"So glad she said no"

I heard an entertainment report this morning which had the claim that another actress was offered Teri Hatcher's part but said no because she would have to dye her hair.

The actress? Pamela Anderson.

Am I the only one who think she would have completely sucked in that part?

I make this look good.

I could see her as Edie though.

That's the same thing I thought. What the heck were they thinking?

I'm amazed they went from Pamela Anderson to Terri Hatcher. Not quite...similar, are they?
And, I personally think Pamela would suck at ANY part. Ehr..that sounded wrong. Still true, but wrong.

Not only would she have sucked at that part, I would not have wanted to see her as Edie, either. In anything she has been in I have found her to be Pamela Anderson playing the part of whomever, rather than the character she was supposed to be. The casting they have on Desparate Housewives now is just inspired, and I'm glad it ended up being them.

I tried to imagine Pamela doing that scene with Mike where Susan was naked in the bushes. My mental picture was just too awful to contemplate.

I agree that she probably wouldn't have been a good choice. I'd go as far as saying the show would have immediatly lost credibility once her name was in the opening credits. I just don't take her seriously.

According to E's Kristin, who's talked to folks connected on the show, this was just publicity gossip dribbled by Pam's folks. The show's creators insist that they wrote the part of Susan with Teri Hatcher in mind.
