"Who's gonna win?"

Nichole, despite the negative things, is still being edited per the Alts very words as the odds on favorite. I think this probably means she DOESN'T win though, although hiding the winner may not be high on this editing team's priorities. Will her tarot reading help her? Alts for: Avocado?, Art? Alts against: Don, Fiona?

Noel I think helped his stock tremendously with the way he handled the twist, plus his manipulation with the cold medicine, and let's not forget past incidents like the scar. He's keeping his cynicism to the cameras, and his backbiting mainly to Eric and the camera. Alts for: Ta'Shia. Alts Against: none?

Eric could win, with the star foreshadowing, and Fiona's still got the hots for him even though he's over her. Can he keep all his balls in the air though? Art seems to see through him. Alts for: Fiona. Alts against: Art.

Loana has really come a long way from her initial edit, although she's still getting a bit of a gossip edit, as well as Avocado's snippy "goody goody" commment. And Fiona, of all people, defended her. I can't really see her winning, but for the most part the Alts don't seem to have much bad to say about her. They could see her as a less over-the-top Kelly, a project they would like to see to the end. Alts for: Art, Fiona? Alts against: Avocado, Don?

There was speculation early about Jamie's lack of face time looking good for a win, but now there have been doubts cast about her willingness to participate and her drive to win and/or change (Avocado's "flighty" comment). Alts for: ? Alts against: All? None? Avocado seems most likely in this category, but I'm not sure about any of the others.

So my verdict? I have no freaking idea. I'll go with Noel for right now. It's interesting that, of all the Alts, it's hardest to see where Ta'Shia stands on any of them except for Noel whom she seems to have taken under her wing. Fiona and Avocado seem to have the clearest likes and dislikes, with Don and Art in the middle.

I don't see it in the cards for either Jamie or Loana to win. I think Eric and Noel may each try to undercut the other as the fallout from Eric placing a necklace on his "buddy". So, I think Nichole will win.

That said, I have decided that I like Nichole. She may be SoCal shallow, but she is playing well and hard in spite of being confronted pretty brutally at times. She needs to talk a little less and just give meaningful looks now & then. If the "get Nichole" plot is revealed to the Alts by a feuding Eric & Noel she will benefit. Basically, all four of them have been undercutting Nichole every chance they get. She may be seen as "sincere" even though she is shallow. And sincerety is everything to these guys.

It's funny.....I had her pegged as shallow, but I don't see Nicole that way anymore. I think she has grown more than the others because of the confrontations she's had to endure. Plus she has fared well in the trials which shows she's totally into the whole purpose of this program. Though I liked Eric initially, I find him to be a little weasel now. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to last night's episode.

I also feel with the Tarot reading and Fiona's comment when Nicole placed her necklace on Loana, Nicole has altered Fiona's negativity towards her. So right now, the only Alt I see having a real problem with Nicole is Don.

I know what you meant by asking who will win I_Am but the real winners of this show are the Alts. There probably will be a second season of MMH eventually, which will mean a second payday for each. If this show does catch on in the mainstream and/or mass media, who do think they will want to interview? A contestant or an Alts? Clearly the Alts are the stars. And if an Alts true purpose for doing the show is to get their lifestyle "out there", then I think they have already won.

As far as who I think will win the 100K between the TOP's, my money is on Noel. The way he handled the fake elimination in front of the Alts was quite classy. He was not upset or angry and understood why the others wanted him out. Noel receiving three necklaces from fellow guests (all from his alliance) will only help his cause. Noel has been willing to participate in every challenge and has volunteered a number of times. Plus he has been working over the Alts like a Richard Hatch wannabe! The pretending to be addicted to cold medicine was classic.

My runner up is a toss up between Eric and Nicole.

Oooooo....good pick, and I like your reasons. You know, I wondered about that addiction being a fake one. If he doesn't win, he may want to consider making it real. The guy's a janitor, fer crissakes! He NEEDS to win.

If I have to see Fiona and/or Don next season, I'm gonna take a hostage.

