hello fellow MMHers! to compensate for not being able to discuss the finale immediately with yout tonight (), I thought I'd start a new discussion - if there is a 2nd season, what other Alt lifestyles might be included? (if they don't just use the same peeps, which would still be fun - I'd definitely like to see Art and Ta'Shia back - although, since the show has become a "Let's make fun of Fiona" romp, I doubt she'd come back, unless she's looking for some Jerri-like redemption, or wants to play the Wicked Witch (intentionally) for the whole show)
The only really different thing I can think of is maybe a charasmatic/snake-handling/faith-healing preacher? (that would make for some interesting showcase/rituals or trials, I think)
Maybe some kind of Buddhist/Occidental monk? Although I'm not sure what the trial would be . Some kind of Art/Avocado hybrid, I guess.
Any other ideas?

Super Joe Scoooooressss!!!!!
Interesting ideas HE. I like the idea of a charasmatic/snake-handling/faith-healing preacher type person. Too bad David Koresh isn't available (I kid of course!).I'd love to see Ta'Shai again (or some like her), Art for sure, Don...no please gods no, but I could deal with Avocado again. I honestly can't see Fiona taking a stab at this again. I think she had a hard enough time putting up with Don (and visa versa) that since she wasn't head honcho, queen bee all, she won't put herself in the situation again. I do think that having a witch in the house is a good idea.
Someone else...hmmm...
Someone that would put ordinary people on edge just by the type of life they lead and ideas they have of how to lead their lives... *snaps fingers*
I got it...A Personal Injury Lawyer!!
--giggles
I can think of Alt lifestyles, but not ones that would be able to work with the ones we've seen in the house so far. 'Survivalist' qualifies as an Alt. Putting one in the same room with Don qualifies as a 'mistake'. Interesting challenge possibilities, though.Polygamist? Well, they've got the history and traditions. The challenges are going to be a problem.
Wait -- got one! How about a shaman?
Wait -- got one! How about a shaman?I think it depends on what type of shaman you mean. Do you mean like a Medicine/Healer person walking the Red Road? An native american shaman would be pretty cool. Good idea estee.

I think it depends on what type of shaman you mean. Do you mean like a Medicine/Healer person walking the Red Road? An native american shaman would be pretty cool. That's exactly the Alt candidate I was thinking of. That would add a new perspective to the house, result in some interesting challenges, and might even -- cable forbid! -- teach people a thing or three along the way.
Hmmm. A touch of mysticism, expansion of thought, new experiences... any chance of getting a Shaolin monk?
(Okay, that was a stupid question.)
Oh, good idea for a thread! I do like the idea of a shaman. In the vein of a Don (pun fully intended)/Art alt, I recommend someone who lives in the BDSM realm 24/7. Maybe a master and his slave, or just a dominant.
Shaolin monk - I only wish! Can you imagine the discussions prior to the elimination ceremony? They'd be so.....profound.
Fiona - are you listening?
How about a cannibal? That would really put the guests on edge. Just kidding!
They'd all be thinking twice if he said "my, you're looking good this evening".
I like the idea of a Native American spiritualist--Red Road or other. That seems like a natural fit for an American show and the teaching/learning experiences would be very interesting and needed.A charismatic would be fun--if you can find one who will tolerate other "sinning" lifestyles, LOL!!!
Not so sure about a Buddhist monk presented as an "Alt" lifestyle. Buddhism is a major world religion after all. That said, I think Tibetan monks are the kindest, most spiritual and tolerant people in the world. I would love to have a monk on this show!
If we are going to hit world religions, why not a Jesuit? I've only known 2 Jesuits in my life, and both had the best sense of humor in addition to being smart as hell. (Oops--bad word choice.)

I've been thinking a lot about other alts and personally I would like to see them get more serious about the alts. I agree that a Buddhist monk would be an excellent choice. Others would be a Kundalini yogi, a Druid, a Hare Krishna and an Indian Shauman.Eric
Does anyone have confirmation that there will be a 2nd series? I really liked the first.
I'd like to know too. I really enjoyed this series.
I loved the show too. But It looks like the show has been cancelled. I read it on the sci-fi message boards and on tv tome. Hopefully, they are just speculation, but it looks unlikely that it will return.![]()
I personally, I do not want Fiona Horne to come back, so she can not disgrace the name of wicca and make a mockery out of it. If she were really wiccan, she would know it is an oath-bound practice and they do have a specific god and goddess they worship. Wicca is an oath-bound orthopraxy fertility cult (in a religious sense), meaning they have certain ways of doing their rituals, ceremonies, and worship which are only known strictly to coven members as well as the names of the deities. So unless you are in a coven that is part of a true wicca tradition which means it can trace its lineage back to Gerald Gardner, you are not wiccan. You are a neo-pagan Witch, which is not bad its just not wicca. This is disrespectful to people who went through all the tasks to become wiccan and actually take the path to heart. Remember not all witches are wiccan but all wiccans are witches. If they were ever to represent a Wiccan Witch I would like it to be properly represented, not someone who is using it for propaganda.
