WOO and HOO! Another episode is here. Let's chat it up.
brak, brak, brak.
I hate the recrap.
The minute Darlene talked about loving her teammates. You just knew she was the one getting switched. The Crafty Beavers took Darlene because they hope the other team will fall apart without her as a mediator.
I think Darlene is talented. That's why Crafty Beavers chose her.Plus, she knows how to play on a team. I hope she goes far.

I hope they deliberately made those rooms that disgusting so the teams had to clean them. I would hate to think that is how people really behave at an Inn.
There is no way you get that much hair clumped around a room unless you are running a barbershop! The bathrooms look genuinley filthy though, I'd almost hate to know just what they did if indeed they messed those up ahead of time...
<almost hate to know just what they did if indeed they messed those up ahead of time...To get a tub that dirty, they'd have to roll in mud, then use bath oil in the water.

OK the guests are deliberately being demanding. Candace especially. But I am a bit confused about how both teams are running the same inn. It will be interesting how they decide which team did what.
I have been impressed with Darlene! Her food looked wonderful!
I agree about Darlene. She could win it for the Crafty Beavers all by herself. And I think her absence hurts the Artisan team.
I saw those appetizers and was like DAMN! You go girl!
I almost felt sorry for Margo...almost!
Nope. I am still hoping Margo is booted.
I said almost! I hope she goes as well!Oh wait...they are voting, I guess I will find out:
Margo is booted!
WOO and HOO!
LAST EDITED ON 02-05-05 AT 08:57 PM (EST)Margo bolted out with not even a nod to the two that voted her out! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
She had that smile that almost scared me. I am very happy she is gone.
<happy she is gone.
Yeah, she doesn't have much to back up that huge ego of hers. But then, neither does Kimberly. I absolutely cannot stand her.

Prior to this episode I was sympathetic to Margo, mainly because I despised Kimberly so much. But Margo self-destructed, and Kimberly will go soon too. You don't want a "style maker" to be so argumentative and rude. The girl on the other team that made the chicken pot pie also seems worthless. Isn't she the one that made the dessert for the outdoor party which was labeled inedible?
Of the judges, I think Bobby Flay is the only nice one. He made sure to give some positive feedback, and is more interested in teaching (showing Margo how to poach an egg) than in saying "gotcha" like the other judges. The other two have only damaged their own reputations by their behavior on this show.

<more interested in teaching (showing Margo how to poach an egg) than in saying "gotcha"You've nailed the reason I don't like the judges. Bushnell couldn't even attempt to do what the contestants do, but she's enjoying being in the catbird seat way too much.
At least Flay and the other guy have a skill set appropriate to the task that they bring to the judging.

Actually it seems to me that there is plenty of "dead wood" left.Kimberly--yes, she was right about the poached egg, but all she does is gloat and she offended the judges with her cap. Haven't seen her do anything, really.
Heather--keeps screwing up, made awful chicken pot pie, the most useless contestant left.
Dawn--Well, she made a nice wreath. But I haven't seen Dawn contribute much either.

Heather--keeps screwing up, made awful chicken pot pie, the most useless contestant left.Heather is good for one thing - making people laugh their asses off when she talks about how great a cook she is, and how talented. Yeah, Heath, it took tons of talent to make that fug apple lampshade. And sweetie? your brownies sucked too.
Oddly enough, i am starting to like Darlene.

Good grief - that lopsided, bottom heavy citrus wreath Margo created looked like something I'd do. That is not a compliment, as I am totally incompetent when it comes to arts and crafts.I know the judges have been told to be picky, but must they be so incredibly obnoxious about it?

It seemed like Candace was going out of her way to hate everything tonight. I hope she isn't really like that when she visits an inn.
<Candace was going out of her way to hate everythingShe certainly was, and she was enjoying every minute of it.
I think that's what bothers me about the judges - they are giddy with the joy of being able to put others down. They should act more professional. Cattiness does not work.