LAST EDITED ON 04-13-04 AT 10:33 PM (EST)

It seems to me that the twist was NOT a preplanned thing - it may have been an option for the Alts to employ at some point, but unless the end of the deliberations was reshot for suspense, it seems unlikely to me that it was something they had decided before that point.

And why did they do it now, either way? My only guess is that Nichole is the one they want to eliminate. Loana would seem like the EASY choice for not finishing Avocado's trial, but as I said, the Alts really don't seem to have much bad to say about her. And if it WAS predetermined for this episode and they really DID want to oust Loana, why the "this is so tough" farce?

Also, I think "alliances broken" and "friendships crumble" is standard hyperbole. I don't think anything of the sort will really happen after everything is aired out. The most I see happening is Noel playing for himself (even) more, but still in the context of his alliance. He may plant his own seeds against Eric or another, but not until after they succeed in getting Nichole out.

As far as the thoughts of the Alts from the elimination, I doubt it will hurt Loana, might hurt Eric for betraying his friend, and most likely could hurt Jamie for piling on. But I don't know how the Alts could really hold that against them if they use the slightest bit of reason. As I said above, I think Noel's stock rose dramatically for the way he handled the situation, AND he may have taken some of Nichole's as well - HE may now be seen as the one the other guests fear as the front runner. Nichole's immunity may have hurt her here since she couldn't look like the victim (or maybe helped, if the Alts took the 3 or 4 necklaces she surely would have gotten as genuine feeling of fakeness by Nichole from the others)

At any rate, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Nichole goes next. I'm pretty sure it will be one of the girls though (although just playing random odds you could say that, so I'm not going out on that big of a limb, I guess )

My rankings for most likely to get the boot to least likely:
1. Nichole
2. Jamie
3. Loana
4. Eric
5. Noel

ETA: that from the preview, it looks like Loana may win immunity - she seems to be having the least problem with the blood - so that's the big reason why I place her 3rd behind Jamie.

Thoughts?

My opinion, as someone who has only seen 2 actual episodes is this:

Nicole, she's my pick for the winner.

Loana, will not win, but unless she gets immunity I see her getting a couple necklaces but not being eliminated.

Jamie, I think that there's enough evidence there that both Don and Avocado think she's too goodie goodie and it's possible that she's the one out this Thursday.

Eric, I think we're going shown his manipulation of Fiona and the others, his cocky attitude in confessionals and his suckupness to the Alts for a reason, the Alts will discover something about him and he's not going to win.

Noel, I also think we were shown his confessional about the fake addiction to cold medicine for a reason. The Alts will find out and they all )especially ta'Shai will bring down their wrath.

I see the last two as Noel and Nicole with Nicole taking it.

--bases all of her above thoughts on 2 episodes and the opinions and observations of the other fine posters here

one thing i forgot to take into account was the preview clip of ta'shia saying "he lied to me. that makes me so mad." so i guess one of the guys could be going home. (i guess it's also possible she's talking about an alt, but i doubt it). noel seems to be the more likely that she may be talking about, since she seems closer to him, but it may not be about the medicine - could be something that happens next week, and may be relatively minor in the overall scheme of things, not leading to an immediate boot, but definitely hurting chances of winning...

From TV Guide:

Mad Mad House
60 mins.

The occult version of Survivor treats its remaining contestants to an “alt approved” shopping spree as the guest list is pruned to three.

Alternately amusing and tacky, Mad Mad House has asked its contestants to endure everything from a witch trial to a naked romp in an effort to win $100,000. With two episodes left---the two-hour finale airs April 30---the weird indignities continue. First, the guests undergo “alt style” makeovers from their hosts, then Don stages a vampire dinner party in which he cold-bloodedly compels diners to guzzle gore.

it may have been written before they saw the past episode and learned noone was eliminated (ie last week should have cut the list to 4, so next week should cut it to 3)

still possible, i guess, but i think we'll have 3 going into the 2-hour finale and we still have 2 episodes to go before we get there

Could be but don't they get this info from the network? It was printed in a special call out box not just the usual quickie line.

