We had this thread a while ago, but I thought I'd bring it back now that it's been a whole season since it was around. After a few weeks, I'll tally up the results and see what the average rankings are.

I'll even include characters that have been killed off, just because. A complete list, as given on the Lost official website at abc.com:

My rankings. I'll only include comments on a few:

1. Kate - Love her, hope they do more flashbacks of her.
2. Sun - Most interesting storyline of everyone.
3. Ana-Lucia - I liked her despite her being kinda b*tchy at times. Too bad she's dead =\
4. Hurley
5. Sayid
6. Sawyer
7. Libby - I thought her character was so interesting. Are they still planning on showing her story through other people's flashbacks, or no?
8. Juliet - Intentions are definitely very ambiguous, and she's not very likeable b/c I think she's so fake, but her character is definitely a good one to follow.
9. Shannon - Poor Shannon. I liked her, and I miss her. =(

11. Desmond
12. Eko
13. Rose/Bernard
14. Claire
15. Jack - All his incessant "I'm always right" crap gets on my nerves. He was one of my favorites at the start, but once it got into his whole condescending crap towards Locke, I was just like...I'm done with you.
16. Locke - I've never liked him, honestly. I wish he was gone from the show.
17. Boone - Never really saw the point of his existence on the show except to just end up dead.
18. Walt - Never added anything to the show except his whining, "Dad!!" all the damn time.
19. Ben - I know he's on the cast to be the bad guy. And that's why he's so low. I hate his stupid eye-twitching sh*t and what have you...I just wish AnaLucia would've killed him in the first place!
20. Charlie - Agghghghghghghhhhh most irritating one still on the show.
21. Michael - Was irritating, glad he's not officially on the cast this season. All I ever saw when he was on screen was this dumb look on his face and hearing, "I want my son back" every 2 seconds. Ugh.

I added 'Vincent' to my list because he was a major player in the first season. He was the second charactor we saw on the show after Jack woke up in the bamboo, and I lvoe labs.
.... I also grouped Jin/Sun together because they just seem to go hand in hand.

1. Eko -- Charismatic, mysterious, forced into being a murderous rebel & is "saved" and trying to right his wrongs & brother's death. Another character whom I can't wait for more back story on (enough of Jack, already)!

2. Sun - Nothing about her I don't like. Sun & Jin complete each other and I couldn't imagine either one without the other. When Jin returned to the camp last season after the failed escape by raft & meeting up with the tailies . . . the scene of Sun seeing him step onto the beach and the look on their faces. Just love it.

3. Jin - See above. So glad he didn't turn out to be a murderer, just a "strong-arming" enforcer type.

4. Sayid - What's not to love. Can't wait for more of his back story. He's the soldier/hero of the show. He's brave, but has humility and a conscience. Not a hard-headed *cough-Jack-cough* know-it-all.

5. Sawyer - This is my kind of bad guy. Love his sarcastic wit. Can't wait for more of his back story -- there's so much there to keep his character going.

6. Locke - Never saw last ep coming. I thought maybe Locke joined some weird commune, like the CUT out in Montana . . . very disappointed with the whole marijuana farm thing. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see if Locke was really going to shoot the undercover agent. Hunter of animals yes, but not a murderer. Can't wait for more on Locke's back story now.

7. Hurley - Adds humor to the show.

8. Kate - She's growing on me. Bugged me Season 1, but I'm liking her more & more. She's better with Sawyer than Jack -- enough with the triangle already!

9. Libby - I'm bummed she was killed off. I wanted to know why she was in the nut house & what her story was. She seemed really interesting & I was liking the little romance between her & Hurley. Producers blew it by killing her off so soon.

10. Vincent - Just a dog, but still better than many of the characters. Why not vocalize his thoughts? Probably more going on is his head than some of the other characters on the show. *Duke of "Bush's Baked Beans voice* "Roll that beautiful Dharma footage. I'll sell you the secret of the island . . ."

11. Black Cloud w/Creepy Noise - Where has it been? I want to see it on the hunt again.

12. Juliet - She's a real creepy villian & playing her part just right. Can't wait to find out more about her.

13. Ben - He's super creepy, but it is borderline campy. He needs to reel it in just a bit & quit over-acting.

14. Ana-Lucia - She was a bit much, but I thought she added some spice to the mix. I think I would have liked Jack more if Ana-Lucia got with him and straightened him out. Plus I was looking forward to a Kate v Ana smack down. That would have been hot!

15. Rose/Bernard - I was hoping for more on their past, but wonder if we'll ever get it.

16. Shannon - She livened things up & I enjoyed her short-lived romance with Sayid.

17. Boone - If he continues to haunt Locke, that's cool.

18. Claire - Not enough development of her character. Blame the writers, not the actress or character.

19. Charlie - He's not as funny as he should be. He doesn't bug me, but I with they would either do something with his character or just end it. They killed off characters with so much potential & leave a few just to flounder with nothing. I don't get it.

20. Jack - Hopefully he'll have an epiphany & quit being such a j@ck@$$! It's a shame that such a good looking guy has to be so irritating, in a BAD way!

21. Desmond - Too freaky weird. Nothing about him interests me yet.

22. Walt - The only thing interesting about his character was the whole "powers" thing he may have had going on with bringing Polar Bears to life from comic books & wishing things. Agree his whining was annoying as all heck, but obviously it was a case of "like father, like son."

