They showed the origins of Dana and Mary Alices story. Diedre sold Dana to the Youngs and then came back several years later lookin for him.
LAST EDITED ON 05-22-05 AT 09:07 PM (EST)my ISP is going in and out so I dont know if I'll be able to keep up a running commentary.
The girls go visit Bree at the hospital, Susan tells everyone about the blackmail. Zach is pissed at Felicia cause his dad's not coming back and hits her with something. I think he may kill her.
Susan is freaking out over not being able to get in touch with Mike. Susan tells him he needs to give it to the police. We dont know where he is though but it shows him out in the country somewhere.
ETA: we see Paul in the back of his truck bound and gagged so Mike's got him but we dont know what he's gonna do with him yet.
Great job so far!WOW! I think we have more questions answered in the first segment of the show than the entire season.
What is Mike going to do with Paul?
Gabby is being somewhat nice to Carlos. Tells him that she'll stick around if he helps take care of the baby. He'll have to do most of the work. He asks her about breastfeeding....she tells him if he can pull that one off, more power to him.Tom tells Lynnette that he quit work after she catches him playing video games at a chucky cheese type place in the middle of the day. She wants to do home and talk about it but he doesn't want to. Tom is really pissed at Lynette.
Rex is apologizing to Bree for all the stupid things he's done and she accepts. She tells him she knows he'll make it through the operation just fine cause the best is yet to come.
Susan's husband is being a dyck to her about Mike and her moving in with him. He has the nerve to mention living in sin, at which susan reminds him that last she checked Adultry still counted too.
Zach evidently hit Ms. Huber's sister over the head with a hockey stick. Now Zach is in Mike's house with a gun and Susan just went in and he asked her to sit down.Is Zach going off the deep end here. Man he has problems!
I am getting kinda 'tired' of Lynette.... I can't wait to see if she becomes a barracuda when she gets back to working in her field.... I bet the kids will be 'perfect' with Tom- who obviously can relate to kids....... at least while trying to shill them at fooseball-lol, that was too funny!
holy shit, Zack was waiting in Susan/Mikes house with a gun. I think he killed Felicia but probably not until AFTER she told him where his father might be.
LAST EDITED ON 05-22-05 AT 09:31 PM (EST)So Diedre IS Zack's mom! I knew watching daytime soaps would pay off some day!
Does this mean Mike is his biological father as I jokingly suspected?

I don't know if Mike will be his dad but it may be the way he talks Zach out of shooting him!
before or after he kills Paul. The spoilers sayb Paul doesn't die so something has to be up.
Well, if Mike gets back into town with Zach then it would have to be after he does something to Paul. Maybe he (Mike) thinks Paul is dead but he isn't!
??? did I miss that? or is that spoiler info for next season??/
the jury's still out on the actual father. But Diedre was most defnitely Dana/Zack's mom. We think the policeman she was screwing may be the dad.
I wonder if that would be the one who beat up Mike.... ???
I wonder if that would be the one who beat up Mike.... ???Nope, Mike killed the policeman that raped Diedre.
what a tragic girl.... I'm not really liking Mary Alice ...that whole family is just messed up .... how could Dana/Zach even have had a chance??
Edie comes over while Zachs got Susan held hostage. She's warning the neighbors about Felicia being attacked not knowing that Zachs got a gun in her back. She tries to tell Edie that shes got a gun in her back but Edie doesn't get it so she tells her just to get the hell away. Zach knows that Mike took his dad to kill him, so he plans to kill Mike.
Gabby's in court standing up for Carlos telling the judge that she pretended to be having an affiar to make Carlos jealous and that's why he beat up the gay guy. AND in come John and tells Carlos he beat up the wrong guy. "Dont you think it's strange that your house is the only one on wisteria lane that needed to be mowed three times a week". Carlo flips out in the courtroom and they think he'sn going after the gay roommate again.
Good for Tom! Put Lynette back to work...I lvoe it!
If my husband quit his job and announced that I had to go back to work, he would be able to sing with the Vienna Boys Choir. Of course, Tom thinks it's going to be a breeze.
LAST EDITED ON 05-22-05 AT 09:44 PM (EST)I am sure you would not conspire behind his back to make sure your husband doesn't get a promotion!
well she pretty much helped him lose it. He did give her credit saying she was better at the job than he is anyway so maybe she'll enjoy herself. It will be interesting to see tom struggle with the kids next season.
sorry but she sucks as a mother... (imvho)I have been running our store by myself since last July -my husband had a stroke and .. I just can't imagine my kid (who IS ADHD) stealing things from neighbors etc and acting as freakiy as he kids do... and he has delt with alot on his little plate... she had no control over little people.. I'm sure she is a mega controller of 'big' people.. heck look at how she controlled Toms life...
she was a fave character in the beginning but now I just see her as the 'Alexis' bad character of the show... Edie is more endearing than her- to me...
![]()
well.. the situation is irregular... I doubt you would act like Lynette... who really would unless she was acting out a drama in her mind that she wanted to end up this way... I mean really!- talking to someones boss like that- it totally undermines a persons integrity and authority over their own life... she is supposed to be his wife not his mother.... Frankly I am surprised that he disn't tell her to take a hike and leave the house... she did undermine the family income...I think she has been such a ... uh.. whatever.. because she has been so ticked that Tom is nowhere near as good a business person as she is...
jmho
Bree gets the bad news and Rex dies thinking that Bree was the one that killed him. How sad. Bree is beside herself crying.I had written everything out for the TOm/Lynette episode but then my ISP kicked out again and I lost it all so hopefully vols will go into more detai.
I was so overtaken by emotion.... so was DH... If this were a drama I'd say -send that in for an Emmy reel. wow- go Marcia...
my fave housewife! And I can't wait to see what happens when she gets snagged into the death and finally figures out it was the rejected guy who did in her beloved..... maybe it will be the sone who finally figures it out...?? good stuff.... compelling... much better than the sand dunes (what-ever!) imo....
Ok, so what if it was the son giving his the potassium to make it look like Bree did it? Remember what he said to the priest, something about getting back at Bree in a big way.

