Please keep all discussion of the criticisms Ian has to listen to on this thread until the West Coast gets to see what the judges drag out for him this week. (At the rate we've been going, we're about three dances away from a review of 'So what? I'd like to see you try it with one leg.')

Where are the East Coasters? I just went over to FORT and got a recap of the first round of dancers, but then got bounced out of the site. Sounds like Apolo opens it up with a dandy quick step!

What are they dancing to? OH MY GAWD -- it's a horrible version of maneater (as if the Nelly Furtado version isn't bad enough!)

He still dances like Charlie Chaplin.

Who picks their songs? I definitely would not do a tango to this

Len overrated this one. He probably realized that he got Ian a lot of sympathy votes last week. I'm glad he's loosening up, but this dance wasn't a 10.

I thought Laila was really out of sync with Maks, and that he was just forcing her around the dance floor, but the judges continue to cut the final woman in the competition slack.

I didn't know that you can wiggle your bum and not be in sync with your partner and it is quickstep. My bad

Both in fushia. It was good, but lacked crispness (JMHO)

He starts in a yeloow fedora and coat (ala Mask), she is in a tiny black little dress (hubby approves!)

Fantastic! Excellent choreography all the tricks flowed rather than sticking out like a sore thumb.

Too bad the judges were so loose with the 30's *COUGH Laila Cough*.

I called in for Joey tonight. I used my 5 votes from my land line, then my 5 votes from my cell. I started in on DH's cell, but it took me so long to get through the busy signals that I only got one more vote in before my time zone ended.

Apolo #1 - 30
Ian #1 - 27
Laila #1 - 25
Joey #1 - 30

I think Joey won the night. So the final rankings would be:

1.) Joey - 60

Ian was robbed !!!! Laila has not been near as good as him. Her fan vote is what is carrying her - fans of her dad. Oh, well, this isn't brain surgery.... Ian was a real class act and at least he got his "30". I think he feels like he did a perfect job by getting that score.

It was fun seeing Len visit everyone at the studio - he can still kick it with the best of them.

Let's see what everyone can come up with next week - freestyle is always a crap shoot - I am wondering if Laila will get all artsy fartsy and do too much interpretive dance. Joey will be bouncing off the walls and Apolo will be super athletic. I am actually looking forward to a Monday!!
