This thread is the episode summary writer sign-up thread for FOX's The Casino, which premieres Tuesday, June 8 at 8PM ET/PT and will be consist of thirteen one-hour episodes.

Based on our initial summary writer interest thread, the following folks have already expressed interest in writing for this series:

- anotherkim
- TeamJoisey
- Bucky Katt
- Skiver
- theking0075
- Fishercat
- cqvenus

...if your name is listed above, please reply below reconfirming your interest in this show, as well as noting if you are interested in summarizing more than just one episode. If your name is not on the above list and you are still interested in summarizing this show, please also feel free to reply below indicating your interest.

Given the fact that this show premieres in six days, also please note if you are available for Tuesday's premiere episode

Please note however, that we are also running open sign-up threads for NBC's Next Action Star, NBC's For Love Or Money 3, Spike TV's Joe Schmo 2, FOX's The Simple Life, and ABC's The Two Timer, so if you are planning to reply to more than one of the above mentioned open sign-up threads, it would be helpful if you could note the other shows in your reply, so that we can try and ensure any proposed schedule doesn't schedule you for back-to-back summaries, commit you to more summaries than you were expecting, etc. Additionally, also keep in mind that we will (shortly) be starting The Amazing Race 5 and Big Brother 5 sign-up threads (both shows will premiere July 6.)

As a reminder, while all our summary writing is on a volunteer basis, etc. reliablity, timeliness (or at least status communication) is important, and that while we can't offer anyone any $$$, we do occasionally partner with companies to promote stuff and, if we can, I do try and pass some of the goodies along to the show's corresponding episode writers -- as I've recently announced we've been able to do with all of the writers of ABC's two "Celebrity Mole" editions -- all of which will be receiving free "Celebrity Mole Hawaii" DVD collections courtesy of Eagle Rock Entertainment (and before any asks, yes, I've been individually packing a couple of dozen DVD's this week, and I'm planning to ship them out soon )

Still interested and available. I'm out of town until Monday but Mr. SableBunny promises that he's set up TiVo to record the show. I'll just double-check that when I get home. We are both Vegas fans (the place, not the show) and he is looking forward to tossing some snark with me. What can I say? Some marriages bond through love and acts of kindness. We bond by figuring out all the ways in which we are better than the people on tv.

Edited because I forgot to say I am willing to summarize as many eps as you need me to and can commit to the first one unless someone else has a burning desire to do it.

Ignored, but still interested. (Interestedly ignorant? Ignorably interesting? Interestable ignoring?) I can't do the premiere, though: my work schedule for the next week reads as A. Earn money. B. Sleep.

Ack, sorry Estee, if you check out the summer planning thread, you'll see that I proposed having you tag-team with MTW on Outback Jack, so I assumed doing half the summaries for that show would cancel your interest in any other series. If I was wrong in making that assumption, please let me know.

Check your red flag. ;> I figured that with so many replies on the thread, your eyes just glazed over mine.

Basically, I can tackle anything that doesn't directly conflict with OJ on the schedule, although my first preferences are TAR and JS2. (As if I'll get TAR...) If you need a fill-in to get a full summary schedule, I'm available.

Besides, this may be the only way I ever get a Burnett series.

Hey Blows,
I guess I will give one a try. I haven't ever tried a summary... Well, because writing is not really my thing.
Since this is just an summer fill in, I would be happy to give it a try.
Better give me an episode in the middle of the season. Cause if it is really bad, I will have stopped watching and have to pass the summary on to someone else.

Wasn't sure how my life would be, so I didn't sign up on the other thread, but I am sure I can handle one of these, and I am planning to watch it.

So far, any date looks good except for the week of July 4th.

I'm still interested in doing one for this show. Since I am willing to do one or two summaries for later shows (BB5, TAR5, LCS2) I would appreciate an early episode. And if you get more writers then shows for Casino, I would be happy to let others have a shot.

Throwing my interest in here (confirming it really). I'll apply for a few since I have a pretty open summer timewise and being fairly new, I know I won't get much if anything to cover.

On a specific note, I am available for the first episode if need be, but I would be more open to any of the ones after. I am not picky by any means.

OK, AK and I have put together a proposed schedule for the first seven episodes. Everyone please let me know if you have any issues with it.

A few notes on it:

- anotherkim, although I haven't heard back from my PM yet, I put you down for next week's premiere, if this is a problem we can of course change it

- cqvenus, I didn't list you for a Casino summary yet because so far the FLOM3 sign-up thread is looking a little bare and since you mentioned being interested in doing more than one FLOM3 summary, if it's OK with you we were thinking of maybe scheduling you for a couple of FLOM episodes during the first half or so of it's 12-episode run (allowing time for others to volunteer) and therefore figured, assuming you are still also interested in a Casino episode, we'd schedule it for an episode in the later half of its 13-episode run. If that's not OK, just let me know.

- Estee, I don't know which of you or MTW were planning on doing the June 22 Outback Jack premiere, but this Casino schedule gives you the June 15 Casino episode -- let me know if that's too close together

- Bucky, Ep 4's June 29 broadcast leaves plenty of time for a TAR/BB summary

- DMC, we steered you clear of the 4th Of July

...and I think that addresses all the special requests, if I missed something, let me know.

The official website says Monday June 14th but you are saying it is Tuesday June 8th. Which is correct?

Good point Bucky, it looks like FOX decided to delay this a week and move it to Mondays, I was going off of the March announcement:

...I just checked the "upfront" press release from late May, and you are right, it's been moved to Mondays at 8PM starting 6/14, I must have missed that when I read through it at the time. Woops... that might screwup the proposed schedule a bit, I'm going to have to take another look at that.

No worries (gee, the OJ mode is setting in early). MTW is taking the premiere and odd episodes. I've got the finale and evens, so my first episode is the 29th. There won't be any conflict.

Thank you very much for the assignment. Finally, I can do more with MB foreshadowing than snicker and wonder if he's actually fooling anyone other than me...

Maybe I should rephrase that.

I did express interest in this show, and I'll still watch. Looks like there are enough folks to write summaries, but pencil me in if you need me. But not June 21-July 1, as I'll be out of the country.

I've also expressed interest in TAR and Schmo.

OK, the new updated schedule (updated to reflect the fact that FOX had announced that The Casino's premiere had been pushed back and I'd miss it) is below. None of the episodes assigned have changed, just the dates that the episodes will be airing.

I'm fine with the timing. Honestly, if I draw a TAR and it's on the same day as an OJ, I'd find a way to manage. Two episodes to summarize airing eight days apart -- cakewalk.

watching this show besides those of us who signed up to re-craps it? I know the only thing that kept me watching this week was knowing I'll need to have something interesting to say when it's my turn. Of course, that's if it isn't cancelled in the meantime in which case this will have been all for naught. Well, not for naught. Having seen the eps themselves makes me appreciate Kim and Estee's re-craps that much more.

It's a good way to practice writing summaries without worrying about having an actual audience (outside of the 5 or 6 people who frequent this part of the board.)

Sorry guys, I forgot to circle back here and put together a schedule.

If someone wants to jump on tonight's eighth episode then that'd be great, otherwise we'll probably shut down summaries of the last six episodes of this show -- Fox has already announced that they are going to be burning it off twice-weekly during the Olympics.