it was the pharmacy guy who messed with his Rx b/c he 'loves' Bree. at least that is what my take is on it.. I never seem to be able to sit/stand to watch the whole show...
so I could be way off base....?
I know that is what we saw, but that doesn't mean that is what happened. We could find out next season that their son was messing with him also.

hmm, yeah your right-I didn't consider that!![]()
...or does he?He seemed to think that she admitted to drugging him, and then he wrote her a note. Could he have faked is death to get back at her in the future? Doesn't that seem like a Marcia Cross activity (like from Melrose?)
thinking back on the eppy... Rex seemed pretty ill, if his death *were* faked I would think it was (his pal) the other Dr. who whisked him away to save him and implicate Bree after Rex passed out...
???
Susan should have said something like I'll get that book you loaned me back to you later! Just go away! Of course that would have been more than they could have packed into one episode I guess... hence the extra scene -that I'll prob. miss b/c I can't remember when it will be on!
LAST EDITED ON 05-22-05 AT 09:54 PM (EST)Mike's getting ready to kill Paul and Paul wants to know why. Mike tells him that he knows what they did to Diedre. Mike wants to know why they killed her. Paul tells him it's complicated.
Mary Alices voice tells us that Paul began to share her secrets , secrets she died to protect. They flashback to Diedre showing up at their door again.
She used her fathers money to track them down and had gotten herself cleaned up. Diedre called Mary Alice a self-righteous #####. Diedre wants Dana back and beats up paul with a golf club. Mary Alice in a fit of rage stabs Diedre and apparently kills her.
They bury her in Zack/Dana's toychest.
ETA: It was all Mary Alice's idea to bury her in the pool. Zach came down the stairs and saw the lifeless body on the floor.
Mike didn't know about the baby. Paul is ready to get it over with and have mike shoot him. It looks like Mike can't do it so he's just gonna leave him out in the dessert.
b/t/w that is really fricling sick to bury the kids hacked up mother in the kids toy chest.... I have NO sympathy for mary alice...
It ends with Mike walking into the house and Mary Alice in voice over saying not everybody gets the happy ending. It sounds like it's possible that Mike gets killed in the season opener next fall, or it could be zach.
Wow. What an episode. Never guessed that Mary Alice was the one who killed Dierdre. So, why did Mary Alice kill herself when she did?
My speculation: Mike is Zach's dad. He's knows that he was the only one to sleep with Dierdre. Unfortunately, Zach kills him first, and when Zach finds out who his real dad is (Mike, the guy he just killed), he kills himself. Or Mike could somehow stop Zach from killing him at first (more probable) and tell him the news.

What a season.

That would be something wouldn't it. I could see that happening if he DOES kill Mike. If he doesn't kill Mike somehow, then the cop that was raping Diedre to an exent turns out to be the daddy. I just dont see Mike and Zach as father and son.

