I totally disagree with you.I've been arguing on (and off) boards like this since the first season that the trio of judges is a match made in heaven and they couldn't do better. AI wouldn't be AI without these three judges. The synergy between them is perfect.
Simon. I love Simon. I agree with Simon about 95% of the time. His flat out refusal to sugar coat anything, and his desire to always tell the truth no matter how much it might hurt someone is exactly what these contestants need to experience. I suspect it is 10 times as worse out there in the business.
Randy brings in real-world performing and recording experience. He knows when someone is off pitch, or off key, or lagging behind the band. He knows when a performance works or doesn't work. What Simon is to "the business", Randy is to the performing.
Then there is Paula. Paula is a lot like Randy and knows what these kids are getting themselves into. Beyond that, she truly is the ringleader of the two guys, and tries to keep them in check as much as she can. Yes, her comments are more touchy-feely than the other two, but it brings in some balance. All three see differences in both the good and bad each week.
Just try to envision what it would be like if all three agreed all the time. BOOOOORRRRRIIIINNNNGGGG.
The judges are one thing wiht AI that i would never change.
