Please keep all comments of those who had time to dance, those that are too hurt to dance, and those who have had no time to practice to dance here until the West Coast can finally get the drek from the Worst Band in the Land out of their ears....... As well as the junk that the Sam-bot spews out as well.......

If you do that, remember that it's going to run over 2 minutes into the premiere of Castle, so set extra time!

gack! Well, at least you'll be spared the Semi-Annual Great Argentine Tango Disaster

I think everyone else is breathing a sigh of relief that they will be spared the semi-annual Qwertypie rant about the massacred Argentine Tango.

LAST EDITED ON 03-09-09 AT 06:57 PM (EST)

Well, cats and kittens, we begin another season of spangles, glitter and fringe. Bare chests, unbuttoned shirts and very, very well fitted trousers (can you tell I'm glad Maks is back).

Drink of the night

In keeping with the cheap shots that will most assuredly follow ....Box wine. The finest box wine, the $65 for a 3ltr box, box wine.

Snack of the night

Also in keeping with this premier night....cheese platter with smoked salmon. Cheesy outfits and fishy dance technique.

MMMMMMMMmmmmmmm Salmon. Yum!

Let's first bring out those who survived the training sessions!

"Lil Kim and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:06 PM
She first watched DWTS when she was in the slammer.

He is our DEFENDING DWTS CHAMPION!

She wants to be a "Black Barbie"

She's gonna eat him up and spit him out!

Dedicating the dance to her peeps back in the slammer!

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Janet Jackson's "Nasty"

"RE: Lil Kim and Derek"
Posted by Snidget on 03-09-09 at 07:07 PM
Is this our first dedication to people in prison?

Pretty good, I think a bit too much posing and not quite enough dancing.

"RE: Lil Kim and Derek"
Posted by Loree on 03-09-09 at 07:11 PM
Yes, I thought she did alot of posing. She would strike a pose and then wiggle.

LAST EDITED ON 03-09-09 AT 07:09 PM (EST)

I really want to hate her ... but she is clearly working hard on this. She is taking this very seriously. Got to get past the plastic surgery, though. It's not as if she needed it. She must really want to be the "Black Barbie".

"RE: Lil Kim and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:09 PM
Sounds like the judges liked the dance.

They're keeping the Replacements hidden until the pimp spots (and to give them more time to practice....)

Also, the first elimination is next week.

Scores: 7~7~7 for a slot machine 21!

"Belinda and Jonathan"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:14 PM
She was a member of the Go Go's

He wants to show that nice guys finish first!

Belinda apparently has problems with spinning..... and processing too much information!

Dancing the Waltz to "Love, Sweet Love" (What the World Needs Now is Love, Sweet Love)

"RE: Belinda and Jonathan"
Posted by Snidget on 03-09-09 at 07:15 PM
Poor thing, that looked really stiff.

"RE: Belinda and Jonathan"
Posted by whimsey on 03-09-09 at 07:17 PM
Lovely gown, don't have much faith in her, though.

"RE: Belinda and Jonathan"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:17 PM
Nasty shot from Bruno: First spin was like Julie Andrews, after that Cloris Leachman (ouchie)

Scores: 6~6~5 for a total of 17.......

"RE: Belinda and Jonathan"
Posted by Loree on 03-09-09 at 07:20 PM
At times it looked like Jonathon was really directing her with his hand and actually holding her up.

"RE: DWTS#8, Episode 1, ECST"
Posted by Loree on 03-09-09 at 07:24 PM
Shawn seemed to slip when she was walking down the stairs to be introduced.

"Lawrence and Edyta"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:24 PM
He was at one time the NFL's all-time sack leader. (He was also in a WrestleMania...) Also, he's a 2-time Super Bowl Champion!

She is infamous for wearing not a heck of a lot....

He thinks he dances better than Jason Taylor who she took to the finals last year at this time...... he's actually scared to death to be on the dance floor!

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Walkin' (?)

"RE: Lawrence and Edyta"
Posted by Snidget on 03-09-09 at 07:26 PM
That was OK, not great, but OK.

"RE: Lawrence and Edyta"
Posted by whimsey on 03-09-09 at 07:28 PM
He really needs to relax and have fun. Emmitt is a hard act to follow. It kinda looks like he watched tapes of Emmitt and Jason and gave up. He's older than both of them by some years.

Just relax and enjoy.

"RE: Lawrence and Edyta"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:30 PM
Scores: 6~5~5 for a total of 16 Oofa.

"RE: Lawrence and Edyta"

At least he was smiling.

"RE: Lawrence and Edyta"
Posted by StarryLuna on 03-09-09 at 07:35 PM
Is Edyta planning to wear a little less with each dance? Because she was wearing quite a bit (for Edyta) tonight.

"Steve-O and Lacey"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:34 PM
Team Wildchild has arrived!!!!!!!!

He is literally a Jacka$$.

She's the rebel of the ballroom.

He's sober, a tattoo needs to be blurred, and he's not doing well in practice.....

Dancing the Waltz to "Vito's Waltz" (per the CC)

They start with him doing a handstand and her pulling him over! Will that be considered a lift?

"RE: Steve-O and Lacey"
Posted by Snidget on 03-09-09 at 07:35 PM
That really was much better than I expected. I think he could have a lot more potential than I would have expected.

"RE: Steve-O and Lacey"

They haven't learned their lessons!!!!!!

The interactive Macy's Stars of Dance returns! We get to pick the dance type this week......

It was entertaining, but not very good technically.

Scores: 6~5~6 for a total of 17

"RE: Steve-O and Lacey"
Posted by Loree on 03-09-09 at 07:41 PM
Didn't know who he was. At least he is trying. But he doesn't really have alot of talent.

