We know tons more than we did, and there are tons more questions, so let's start asking them.

How did they get there?
-The Black Rock ship, is the obvious assumption at this point. Washed far far inland during a tsunami?

How long have the others been there?
-That ship looks OLD, archaic and stylized. 100 years or more? Which could mean that generations have been born on the Island.

Why do they want babies?
-My theory: If they have been there a while, there is the chance of major inbreeding and they need fresh blood. Of course, with that theory comes the one that they would want women of reproductive age too. Creepy.

The Black Rock Ship:
-Is it deserted now? And why would they leave TNT on it?

The Other's Territory:
- It looks to be marked out, as Danielle pointed out. But did THEY mark it out or her? And if so, who needs to be kept out of it? Just Danielle or are the Others split into groups too.

Where does Ethan fit into this?

Ethan appeared to dress, talk & act like a "modern" guy. Was he born into a generation of the Others, or was he a newly shipwrecked addition?

Do the Others & the rafters meet?
Do the rafters become Others?

Hmmm, yeah. Where does Ethan fit in. If he was on the scientific mission and has gone over to the Others it would make sense to send him because he'd be the easiest to 'hide' in with the new people then people who had been on the island for generations.

Here's another question: How MANY of the others do you think there are? There has to be somewhere for them all to be - huge caves in the mountains?

If you remember, Ethan was clean shaven, short hair cut, semi-clean clothes. I really don't think he could be one of the pirates who has been there for awhile. He looked like he was kind of a geek so maybe he was sent there to research on the island and got sucked in... All I know is that he was creepy!

This is what I have been struggling with as well. I don't think that Ethan is one of The Others. He kidnapped Claire and Claire had a flashback of Rousseau during that same time, so were Ethan and Rousseau in cahoots? Or was Rousseau trying to steal Claire away from Ethan. She wouldn't if Ethan was one of The Others, because the reason she wanted Claire was to exchange her for Alex with The Others.

Does anyone remember when Ethan told Charlie that he wanted Claire back, did he say "I want her back" or "We want her back"?

If he's not one of The Others, he's not French, he's not from Oceanic....who was he? (other than the GMD's cousin)

Was anyone getting a 'Mad Max' vibe when The Others appeared to snatch Walt? Could the Island be prisoner colony...a modern day Australia?

Remember, they've got at least one motorboat, which means they can potentially get back to civilization to resupply, kidnap, and generally wreak havoc whenever they feel like it -- unless the island won't let them leave. But there's at least the possibility that they can come and go as they please.

If any of the raft three make it back to the beach or caves, a major priority in Season #2 may be the theft of that boat.

Not sure if that little boat is capable of a transoceanic voyage.
Would probably capsize the first big swell that comes along.

I thought it looked like a girl too. But interestingly the ABC LOST summary says it is a man. (Misdirection?)

One of the men in the boat pulls his gun -- and he's faster than Sawyer. Sawyer is shot and falls off the raft into the water. Jin jumps in after him. When Michael moves to help, one of the other men on the boat boards the raft and takes Walt, bringing him back on board the boat. Michael tries to stop them, but he too is knocked into the water. Another man on the boat throws something on the raft and before we know it, the whole thing explodes. As Michael drifts among the wreckage he can hear the screams of his son, pleading for him to come and save him as he is being pulled away into the darkness. And as Michael screams after him he is left to watch his son disappear.

Both my hubby and I thought the person who threw the bomb onto the raft was that weirdo french chick too so we went in slow mo with our DVR then paused when her face appeared on screen.

It was definately a WOMAN who threw the bomb but it was definately NOT the french chick.

I'm just catching up from the past week, so I apologize if this has already been noted elsewhere....

Volsfan, I think you nailed it!!!

I was just looking at the IMDB website as the result of another post, when I saw that Tina Wesson IS in the credits for the first episode of season two -- AS Alex Rousseau!!!

If she's supposed to be 16, but is clearly in her 40s, there MUST be something that happens to the children... Which would help to explain Walt's aging and allow him to stay on the show.

I noticed that Sarah Clarke (24's evil Nina Meyers) is listed as an 'Asylum Patiet\Co-Pilot'. Make you feel good that the co-pilot of the plane is a looney bird. Any chance it is the same asylum that Hurley and Locke's momma were in?

I didn't know about this thread until yesterday, but since I still have the HDTV broadcast recorded, here are some HDTV vidcaps of the woman. If it's Tina, it looks like they did a good job covering up her plastic surgery.

Oh, I didn't see it mentioned in this thread, but besides the other burly leader guy who was on the boat, the other two guys were twins -- it's dark, but you can make it out in the HDTV broadcast, plus the guy who plays Sawyer confirmed it in a recent interview I read.

If you go to realityblurred.com today you will see that they have a story about this with a link to IMDB that lists Tina Wesson as a guest star during next season's premiere. Of course, she is listed as playing Alex.

Obviously, Mr. Abrams reads these boards and is just playing a joke on us because we all know that Alex is 16 years old! Tina, on the other hand, would require carbon dating to determine her age. Also, I don't think the Others are running a plastic surgery clinic which will make it hard to explain why a 16 year old is running around with fake boobs, let alone the fact that she looks like she is 60 years old.

Clearly this is a hoax.

There's a post at Alt.TV.Lost (the Lost Usenet group) from a guy claiming to be the source of the submitted information regarding Tina. He says he did it to prove that the IMDB would publish anything. On the other hand, he also claims to be the source of the Oceanic Web site, and the producers of Lost have already stepped forward and claimed ownership of that. So who knows.

As I was watching tonight's repeat, the french woman on the transciever said something about it killing 'the others'. Are the others the rest of Danielle's crew and by 'kill', she means they've been brainwashed or something?

I just found it wierd that she called the rest of her crew 'the others'.
