I just wanted to say that I graduated high school with Brooke from Forever Eden.
That's nice. Don't stop there, how about spilling some gossip?
Well, we come from a town of about 2000. Our class graduated with 83. I was friends with her, but not super close. Her house was where all the high school parties were held. It was called the pit. She is nice to everyone and was voted our homecoming queen. I don't know anything bad or juicy about her becuase she's a great person. I am hoping she does well. I guess she left 2 weeks ago for this endeavor. What more do you want to know?
I guess I could also say she is a big party queen and she is one tough cookie.
Hmmm .... first Brooke Burke, the Brooke Burns and now Brooke from Forever Eden.![]()
Her last name is Barbknecht, another B. weird huh. She is hilarious so it will be interesting for me to see how she is on TV.

LAST EDITED ON 03-01-04 AT 12:50 PM (EST)Hi,
I went to college with Brooke. And we get together once a year to catch up. Is it weird that she is on a show like this? I would have never guessed that she would do this show. I have been emailing her and I tried calling her last week and her phone was shut off. Now I know why.
-Kati
That is cool that you know her too. I have been seeing her around Janesville and Mankato, but we never really hang out. I think it is weird to see someone I know on a reality show, but if it was going to be any of my classmates from high school, Brooke would be one of the first people that I would think of. She just has that "I am going to do something crazy" attitude. I am very much looking forward to seeing her on TV. We'll have to chat after each episode and see what each other thinks since we each know her in different ways we can see if she acts the same as we knew/know her. Nice hearing from a fellow Brooke fan. Will you do me a favor and email her email address to me so I can have it for future chatting, she is one person I have always wanted an email address for but I have never gotten around to asking her for it. My email is kschmeez@hotmail.com. Thanks a bunch.
Katie
Is everyone who went to your school named Katie? LOL ;)SilverStar

Actually the other gal on here didn't go to our high school, she said she went to college with Brooke. But there were 4 Katies in our class of 83 people. Popular name!
I saw the show tonight. She's very cute![]()
Yeah she looked nice. I was surprised on how quiet she was. She didn't seem to talk much at all. Usually she is more outgoing and talkative. Also I was surprised on how nervous she looked at the beginning. I couldn't believe how ignorant Mary seemed. The show was good, I will keep watching. Maybe sooner or later I will notice the Brooke that I know. Wild and crazy.
I think she and Mary are definitely the best looking there. Not too much lines for her. Maybe she'll be the sweet one.
Unless she has changed a lot, and I do mean a lot, she definitely could be the sweetest one there. She has a very contagious laugh also. I can't wait to see her having loads of fun.(If that is possible with all the drama)
Brooke did seem like a nice person in Ep1. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her on the show.Being a fellow Minnesotan I will root for her too. That is until she does something incredibly stupid, in which case I'll turn on her quicker than you can say Eden.

It's nice to know you are rooting for her. I don't think she will ever do anything incredibly stupid because she has a good head on her shoulders. That is unless it is all just an act and the producers tell them how to act and what to say. I figure I will be able to tell if it's staged if Brooke acts totally different from what I am used to.
She said something in Episode 2 to the effect that she had been holding back. just trying to get a feel for things, but now she was really to start stirring things up, or something like that ... so maybe we'll see the Brooke you know soon.
After watching Episode Three, it looks to me like we might be seeing some of the Brooke you were talking about. What do you think?
Yes! The Brooke I know has returned. It is so funny to see some of the things she does because all i can think is "That's Brooke". She is hilarious.
LAST EDITED ON 03-10-04 AT 05:45 PM (EST)Well I hope she doesn't get voted out anytime soon. After that blonde girl got voted out, she was the only cutie left.
I mean that's the only reason why I watch this sad show. Cause I sure don't watch it to root for the best strategy by the best player. This ain't Survivor, Sally.