LAST EDITED ON 05-23-05 AT 00:10 AM (EST)Yeah, I guess the double deaths would make sense. You would be getting rid of two characters whose stories had come full circle.
ETA: Well, Mike and Susan's storyline hasn't completed, but I guess it would with Mike's death.
Great Episode!!! Lots of answers. They can't kill Mike off until they explain why he killed a cop.
Almost felt bad for Bree, I thought the scene when she found out Rex died was touching.
Thanks for the summary CSTL.
they expained why Mike killed the cop. The cop could be Zach's father. He was trading favors with Diedre for keeping her out of jail or something to that affect. He raped her or something and somehow mike got involved and ended up killing him in self-defense. His story line is pretty much wrapped from that end so if they wanted to, they could kill him off, not to say that they will.
Ah, ya. Forgot about that.
They can't kill Mike off until they explain why he killed a cop.I thought Mike killed the cop because the cop was raping Deirdre?

Bounciness provided by IceCat!
Thanks for the info, I stand corrected. I must have missed it on the show, I thought it was just speculation out here.
Great season finale!first of all....as far as Mike getting killed,...I've heard several people say they read he already signed on for another year. They only promised one main character killed off....which we now know is Rex. However..the first thing I thought of is that next season we find out that Rex is really alive and that him and his doctor staged it to see if he gets better being away from Bree (since they think she is poisoning him). Of course, this whole story line irritates me anyway...with all the bloodwork they have done you would think they would be able to tell someone is *&^%$#*& with his medicine. Oh yeah, the pharmacist who hates him and loves his wife,,,,hmmmmm?
And just for good measure...I think Susan will jump between Zach and Mike when they fire at each other to protect Mike(they both have guns). One of them will shoot her in the shoulder or something. And whats up with the new "housewife" on the block?
I think the story line for the Rex/Bree thing will be that the doctors think Bree did kill Rex by giving him potassium and she will end up on trial for murder. It is sad that Rex had to die thinking it was Bree who killed him though.
- Sliced!
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn... that was fun!"

I agree that Bree will most likely wind up on trial for murder, at least it seems to be set up for that storyline.
I think Rex might be back as if speaking from the dead, like Mary Alice does.
I wonder how long the pharmacist will wait until he makes the moves on the new widow?
Silvergirl
Great finale!
Life is Good!
I knew it would be Rex. It makes me so sad.

Icey bounced my Dicey
I could swear that in one of the previews for the finale it showed Susan holding a gun in her house and saying "Should or shouldn't we give this to the police?" Am I crazy? I know it wasn't shown in last night's show and it could almost be something they decided to use for next season's cliff hanger.
I don't know if we actually saw Susan holding the gun. I think it was Zack holding the gun and then they did the voice over where she asked Mike about giving the diary to the police. Anyone else have a theory on this?
- Sliced!
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn... that was fun!"

Zach was holding the gun. The scene where Susan was saying shouldn't we give this to the police referred to the Diary. Mike said yeah I suppose we should but at that point he was in the dessert getting ready to dispatch of Paul.Kinda amazing that it was Mary Alice and not Paul that killed Diedre yet Paul found it easy to kill Ms. Huber and seemed ready to kill Felicia or Susan if they got too close to the secret. They certainly set him up to look evil and then brought him back down to a very human level last night.
and to end up with Zack.... not that there isn't goodness inside him.... it's just been buried... deep... really deep...way down... deep...
So...Betty and her son buy a house sight unseen, and they won't let the realtor in once they've moved in? Hmmm, what's their secret?Gut reaction - witness protection program.

My first impression was that even though they say they are mother and son they didn't seem like it. More like partners. The detective Susan hired may have sent them in undercover. The point Edie made about no one ever buying a house sight unseen before was made a little too strongly to be a coincidence. And the son seemed blind to Edie's charms and more interested in Susan, who just happened to be the only Wisteria Lane resident handy at the time.
Alas, we will just have to wait till next season.
Alchemist
My first impression was that even though they say they are mother and son they didn't seem like it. More like partners. The detective Susan hired may have sent them in undercover.Hate to blow your theory but I think the ones that other have posted above are more plausible. The guy Susan hired was the same guy Paul hired to find out who was blackmailing Mary Alice. Of course, Paul then killed her and when Susan hired the same guy to find out about Mike, he lied to protect Paul so it wouldn't make any sense at all for him to send spies in to check on the neighbors.
That and it would cost money and a Private Dick isn't likely to put out that kinda bread just to get leads.
Point taken, I hit and missed early episodes so thanks for the insight