"Gilles and Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:43 PM
He was in Sex in the City movie. (Naked Neighbor)

She is a 2-time DWTS Champion.

He figures that he's probably the least known of the stars this season. (He might be right, even over the two replacements....)

"RE: Gilles and Cheryl"

I guess DWTS got a new studio as well this year.......

Scores: 8~8~8 for 24 and our new leaders

I think the Sam-bot and a few women in the audience need a coolant change........

The replacements will be up soon.... as well as the cute couple of the dance floor......

"Why exactly "
Posted by StarryLuna on 03-09-09 at 07:48 PM
are Chuck Wicks and Julianne dressed like a bride and groom? They haven't been dating that long have they?

"RE: Why exactly "
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:55 PM
The Waltz is the more formal of the two dances tonight.......

"Chuck and Julianne"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:53 PM
Real-life couple, she's a two-time champion.....

This could make or break this couple.........

Dancing the Waltz to Are You Lonesome Tonight?

"RE: Chuck and Julianne"

He could have some really nice lines when he gets it together.

Was that a lift?

"RE: Chuck and Julianne"

Lift cop Carrie Ann says YES

"RE: Chuck and Julianne"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 07:57 PM
Scores: 6~7~7 for a total of 20 (Carrie Ann at least deducted a point for that lift.....)

"RE: Chuck and Julianne"
Posted by Loree on 03-09-09 at 07:59 PM
He seemed a bit flat footed to me. I think their backstage stuff could get kind of annoying.

"RE: Chuck and Julianne"
Posted by whimsey on 03-09-09 at 08:07 PM
Truly annoying. Does Julianne always need a gimmick? First it was her brother, then the surgery, now the record promotion boyfriend.

"Holly and Dmitri"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 08:02 PM
She is replacing Jewel.

Holly was one of Hef's girlfriends until recently.......

She only had about 4 days of practice.

Dmitri is another refugee from SYTYCD

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Just Dance?

"RE: Holly and Dmitri"
Posted by Snidget on 03-09-09 at 08:03 PM
Yep, Just Dance.

Dmitri(sigh)

Given how little practice time she's had that wasn't bad, she might have some potential.

"RE: Holly and Dmitri"
Posted by skye on 03-09-09 at 08:04 PM
To me so doesn't seem to have any natural rhythm.

And the score was far too generous.

"RE: Holly and Dmitri"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 08:04 PM
The Bottom 2 will be actually revealed all season, and will compete in a Dance-Off to try to improve their judge's scores!

Scores: 6~6~6 for a total of 18 which is better than some peeps who have practiced the full length.....

"RE: Holly and Dmitri"
Posted by Loree on 03-09-09 at 08:11 PM
Considering she hasn't had the practise it is hard to tell how well she will do in the future.

Awwww, I want Dmitri to stick around awhile, but Holly was pretty stiff. Reminded me a little of Derrick Hough's partner from a season or two ago, Elizabeth ________ (something), who had zero natural rhythym. (*how do you spell that word?!!!)

Melissa only had 48 hours to practice. Tom hopes that this Monday goes better than last Monday..... (First she got engaged to the most recent Bachelor, then he dumps her on the first After the Final Rose special........)

Ty is known as the King of the Rodeos

Chelsie is another SYTYCD refugee.

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Stand by Me (modern version)

"RE: Ty and Chelsie"

Your never ready, it is just your turn.

Awfully stiff, but he's definitely a good sport.

"RE: Ty and Chelsie"

I really like him.

"RE: Ty and Chelsie"

The poor guy seemed so lost at times on the dance floor.

"Shawn and Mark"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 08:19 PM
She is the youngest ever competitor and an Olympic Gold Medalist

He won DWTS last Spring and he wants that Disco Ball Trophy BACK!

Dancing the Waltz to ??? (Sounds like it should be from a Disney Film, I think?) Is It You I Should've Loved All Along?

Ladies and gentlemen your #1 contenders!

"RE: Shawn and Mark"
Posted by Snidget on 03-09-09 at 08:19 PM
You can tell she's good at knowing where her body parts are at all times, great posture.

Definitely a contender for the finale.

"RE: Shawn and Mark"

"Steve and Karina"

Karina has her work cut out for her......

"RE: Steve and Karina"

"RE: Steve and Karina"

Entertaining? Yes. Technical? Uhhhhhh No.

Scores: 5~4~4 for a total of 13 and the newest person in DFL!

"David Alan and Kym"

She was runner-up last season, and she wants the trophy badly!

"RE: David Alan and Kym"

I thought he would dance like a comedian. I think he would be tough to judge. David is an intellectual, and an artist with a scary, self distruct side. Let's see how this plays out.

Not sure how much of that is I can't stand her. She didn't seem to be dancing with Maxim.

She went from being engaged to the Bachelor to being dumped to being a teacher to being a last-minute replacement for Nancy. She's literally only had 48 hours of practice, and they filmed her doing a last minute practice session out by the trailers during the show!

He had good chemistry with Nancy, until her knee buckled......

Dancing the Waltz to Moon River

"RE: Melissa and Tony"
Posted by Snidget on 03-09-09 at 08:58 PM
LOL Tom says she just happy to have fun on NBC.

She's got some natural talent, and probably some dance training from the cheerleading thing so she did pretty well.

"RE: Melissa and Tony"
Posted by vince3 on 03-09-09 at 08:59 PM
I think her being a cheerleader in her past helped her out in that dance....... also Ballet in her past as well......

Scores: 8~7~8 for a total of 23 and a tie for 2nd!

"RE: Melissa and Tony"
Posted by Loree on 03-09-09 at 09:03 PM
I think Melissa was lucky she had the waltz. It was easier for her to master so quickly. She has the fan support so she will be safe no matter what.