I think week by week they are improving this show - I was actually pretty happy this time and might even start recommending other people watch it.I thought they spent a decent amount of time showing us people working on individual projects, and what people were doing as part of teams. I also liked they showed us the range of judges opinions on all the projects, though I guess perhaps that's only natural as there are fewer to judge. I'm not sure I saw much of the Crafty Beaver wreaths though, which is odd as it would seem to telegraph who was going to loose. I'll have to watch for that next week.
I also found that although I was rooting for Artisan in past episodes, I found myself after the first fifteen minutes rooting for Crafty Beavers instead! I guess my admiration of Darlene is stronger than my mild annoyance with Mitch.
And speaking of Darlene, she seemed really good this week. Not just in her skills at cooking which came off rather well, but generally she was a lot more likable than she has been in the past. I think she was suffering from some weird team dynamics and being in a team that trusts what she does and listens to her ideas (so far), she is much more relaxed and therefore not annoying.
I was thinking before Darlene was one of the stronger players, but after this week I really find myself hoping she'll win and believe she has a good shot.
And, although I feel sorry for Margo I'm glad she is gone. She just could not come to terms with not being as good a cook as she thought she was, and therefore returning again and again to food to try and prove herself at cooking.
To paraphrase Clint Eastwood: "A woman's got to know her limitations". If she had taken advice from others, or just let the cooking thing go for a little while she would have done much better. But this week she dug Team Artisan a grave with the cooking, as I feel like they might have had a pretty good shot of winning otherwise (unless the judges were told who was away from the phone when they tried to call as it was always Team Artisan!).
I also feel at this point that all the people with obvious weaknesses are gone, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with pretty mcuh all the dead-weight removed (though the two on Team Artisan that don't seem to do well without sleep might have more troubles ahead).

I have noticed this in previous shows. They spend more time showing the individual crafts of the team that will lose. When we only saw Artisan's wreathes I knew they were going to lose. It was obvious why they had showed that.
I agree Loree. When I did the summary I too noticed that they concentrate on the team that loses.
Just saw it this morning.Darlene definately is one of the stronger, if not the strongest. A little annoying, but she really appears to be an "all around" kind of gal.
Wonder why David felt so nausiated when he arrived. Must have been because he showed up with a woman.
Candace is the most annoying of all of the judges. She wants to use her own sheets, but she wants the bigger bed. She should have brought 2 damn sets if she was going to be so picky. I wonder if the Beavers washed those sheets before putting them on the bed -- they looked brand spanking new to me.
And Bobby and his showing up late. He seems to have a thing for that.
The rooms looked deliberately set up to be dirty. How about that one bathtub? Please.
Margo's wreath was hideous, Denise's overdone. I liked Dawn's. It was simple, but I thought it was probably the best one. I wish we had seen the other team's.
Glad Margo is gone. If I had to hear about her kids one more time, I was going to scream. It's not a sympathy contest.
I did find it interesting that they voted her off 2-1. I wonder if they had tied it up who the judges would have picked.

Margo reminded me of the players that go on these shows and expect to win because they need the money more than anyone else. She was always playing the sympathy card. That annoys more than helps most of the time. All the players want to win for personal reasons. Why are her's more important?
<expect to win because they need the money more than anyone elsePerhaps Margo is one of Cowboy's relatives?
Agreed - the contest is based on skill and nothing else.

She should have brought 2 damn sets if she was going to be so picky.Although I agree about Candace - at the beginning of the show - Joan said the judges were purposely being large pains in the but. It was a test to see how the teams would respond, including the one that was late
<purposely being large pains in the butYes, but I think they were enjoying their roles a bit too much. There was a mean spirit in the way they approached the judging.

I want to know who is dressing Joan. I just shake my head half the time when I see her.
It HAS to be a straight man. Women and gay men have better fashion sense than what she is wearing!
Perhaps Wendy Pepper?I HATE the switch to Saturday; I keep missing the damn thing. No, I don't have a VCR. No, I don't have Tivo.

<Perhaps Wendy Pepper?Bwahahahaha! She is rather sad, isn't she? Give that woman some Prozac and a personality change - QUICK!