Quoth the Raven: "Strategies? What strategies?"
Best strategy? Best player?
Neither exist in this game.
It's like a kaleidoscope. Twist the tube and everything changes.
These players must feel like a pinball machine ball. Bounce around for a while then get sucked down the hole.
The Raven is correct.
LAST EDITED ON 03-11-04 AT 11:04 AM (EST)My prediction, if she stays quiet...she's gone. If she speaks up...she's gone. Since the show is based on ratings and not rules, she should try and do anything/everything to bring up ratings. I would then expect the producers to fix the show to give her permanent immunity and then end it...what is the prize again???
Yeah I agree with you, I wouldn't be surprised if they give immunity to anyone who boosts ratings. What ever happens though she will possibly come home with a big chunk of cash so that would be awesome for her.
Yeah and then you can marry her! looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool>Whatever
>happens though she will possibly
>come home with a big

Neither I nor her are into girls. I don't think there will be a marriage between us. Another thing is Lesbian marriages are illegal in Minnesota.
Ahhhh I see. I just assumed you were a guy. Silly me. My apologies.
LAST EDITED ON 03-11-04 AT 06:24 PM (EST)Ratings? Paradise Hotel never got anything approaching the gargantuan ratings that Survivor gets. Neither will Eden. If Fox *really* wants ratings, they'll offer the public something along the lines of Survivor.
And in fact, they may be doing just that. Fox has a show called Casino, produced by MB, premiering in June.
In the meantime, Eden will meander along until it dies its well-deserved death. Sooner or later, even the few who watch it now will figure out how absolutely mindless it is.
On that day, I will celebrate.

LAST EDITED ON 03-12-04 AT 10:15 AM (EST)So I can assume the grand prize will be some cheesy 1 week vacation at a Caribbean resort? The kind that look good on the brochures but in reality cost $950 including airfare? And the runner ups get $1000 a piece and their gold coins?
Can we get a boot link started (I would assume all of the names need to be mentioned since I usually watch with the sound mute)?
ROFL!!! You're a wise viewer! You missed all of Brooke and Matt's screaming at one another last week.>since I usually

>that Survivor gets. Neither will Eden. If Fox *really*
>wants ratings, they'll offer the public something along the lines of Survivor. No, PH was never a Survivor-like hit. And yes, it bombed out of the gates too before building strongly during its run. But I don't think it was ever as bad as Eden's Ep3 was (as the first ep wihtout any type of Idol lead-in, I think it only did something like 5.5 million viewers, I'll have to check.)
>And in fact, they may be doing just that. Fox

>June.Actually, Casino is going to be more like The Restaurant than like Survivor or The Apprentice. There's no game element, just a Restaurant-like "behind the scenes" look at an attempt to revive a business and the comings and goings of customers along the way.
It will do OK, but I expect it to drew closer to a Restaurant-like 10 mill viewers a week than a Survivor-like 20+ million.

Ahhhh. I see. That makes sense. But who knows? Maybe Fox will engage the talents of MB to do a Survivor-like show after they get their feet wet with Casino. The way NBC did with The Restaurant.

>The Restaurant. It's possible, but if so, FOX just missed it's best chance at that -- Burnett just sold "The Contender" to NBC for over $2mill an episode:
http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/story.php?s=2295
...FOX was second in the bidding at just under $2mill an ep, but NBC's advertising barter deal reportedly put them over the top, giving them THREE Burnett shows to CBS' one (Survivor), and FOX's one (The Casino.)
ABC has none.. in fact I'm working on a writeup about how Burnett was quoted in a NY Times story this week talking about how dysfunctional ABC is, and how they actually had three chances at Survivor way back before CBS nabbed it and how Burnett and Trump also initially gave ABC first shot at The Apprentice only to watch them only be willing to make an initial six episode commitment (not that it really matters much anyways, because ABC sucks so bad now and there are so few viewers watching it that it's going to be incredibly difficult for any new series to ever become a monster hit out of the gates on that network.)

LAST EDITED ON 03-12-04 AT 07:52 PM (EST)Thanks for the link and the articles. TV industry politics is a lot of fun to follow.
Whoever ends up with the lion's share of MB's offerings, we the viewing audience are the winners. It's one less time slot available for a mediocre reality show by someone else.
I wish others could do it all as well as MB. Sooner or later, I'm sure someone else will figure it out.
LAST EDITED ON 03-12-04 AT 10:27 PM (EST)They could bring back Mork and Mindy. I do believe Jonathan Winters and Conrad Janis are still alive.
Ahh yes. Mork and Mindy. That was on during the late 70s when ABC had a genius by the name of Fred Silverman doing their programming.
Sadly for ABC, they have no such genius now. Even if they did, it wouldn't make much difference, because everything is so micromanaged there now by the upper brass -- the problems with Michael Eisner, etc.
But as a reality show viewer, I'm just glad that somebody is showing the good stuff: Survivor, The Apprentice, etc.