I like Nichole,
I cant stand Eric and Loana - those two are together with the sly marks on Nichole,
I like Jamie to but not one id pick
Noel he with Eric has made some remarks as well on the show
and he would be another i would have picked to but, his actions with Erics on the show and stuff (shakes my head) nope and thats to bad

Noel was my own personal Quentin Tarentino and I am sad to see him gone. I personally have a mad crush on Nicole and want her to win. That's the only basis. And her "manipulation" is more on the lips of Eric than it is on her very pretty shoulders

her "manipulation" is more on the lips of Eric than it is on her very pretty shoulders.

That's for sure! She is playing the all the little trial 'games' hard, and trying to win over the Alts with charm & attention. She has not been shown bad-mouthing others or plotting their downfall, which is Eric's main strategy. along with kissing up ti Fiona.

I like Nichole. She may be a Malibu princess, but she is sincere (enough) in this game.

Yes. I agree. She is being attentive and adoring, but she is not kissing #####. And she is certainly working hard. I even think that Donald Trump would hire her. She works it hard, but not like she has something to prove. She is so good that she is almost seamless. She might not make good TV if she weren't so pretty.

"Who's gonna win between the final three ... "
Posted by dreamerbeliever on 04-25-04 at 11:47 PM
If Arts hanging trial is to get the remaining three down to the final two, then my money is on Eric or Nichole to win it. It probably will not be a skin piercing hanging but rather an uncomfortable harness that maybe they will have to see who can endure the pain the longest. Jamie will be out within minutes. If it is a harness type of thing that wraps around the upper thighs, then Eric's umm manhood might be a problem for him. Wont be the first time little Eric hurts him. I can totally see Nichole winning it and being immune for the final elimination. If there is a final elimination in the first hour, then I see Eric having more favor within the Alts than Jamie.

Fiona gives necklace to Jamie (wont go against her boy toy to keep Jamie in the game), Ta' Shia gives necklace to Jamie (she might still be stewing over the bathroom incident), Art gives necklace to Eric (no doubt about it, Art likes Jamie), then Don and Avo are my toss ups but I like the chances of at least one giving a necklace to Jamie over Eric. 3-2 Jamie is out and Eric makes it to the final two.

In a final two between Eric and Nichole, my money is on Nichole to win it. Of course I have already lost one bank-roll in choosing Noel to win it all. I'm not going to root for her to win it but I think she just might. Fiona chooses Eric as the winner (no surprise here), Don chooses Eric as the winner (Don will not care if Eric uses the 100k to buy enough drugs and liquor to last for a three month bender), Art and Ta' Shia will care how the money is to be used and will vote Nichole as the winner, and Avo might not like Nichole's yappyness all the time but I think he will see more change in her than Eric. Nichole wins 3-2.

A drooling Eric however will win in his own way by asking Fiona for a date and she says yes. They will go to a sock hop and afterward to the local malt shoppe for a milk shake. It's either this or a recreation of the scene from The Doors movie. The one where Val Kilmer chases around the blood drinking journalist in her apartment with a statue as his little Eric.

This of course is all speculation on my part (except for the date between Eric and Fiona) because they may just have the final three in the winners ceremony but I really don't think so. A final three for the money could lead to a tie and a mess. Pretty certain it will be a final two for the cash.

I agree that the F2 will be Eric and Nichole, but I think The Star wins. Fiona is a lock for Eric, and Art seems a lock for Nichole. I think Avocado will give it to Nichole despite her yappiness and his man-on-man with Eric, and that Ta'Shia will lean toward Eric - if you think she's concerned about how the money is spent, rememebr wat Loana told the Alts - that the Norms don't want Nichole to win based on how she would spend the money.

Don is the deciding vote IMHO, and I can't decide which way he'll fall.

So:
Eric: FIONA, Ta'Shia
Nichole, ART, Avocado
???: Don

In other news, I probably will not be seeing the finale immediately (am moving, and won't have cable), but barring VCR mishaps, I'll have someone taping it to mail to me. Can't wait till I'm able to talk about it with you all