Nothing is fool proof to a sufficiently talented fool.
My take on what's going to happen in the fall...Bree will be charged with killing Rex. His attending physician already suspects Bree, based on what Rex told him about their marital problems and about Bree being the only person to prepare his meals. Also, their daughter witnessed Bree stalling (making the bed) before taking Rex to the hospital with his heart attack. She said her dad was sitting on the stairs waiting for her, and she was upstairs slooooooowly making the bed. So, I think Bree's children will turn on her. I don't think the son was involved because you would have to know the effect of an increase in potassium, and you'd have to have access to the drug. The son wouldn't have either, IMO. Rex's note will also be introduced as evidence. "I know what you did and I understand and I forgive you" or some such. Rex was virtually pointing the finger at Bree. The Doc who called her would already have seen the note when he informed her of his death. Also, don't forget that Bree was very matter-of-fact on the phone when she got the news. She more or less said "thanks for calling!" before finishing the silver and then breaking down. The suspicious doc wouldn't have seen any grief on his end of the phone.
Lynette will go back to work and her hubby will become one of the "housewives," and I look forward to this because I like her hubby more.
Will he take her place at the poker table?
Did anyone else hear a "bang" when Mike went into the house? Was it the gun or the door closing? I'll bet it was the door closing. Mike is the latest TV hunk and they're not going to kill him off.
I hope Carlos doesn't go away to jail because he is one of my favourite characters. He's hilarious.
Agree, Frisky. I think it will be hilarious to see Tom at home with the kids.

Icey bounced my Dicey
Nope didn't hear a bang when he entered. I think it unlikely they kill him off too but they tried to make it sound like they were with the voiceover. Not everyone gets what they want or something to that effect.
was "and not everybody gets a happy ending."I wonder if that means Zach shot himself (or Mike) just as Mike was about to tell him he was his biological father.
We'll just have to wait and see. . . .

I think next season will be great, with Bree standing trial -- the dilemma that pharmacy guy will be in -- does he let her take the rap or keep quiet. Kids turn against her, everyone else believing she is guilty -- except for the other "wives" of course. She is one of my fave characters, so hope next season is more about Bree. Her breakdown was so great!! Marcia should get nominated for an Emmy or whatever.Just wondering if I am the only one who is getting so ANNOYED with Teri Hatcher/Susan. Yes, I get this is your big "comeback" -- you're not the only one on the show, chicklette. Her character and her real-life interviews are making me GAG.
Anywhoo, I also can't wait for Tom to become stay-at-home dad. Should prove entertaining and he'll fit in with the gals and be able to provide good input at their poker games, etc. Want to see his turn on dealing with those animals (I mean kids). Also, could be entertaining to see how Lynette changes when she gets back into "shark" mode in the advertising world.
I also hope Carlos's stint in prison isn't too long. He and Gabby play so well off each other, I think taking him out of the picture will hurt her character.
Just my four cents' worth.

Hi CattyChat, welcome!I think I may be in the minority here but I don't like Bree's character at all. I never liked her on Melrose either though, so maybe it just carried over. Frankly, the look she always has on her face makes me think she is about to morph into an alien or something. (yes, I know how superficial that is of me)
I am a little indifferent about Terri Hatcher but I do kinda like her as Susan. She could improve her parenting skills a bit though.
Tom and Lynette switching roles is going to be GREAT! I can't wait!

It's odd after watching the pilot again for the first time and you pick up on things you missed (or actually couldnt have known at the time)...like how Mrs Huber finds Mary Alice by going to return her blender. Upon seeing her dead she walks back to her kitchen, franctically calls 911, and then cool as a cucumber rips off the piece of tape that says Mary Alice on the blender and puts it away in her cupboard with just a hint of smirk (while voice over Mary Alice talks about how Mrs Huber always could see the bright side in things). Then I remembered..down the line that blender is what Paul uses to crack her skull open when he confronts her about the blackmail.
You've got to love the irony of that!Anyway...what I really wanted to get on her and say was a lot people in the thread are looking forward to the role changes with Lynette and Tom next season. I will have to admit my opinion of both of them has changed back and forth throughout the season. I myself do not have children. I have cats. Much easier. Much quieter. There are things I dislike/like about this couple,...but I think Tom is going to schit his pants when he gets a full dose of those maniacs on a full time basis. I think one of the funniest scenes of the series happened in the pilot when Tom came home from the road for one day and wanted to make love real quick....she told him there was a problem with her birth control so he would have to use a rubber. He scrunched his nose and said "oh lets just risk it". She looks at him incredulously and yells "lets risk it?" and BAM! socker puches him in the jaw. I think that was a NO, Tom. This show is a Hoot!
Oh I'd forgotten about that scene~ it was priceless thanks for reminding meI wonder how this will play into the hints we have had about Tom's secrets... ???
