"DT already knows who wins"

Posted by RyrieRae on 04-12-04 at 09:41 AM
There has been alot mentioned in many threads about no one knowing who wins because it is live. So I'm starting this thread to hear from others just how much they think has already been decided.

POINT ONE: DT is not going to just walk onto live TV and suddenly know who the winner is. The filming has been over for months and he has decided a long time ago.

POINT TWO: Whoever edits the show MUST know the outcome, because they have to know what to edit and what not to edit. They don't want to give anything away, so therefore, they must know who DT picks, so they can work all their misdirection magic.

I think that we just need to make the distinction between the meaning of "decided live" and "revealed live". The winner will be revealed live, but as you imply, DT and others likely have already made that call basd on the results of the final challenge. The final boardroom is live, not the actual final deciding challenge.

DT said on Oprah, "I don't know who the winner will be." He put his hand on his chest to express his solemnity.

Do you think he was lying?

I've speculated how he could say that and not lie. For example, there could be one final challenge that will happen on live t.v. and based on that result, we will know who the winner is.

BTW- if it's live in the east, doesn't that mean those on the Pacific will have to wait 3 hours to find out who.

Also, Donald may not be the only making the choice. He may all Carolyn and George to have some of that decision. He may also have the 'jury' to have some input. I do agree that Donald probably already knows but there will be others opinions involved too.

I've speculated how he could say that and not lie.

I would bet that his final decision and boardroom scenes are the live part.

Heidi said on CNN that she didn't know about the Omarosa lie until she saw the episode last Thursday. It is possible that DT is also seeing much of this footage for the first time. If there were different production crews at the restaurant, in the office, and with the team that (and other incidents) may not have been put together until the editors got their hands on all the footage. In which case the editors are editing for who they want to win and could have some influence on the vote.

If that is the case then he may genuinely be changing his mind based on what he is seeing and, more importantly, based on the reaction the public is having to his finalists. Keep in mind he needs to make sure his key demographic finishes the show happy so they will be anxious for Apprentice 2.

By the way, the Today show on MSNBC is conducting a poll asking the public who they want to win. The results will be revealed live Thursday morning BEFORE the finale. Do you really think that won't have some impact on DT's final decision?

We get both Detriot and Seattle channel here. So we find out the same time when East coast does.

Yeah, and that means it will not be live for west coast

Is it really REALLY live, or is going to be on a 7-second delay? You know, just in case Carolyn (or Norma) flashes a boob on Prime Time Network TV...

I agree that he most-likely knows who the winner is. He'll can justify giving the job to either Bill or Kwame.

Just an observation about the entire season, has anyone noticed how you can kinda tell which team was going to win the exercise by the "Catch Phrase" and Commentary by DT in the first 20 minutes or so of the show. For example, he mentioned how you have to believe in the product you are selling in order to be successful during the art gallery sale and one team clearly did not and lost. Last week he mentioned something about employee loyalty or trust and how you've got to let me go if they betray that loyalty or trust the first time. Kwame had that very situation occur with Omarosa and he didn't cut her loose like he should have. I'm sure she was told exactly how to behave by producers/DT and Kwame failed that test miserably.

I think Bill has got it in the Bag. Although he had that gift storage SNAFU (most-likely staged) he still acted like he was in charge the whole time.

There is a huge difference between "acting" like you're in charge and actually "being" in charge. Bill acted like he was God because he's overseeing the function...but I don't remember The Donald saying anything about him having powers over his other employees. I guess we'll see just how "in charge" he is/was this week.

Last weeks confessionals lay the groundwork for the finale. Kwame is labeled as a "hands off" guy, and Bill is labeled as "everywhere" (translation: micromanaging).

I suspect the two-hour finale will show Kwame paying for his lack of supervision, and Bill suffering employee backlash. All in all, the suspense, tension, and confrontation makes for entertaining TV!.

A Tour De Force from the MB and DJT team. Bravo.

I think the 'it hasn't been decided' line is BS. I expect the winner will be revealed live, similar to Survivor (yet another Survivor similarity). There will probably be a boardroom meeting, but it will just be perfunctorary, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bill and K-man were given the questions in advance in order for them to prepare some sharp responses.

I think DT has some ideas of who is going to win, but his decision can be switch back and forth until he announces it live. So yes in a way he knows who is going to win. But if something happens between now and then, he has time to change his mind.

Of course production crew knew who would be in the final two, and they edited accordingly. But I don't think they knew who DT will eventually pick.

Boardroom cutthroad (possibly) would not be live. It is likely to be actual boardroom that they used every week. But prepare for when DT called both contestants back in the boardroom, and turn out they are on the stage in SNL studio, a la survivor style! Light, camera, action...

Would love to see it live though. But each boardroom session is like 2 hrs according to the article in people's magazine, there got to be some editing...
