2009: The Year Of The Disgraced Politician. (Has anyone considered that all these governors may be getting themselves in trouble just to see if it leads to the Race?) Looks like the GOP backers showed up in numbers that were just sufficient enough to keep a poor performer (and poorer speaker) in the competition. Well, the last couple of elections did show a distinct tendency towards Voting For The Worst...I'm not sure what he's doing here. Out to prove ability has nothing to do with ultimate victory? Been done. Trying to root out liberals in Hollywood by going among them, not even remotely undercover? Okay, he found liberals in Hollywood: now what? Wanted to dance with a young woman and not have his former constituency (not to mention his family) kill him? Indulging that long-repressed side of him that's spend decades dying for a chance to wear rhinestones in public? Waiting for the right moment to detonate the bomb? He did say he'd kill someone on Big Brother if he was stuck in that cage, which really makes me wish we could drop back a few months and introduce him to Natalie: she would have gotten engaged that much sooner...
Whatever his reason, we could wind up with a Master P(olitician) situation on our hands: people mindlessly voting in droves for the person they feel their culture orders them to back, with no consideration for what's actually happening on the screen. (Draw your own connection line.) Sure, it may look like he's close to the bottom of the vote -- but it could look that way for a month or more.
Give him this: he's making some kind of effort. In that, he's already surpassed a number of last-place (and up) finishers on this show. But as far as the producers are concerned, he's here to grab a ratings segment: nothing more. And as far as he's concerned...
...who knows?
We should probably be worried about that.

Maybe he's waiting to trigger his own wardrobe malfunction and get the evil librul network taken off the air?
Disgraced politicians (and/or their wives when the judge won't let them leave the country) are only doing it because Obama had one too many press conferences?I figured out there wasn't much line between the attention seeking of entertainers and politicians back when actors and other entertainers started running for office. I'm surprised it took this long for things to go in the other direction.
At least so far it only seems to be ones that have no hope of any further political career and just need a camera on them to make their day complete. I seriously doubt anyone will be able to relaunch a political career through reality TV.
Pure ratings grab by the producers. P*sses me off.We were shocked by the jerk's charisma; but, charisma is what gets politicians elected, so we shouldn't be too surprised.
