DONALD TRUMP SENDS THE FINAL 6 TO ATLANTIC CITY AND HIS OPULENT TRUMP TAJ MAHAL CASINO RESORT FOR THE GRANDEST TASK YET ON NBC’S 'THE APPRENTICE' (MARCH 25 AT 9PM ET)THIS WEEK MARK BROWN (CEO AND PRESIDENT OF TRUMP TAJ MAHAL) SUBSTITUTES FOR GEORGE ROSS
NEW YORK -- March 22, 2004 -- Before Donald Trump introduces this week’s task on “The Apprentice” (March 25 at 9pm ET), he once again decides to even the teams and allows Protégé to steal one member from Versacorp. In front of the famous waterfall in Trump Tower, Trump surprises each team with a trip to Atlantic City and the most high profile task yet---create a casino promotion for The Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort. Each team will have one day to devise and implement a promotional campaign that will draw new registered gamblers into the casino. The winning team will be determined by how much these people decide to gamble.
The rewards keep getting bigger and bigger. This week the winning team is awarded a penthouse suite at The Taj Mahal and $3,000 of gambling money. During the episode tensions flare between Amy and Katrina and we find out that star candidate Troy has one major detractor in the group. Taj Mahal CEO and President Mark Brown substitutes for George Ross (away on business) in this episode.
Episode Eleven Project Managers: Versacorp---Amy Henry / Protégé---Kwame Jackson
“VERSACORP”: Bill Rancic, Nick Warnock, Katrina Campins, Amy Henry
“PROTÉGÉ”: Kwame Jackson, Troy McClain

Wow, 2 against 4? Seems almost unfair. Kwame better step up to the plate or his butt is gone.

I think the company listing is before they choose a player from the other team so as not to spoil who gets picked. can anyone say Amy? This looks like it could feed into the Fall from Grace spoiler also except that I just haven't seen Troy really as that big a star. Could he be the one taking the elevator of shame this week?

This is episode 11 and next week is episode 12? Meaning the "star" player falls from grace next week? Hmmmmmm...If this is true, it means Nick and Amy are safe this week.
Interesting how they called Troy a star at the end of the spoiler... Maybe it's Troy they are talking about in Ep12?
Interesting team reshuffling.
A. Kwame is PM for Protege, and Amy is PM for Versa.
B. Amy and Katrina are on the same team (the "sex sells" fight)
C. Troy has one major detractor in the group. Probably not Kwame, but the new guy.
So, does Kwame/Troy pick Bill or Nick. I got my money on Nick right now. I don't see a mild person like Bill being a detractor. Also, it would explain the wilted romance next week, since they're on separate teams...
I'm guessing Versacorp wins again though. If Amy really is the star player (could be Troy?), she'd have to win this week to fall from grace next week... If that *is* next week.
Bye Kwame.

LAST EDITED ON 03-22-04 AT 05:23 PM (EST)..This is episode 11 and next week is episode 12? ..
Yeah, it is confusing. This is actually Week 12 (March 25th) but only the 11th "real" episode (as last weeks "episode" was a "recrap"). So....this is the "Taj Mahal episode" (Week 12 of 15 total weeks (episodes)...if you count the "recrap" week (episode)). Clear as mud...right?

I don't see a mild person like Bill being a detractor. Are you freaking kidding? Bill's been poor-mouthing other contestants every week, just like the rest of them.

I think Troy and Kwame are going to pick Bill. The previews showed the three of them walking together in the casino. Also the winning team gets a penthouse suite. That would mean that the two teams are in different hotel rooms. Amy, Nick and Katrina (according to the preview) are sharing a hotel room. That must mean they are sticking together on the same team. I wonder if that hotel room Versacorp is in is the penthouse suite, it didn't look that nice!

Hmm, I don't really see Troy & Kwame picking Nick, they are not that dumb to have forgotten the Planet Hollywood project, and his attempts to sabotage the whole plan.I believe that the last episode, the recrap, at the end, showed a photo montage of Kwame, Troy & Katrina and then another montage of Amy, Nick & Bill. But then again, how could Amy & Katrina clash if they are not on the same team?
So it MUST be Bill who goes over to Protege. And, yes, I do believe he would be a detractor to Troy. I don't think he's mild mannered, but to present himself that way has been his strategy so far.
The way he sweating last week and talking about wanting to stay out of the boardroom since the beginning of last week's project. I don't think he would hesitate to attack Troy. Bill's own survival is utmost to him.

