does have dance experience. She grew up taking dance lessons, as they showed last week. I wish they would have contestants who ALL had no dance experience whatsoever. It would be much more fair, and I would like to see how much all would grow.

The problem with this idea is that a large number of major celebrities do have some type of dance experience, so they'd be limiting themselves greatly if they did that. There is a huge difference between the styles of dance that they have learned though and ballroom dancing. I really dont think Nicole's dance experience is the only thing that makes her good. She is good because she is a natural dancer and has very good dancing physical ability.
