Are you guessing that the episode guide will give us clues to the Oceanic Six. So far we know about Jack, Kate and Hurley. Three more to go and the next episode is about Sayid.

Hidden Text:
Read somewhere that this episode features Sayid in Germany in a flashforward. If it is a flashforward then we'll know he's one of the oceanic six.

Also very intriqued with the episode "Meet Kevin Johnson". Perhaps that is the Ben's "man on the boat". There were rumblings that the Oceanic Six might be more than six.

yeah- I wondering if the Oceanic 6 are
Jack
Kate
Hurley
Sayid
Sun
Jin

and if Michael is the body in the coffin- he was from New York wasn't he?

Does the person in the coffin count as one of the Oceanic 6?

don't know- my guess is no since Kate didn't seem to care

maybe Michael or one of the freighter people?

Not only did Kate seem to not care, she seemed upset at whoever it was. Like she didn't go because it was someone she really disliked. Maybe Micheal because they feel like he betrayed them?

I am really leaning toward Micheal being the guy in the coffin and that he is NOT one of the Oceanic Six because he is already on the freighter. I believe that there was an interview with Michael Emerson (Ben) and he indicated that there could be more than six that we KNOW out there.

Hope you don't mind if I jump in on the discussion.

My thought is it's Sawyer in the coffin. The "him" Kate told Jack she had to go back to is her son, and she didn't want to go see Sawyer in the coffin, because he betrayed her when he chose to follow Locke.

I am thinking Sawyer’s "always surviving" leads him off the island sometime after the initial Oceanic 6.

Not to be stereotypical, but the funeral took place in a seemingly black neighborhood. Me thinks that is a clue that it is Michael or Walt. I'm leaning towards Michael.

I kept hoping it was good old Ben in the coffin, but after last night... I guess not

"Juliet?"

Can it possibly be Juliet in the coffin? Would make sense, since Jack was the only one who showed up. When Jack asked Kate about the 'funeral',
she replied "Why would I go to the funeral?" ... with a little despise in her tone.

"Coffin - Obit Refresher"

Here's a refresher of our discussion about the coffin from the Season 3 thread:

Image:

Possible Text:
"The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue. Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's loft. Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room. According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son. Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening."

Thanks for the links TriGirl! Somehow I missed the obit -- I guess it makes sense not to be Sawyer, but I'm still not quite on the Michael bandwagon . . . yet.

What if Kevin Johnson is Michael? His teenage son is Walt?

If they are not part of the Oceanic 6, as they left the island on the boat, perhaps they changed their identity when they got back?

We now know that Aaron gets off the Island, as Kate's Son? But is he part of the Oceanic 6 or not?

And who are the two who survivied the crash but did not get off the island that Jack mentions in Court?

Jin/Sun? Boone/Shannon? Claire/Charlie? Rose/Husband?

I'm leaning toward Claire being one of the two. They have to explain how Kate has a baby when she wasn't pregnant at the time of the crash. It also explains why the lawyer wanted to get into a character discussion. The story Jack was presenting in court was a bunch of lies to make it look like Kate was the heroic one who saved the 8. It would make sense as part of that backstory to have Kate "save" Claire and then promise to raise her baby when Claire "didn't survive". That would make Claire look good and also explain why she was raising someone else's baby as her own.

Michael Ausiello on TVGuide.com is saying that Aaron is NOT one of the Oceanic 6.

that makes sense- I'm thinking anyone considered one of the "Oceanic Six" must have been on the 815 manifest- so no Desmond, or Juliet

I'm also really thinking the 2 that don't make it are Jin and Claire- but just speculation on my part

This site appears to be off on a couple things so I am not sure they know the final 6.

"ABC Promo Confirms Oceanic 6"
Posted by trigirl on 04-03-08 at 06:07 PM
Have you seen the ABC promo that says something like "Now that we know who the Oceanic 6 are..."
then shows Jack, Hurley, Sun, Sayid, Aaron and Kate
"you will soon find out how they got off the Island"
then you see a shot of Hurley holding Aaron and you hear gunfire and he says "is that Claire's house?".

How many more sleeps?
