He looked good and did a fine job of singing. Now I'll go listen to Time of the Season again.

I haven't paid Blake much attention until last night. I liked him well enought that, even though Melinda's my favorite, it wouldn't kill me to see him win the competition.

Agreed. Blake is in fact who I want to win. Now I know he isn't the best singer by no means, but he is a good singer and really out of overall talent. He is without a doubt the most talented of the group.

I just realized. I've been disappointed the last couple/weeks that he's been so ... relatively bland.

he seemed much more edgy and different before.

think he's being coached to tone it down? to better appeal to the bland middle-of-the-road musical tastes of mainstream idol fans? (in other words, not discriminating fans like you all. lol)

he's barely beat-boxed in ages, has he??

yeah, i think the beatbox is really original!! and he's GOOD. i always have fun watching him on my TV. he's definitely the leading guy in this competition.

Chris ... well i like him, but i sort of find his voice weird. maybe too feminine? i dont know.

Phil, well i liked him at first but now he's really bad. he cant be compared with Blake. And when he sang Night and Day, for god's sake, i agreed with Simon. that was baaaad.

Sanjaya? no comment.

you know how once you notice something you can't stop noticing it? Well...I noticed a few weeks ago that when Blake sings he tilts his head back and looks down his nose, and this reminds me of a puppy howling. I wish I hadn't noticed that because that is what I think of now when he sings. Just wanted to share this so I could forget it

Idol has gone out of its way, I think, to not show Blake's tattoos.

And they certainly haven't asked him about them.

So I was really glad Friday that the local FOX interviewer did. She said oh my friend is a Blaker Girl and she wants me to ask ....

He said he has six, and then he very quickly pointed to the four on his arms and said what they are, as the camera followed along.

"They're all about symbolism. They're all symbolic of my life," he began.

Then he pointed to a large one on his upper left forearm, it's a portion of a keyboard. "Piano," he said, then pointed to the one underneath it, that goes down to his wrist.

"My sign, the yin-yang," he said. "They're mostly all about balance and what-not."

Then he pointed to the largest one of all, covering much of his right forearm, up to his elbow. it's lovely flowering branches.

"This is the transcendence of life in the Japanese culture," he said. "The cherry blossom tree."

Then he pointed to one below it, on his inner wrist. It looked like a classic Washington forest "root wad," a tree stump with its big roots going down.

"And roots," he said. "Just to know where you came from."

I really loved seeing him in his own element, performing in the studio with a friend on guitar and his own electronics. he said he was going to join a friend's band on stage that night at a seattle club, wish I'd been able to go.

I was hoping he had this sort of personal depth. And he does.

Why, oh why, did Idol not let us get to know any of them this year??

Blake has been my teen son's choice pick for the last several weeks. I'm absoultely astounded that Blake has the fan base to hang in there. Several times, Blake was in the bottom three? Look at him now!

Obviously Blake received more votes than Melinda Doolittle and is even more popular than Sanjaya!

Who knows, Blake maybe the next AI?! I'm beginning to believe that the 'youth' vote definitely rules those AI phone lines?!

If I'm being honest, I think Blake will win the whole competition

Last night who he reminded me of! They were showing Hell's Kitchen previews and Gordon Ramsey looks like an older version of him!

Not that he was dead set on winning it all. "I actually picked Jordin to win," he said Wednesday after the verdict. "I thought about wearing a 'Vote for Jordin Sparks' T-shirt last night but they wouldn't let me do it."

That? would have be cute.

I heard he has an album coming out around Thanksgiving. He's such an interesting performer live. I'm just wondering if it will translate to a CD...should be interesting!