23. Michael - Everything about his character got under my skin.

1. Eko - I'd watch the show if it were only about him.
2. Locke - Of all the characters, it is his past and his destiny I'm most interested in finding out.
3. Walt - Ranked here only for his potential. The whole "powers" thing is a trip!
4. Hurley - Love his comic relief, his big heart, and his storyline…gimme more about the numbers!!
5. Sayid - Nice, yet still a badass. Totally a guy you want on your team.
6. Sawyer - Tough not to like him…despite him.
7. Jin - Good all around character. Easy on the eyes too.
8. Libby - Sad to see her go.
9. Desmond - Love every time he says "brotha"
10. Ana-Lucia - REALLY wanted to see what she and the "army" were capable of.
11. Ben
12. Kate - Sorry, but she bores me for the most part. I'd be fine without any more Kate-centric eps.

I'm only going to rank the characters that are still on since that is already a big enough list to handle. It's easy to tell you my favs, but harder to rank them. BUT I did anyway. Here goes:

1. Sawyer - he has the best lines, the nicknames slay me
2. Locke - he's so earnest and try to do good, plus his past was so pathetic, he has my empathy.
3. Hurley - Hurley talking to sayid as Sayid is breaking coconuts, "Hey man, you gonna put the lime in the coconut and drink them both up?"
4. Jin - His character has evolved into such a sweet, loving husband
5. Sayid - I would have liked to see his relationship w/ Shannon really go somewhere
6. Charlie - The hobbit everyone loves to hate. I like his sarcastic wit. I think he works too hard to gain Claire's attention.
7. Kate - I want to be the kind of woman she is, without the criminal record.
8. Eko - I want to know more
9. Sun - nice lady, strong woman at times
10. Desmond - he's a quirky character, it was hard to look at his skinny hairy legs in that tie-dye shirt though
11. Jack - why are they making us hate him when he started out as such a leader?
12. Claire - too whiny, I'm so over the whole, "a dingo ate my baby" thing.
13. Ben - smarmy and self-righteous
14. Juliet - I'm actually indifferent to her cause I don't understand her yet

2. Desmond--he's not Jack and I love his story line about seeing the future! eye candy
3. Hurley--I just really like him

5. Sawyer--he was higher but he's always around Kate; eye candy
6. Jin-Soo Kwon-I like his inner conflict; eye candy
7. Locke-he's lost some appeal for me
8. Sun-something about her bothers me; that glass ballerina ep took her down a notch in my book
9. Claire-meh
10. Jack-he used to be a lot higher...can they send him off like Michael?
11. Charlie Pace-meh
12. Ben-he bugs me (wonder why? snorfle) and I don't like the fact that he is now the CENTRAL character on the OTHERS and he was just supposed to be one the show for 3 eps...he was never supposed to be part of the story...which has more to do with how I think the writers are going too a far of what they wanted to do...

That's a good question! I don't remember seeing Vincent on the boat with them as they were leaving. Walt lvoes that dog, so will he insist on coming back to get him, if they left him?

Does anybody remember if Vincent has been seen on the island since Michael and Walts departure?

I'm ranking my list before reading other posts. Here goes:

1. Hurley- My all-time favorite character. I heart Hurley.
2. Eko- My 2nd all-time favorite. Very sorry to see him go. We need WAY more Eko. I heart Eko.
3. Jin- I just love him. Yul on Survivor reminded me of him, and I think that's part of why I wanted him to win. I heart Jin. (Are you seeing a pattern here?) Actually, I don't heart anyone else, I don't think.
4. Sayid- oops, wrong. I heart Sayid too. I like his storyline, and I just like him. He's an interesting character.
5. Libby- I think it was too early for her to die. I know we can find out her backstory through others, but I wanted her OWN story. And I really liked her with Hurley.
6. Ana-Lucia- I didn't like her at first, but she grew on me. I was totally shocked when Michael shot her.
7. Michael- Gasp! The only reason he's so high is because he pulled off a totally unexpected stunt to save his son. Well, maybe not pulled off, but he kept it under wraps long enough to set things in motion. I'm glad he's gone though-hopefully for good.
8. Sawyer- Just because I like seeing him without a shirt
9. Rose/Bernard- These 2 were better apart than together, but their reunion was SO touching. I was sobbing watching it.
10. Sun- I like her back story. One of the best actresses, but I liked Ana and Libby's storylines better.
11. Claire- I like her accent lol. I like her much better without Charlie.
12. Benry- Love his character. And what an actor!!!!
13. Locke- still interesting, though a little one-dimensional until recently.
14. Desmond- The "Brotha" stuff is getting a little old for me, but I still like him better than the Others...hehe
15. Walt- creepy kid, but still good. Can't wait to see more of him, unless that means seeing Michael too.
16. Juliet- Can't wait to find out if she's good or evil. Wait....isn't that what I'm thinking about ALL of them?
17. Shannon- She grew on me, I was starting to like her when she died. Oh well.
18. Kate- At least she's interesting, and she gets to be with 2 hot guys. If I were her, I'd pick Sawyer
19. Jack- Interesting dilemma(dilemna-how the heck do you spell that?) he's in. Can't wait to see it play out, but I'm tired of his whining.
20. Charlie- What does he add at this point?
21. Boone- thankfully he's off my screen. I didn't shed a tear at his funeral.

Addendum: Where the heck is Vincent?
