"Jackie is playing on stereotypes"

There are several stereotypes that Jackie was buying into in order to make her decision, but the most common seemed to be the fact that the guys put up a wall between her and them, as if they were hiding something. Doesn't she watch Will and Grace? Has she heard anything on the way that gay men and straight women relate? Because there is no sexual tension between gay men and straight women, there is no need for the walls. The ones she needs to keep her eye on are just the opposite. Hopefully, she'll never learn, eliminate all the straight guys, and her stereotyping can come back and bite her in the butt.

Dan,

I agree with what you say. However, I seriously doubt if she has ever been around gay men before. It was a very small town she came from and she said she is very religious. I don't think she has any ideas of how gay men act around anyone!

Honestly...why pick the two she did?

Dan, it took a while to get all that info there. But, I really enjoyed it!

That will be her downfall. This is FOX, and no doubt the producers will have chosen men who will make it as confusing as possible. Honestly, as I was watching the show, several of the men who I thought acted the most masculine are the ones that Rothschild has already "outed" in the other thread.

<--Also hopes Jackie ends up picking a gay guy.

"Gaydar" is just a different way of saying "Stereotyping".

From what I saw on the first episode...I was most surprised about Bill. He was the one that caught me off guard!

I figured the most nellie would be the straight ones. Volsie (hope you don't mind me calling you that--have your people contact my people about that issue), after that aside, I forgot I was gonna say. Ummm.... Oh, I didn't know about her background. That would explain her going for the stereotypes. Loved her looks of disappointment when she found out she was wrong. *snicker snicker snicker*

I think they deliberately picked Jackie for this show because she is naive. I think she is spending too much time trying to figure out who is gay.

I think the best would be to just eliminate the guys she doesn't like or have anything in common with. Who cares if they are gay or straight. I wouldn't want to hang around a ranch with someone I didn't like or get along with. Then when she is left with a few guys she really does like she can start to wonder if they are for her or not. But why keep someone she doesn't even care for just because he is the only one she thinks might be straight.

I agree! Concentrate on the ones you like being around...however, a lot of times, gay men and women get along better. That is why there are some women out there called fag hags!

Gay men tend to understand women better than straight men IMHO!

Glad YOU said it! I was thinking the same thing, but after starting so many controversial thresds over in OT, I was getting a little gun shy.

I still wonder if this is gonna be rigged so that she picks a straight guy so that America can sleep well.