So it MUST be Bill who goes over to Protege. And, yes, I do believe he would be a detractor to Troy. I don't think he's mild mannered, but to present himself that way has been his strategy so far. With Kwame and Troy making the choice, they're definitely going to take Bill. After Trump's comment about always picking Amy, they won't pick her. After the real estate task, there's no way they'd pick Katrina. And I think they'd look back on their experiences on the Planet Hollywood task and think Bill was a far better option than Nick.
Bill is not afraid to get in people's faces, as shown with his confrontation with Katrina in the last task. And if he's going back to the Boardroom, he will come prepared to defend himself at all costs, which he has shown on multiple occasions.
With Kwame and Troy, they've had too many bad ideas to count, but Bill is not necessarily safe, if his driving rickshaws in Disney character costumes gives an indication of what ideas he'd come up with when left unchecked.

Much as I dislike disagreeing with you, I don't accept that they wouldn't take Katrina. They know she's dead meat the next time Trump runs into her.

Talk about the ultimate product placement. Trump Ice and now Trump Taj Mahal. Seems like the Don is getting alot of free labor for marketing his own special brand. I am starting to feel like I am watching an infomercial.

lol well said subman. maybe we're all victims of Trump empire?I think they might pick Bill. Troy and Kwame know Nick and Amy like each other, and when there're feelings involve in the task it's hard to stay focused and objective. The romance factor can be used against both players in the board room easy. If Nick (or vice versa) didn't pick Amy to go to the boardroom with him, the person he picked might try saying that Nick does that because he let his emotions get involved (although Amy did do a good job). And well, it's good for others (aka the boys) to keep Amy and Katrina together as cat fight is inevitable...as we have seen in many episodes already.
The hotel room in the preview...where Nick Amy and Katrina were in. I'm hoping it's not the penthouse suite as it looks so tiny..looks like just a normal hotel room.
Has anyone read article in peoples mag? "Some of his ideas can be flawed" that is what Trump said about Bill. Could he be the one taking down elevator this week? Just an obsrvation anyway =)

I did not get to read the People mag article. I think your reasoning is good that it is Bill who comes up with a dumb idea.

If Amy is team leader, obviously they can't pick her because you can't pick the other team's leader. Otherwise, I think they would. Why wouldn't they? She hasn't lost a challenge yet!
"RE: NBC Apprentice Episode 11 Press Release"
Posted by Bosco on 03-24-04 at 02:01 AM
I don't think they would pick her this time, although they could. Because that would draw too much attention to her, and DT might have a twist of his own. DT's"Maybe I should just give her (Amy) a job right now?" might just become real! lol

Actually, the project manager is not "officialy" chosen until the teams have been re-dividied, so Protege would be free to pick to pick Amy. Obviously, they don't. DT's earlier remark would have been taken to heart. Both Kwame and Troy DO listen and learn, which are great assets to have.

We already know that "star candidate" Troy has a detractor in Nick, who's lost respect for him (and Kwame) since the Planet Hollywood charade. I wonder if the press release is alluding to that or someone from his one team. I doubt the boys would choose Nick or Katrina and they can't choose Amy because she's the other team's leader so by default, it's Bill. Troy and Kwame have been awfully cozy with each other lately. Funny how Erika got called "too emotional" when she didn't take Katrina to the boardroom but Troy isn't "too emotional" when he sends his buddy Kwame back upstairs. But anyway, wouldn't it be interesting if Kwame backstabs Troy in some way, hence becoming his "detractor".
"RE: NBC Apprentice Episode 11 Press Release"
Posted by Bosco on 03-24-04 at 04:54 PM
This issue came up again and again but Troy-Kame is a different situation than Erika-Katrina. Erika was clearly emotional and let feelings run over her head. As for Troy's case, Heidi openly attacked him and that is why he chose her to go to the boardroom.

Strategized, or coming up with a "dumb idea"? Haha. We shall see just what their strategizing amounts to.
Versacorps doesn't need to strategize. They'll just sit there blankly until Amy blurts out a great idea.

Meanwhile Protege will sit there and come up with dumb ideas, until Troy gets a recycled variant of one of his old ideas and tries to win that way again.

Yes that would be interesting to see that in Amy. Although many people on this board don't like Troy's ideas, I think he has the charisma and makes a good leader.

LAST EDITED ON 03-25-04 AT 00:32 AM (EST)Tramp's Casino is losing money badly according to the Fortune magazine. At the end of the article they questioned if Trump is going to "award" the winning apprentice with the job. Can't wait to see the episode!
