Several years ago there ws an interesting sci fi YV show called Odysee 5. The basic plot was that the Earth implodes while 5 astronauts are on a mission circling the earth. The astronauts are the only survivors. An alien rescues the astronauts and allows their current consciousness to go back 5 years in time to try and stop the destruction of the Earth.

Last night, I suddenly realized that Lost seems to be following the Odysee 5 plotline.
