I have seen the rumor of Hurley telling the snowman joke sometime during last season. I have not been able to find any sign of it as of yet but I did find a weak connection between Hurley and Desmond. In episod 5 - White Rabbit, Hurley is talking to Jack and says – You look tired BROTHER. I know this is very weak, but it may be the only clue that could tie Hurley and Desmond (that is if there is a connection).
