"The "Real Boss" is..."

Posted by Ricky on 11-16-04 at 00:58 AM
I've seen some good speculation elsewhere so I thought I'd start a thread here.

Here are some interesting guesses of who the Real Boss is...

1) A monkey or chicken who randomly picks
2) A child who randomly picks
3) A penny. He flips it to see who will be leaving
4) Donald Trump
5) Bill Gates
6) Omarosa
7) Charlie from Charlie's Angels
8) Gary Coleman (Arnold form Different Strokes)
9) Dana Plato (from Different Strokes)
10) Steve from My Big Fat Obnoxious Finacee
11) Miss Cleo (the psychic)

Any other guesses ?

I really hope that it turns out to be Dana! That will make for a really interesting final episode when they reveal the "real" boss, considering that she's been dead for years and all...

Perhaps she is propped up in that big leather chair all Mrs. Bates style.

Sorry to break the news. She died of a prescription drug overdose in May 1999.

Or so we think. As with Elvis and Jim Morrison - the legend lives on. She just wanted to get out of the public eye. She's alive and well hiding out in Montana.

I'd guess Omarosa, but it couldn't be because the chair wasn't on fire. Too bad on both counts.

I think it is an animal of some sort, a monkey, maybe a donkey, or a parrot or something!

That would not be that surprising in my opinion.

I still think that maybe it's going to be a person. Evan Marriott maybe?

Last night if they HAD gotten rid of Whitney I would have been more suspicious, but I'm willing to wait and see before I buy into the Canary C. Burns theories. If the firing seems to be random every week, then we will have our answer.

My own pet theory is that the person who is closest to catching on or has the least "buy in" to the concept of the show is the one who gets canned. Daniel already seemed to have an idea that something was up and Elli was definitely suspicious, last week I thought that they were both clueless though.

But I won't be surprised by a monkey with a magic 8 ball.

I think your theory makes the most sense. If these candidates honestly came into this show thinking this guy was for real, then if they start to figure out something is wrong, then their task performance will show it, so their team boss picks them to go before L Paul Todd to get eliminated.

I wonder what will happen if someone on the winning team gets suspicious and ends up staying an extra week though. Although, I have to admit these guys seem pretty clueless. I think the casting folks really put them through an extensive screening process, not only to find people somewhat telegenic, but pretty dumb as well.

I'm really curious who the mystery boss is.

Since he is THE BOSS, I've been thinking along the lines of Bruce Springsteen or
George Steinbrenner

It is Chicago though, so I thought maybe Oprah or Michael Jordan?

People on another board said that they thought they saw the top of the head of the real boss on last week's show and their hair was blonde. Ivana Trump or Pam Anderson maybe.

i didn't see that. But then i really didn't pay attention to the teaser ending. Since I am convinced it is some sort of animal, I would say that 'if' they did see blonde hair, it is just an animal with a Trump wig.

In the first few episodes, the "boss" is referred to as a "he".
I didn't see the last episode, so not sure if that had info that negated that. I thought the boss was an "it" from the beginning, so I paid attention to how the boss was referred to.

They have also refered to the boss as "The Man" but I thought they might have been fooling us, like in the first season of Alias when "The Man" turned out to be Lena Olin's character.

I was wondering about that last night, and thinking that it might just be a chicken. Then I got to pondering the rest of that (flea market) episode, and those bogus, potentially harmful products.... and how the heck the producers could have possibly stopped every buyer from getting home with any of them.... and all of that led me to consider that perhaps the BIG SHOCKING SURPRISE will be that there IS NO "boss"!!! Period! Because EVERYBODY on the show is ACTING, and is IN on the whole scam... EXCEPT the viewers.... so the JOKE is on US!!!! And when they spin the chair around, it will be EMPTY!!! Isn't it about time that somebody pulled a "Reality Sting" on the whole world??? It sure would explain those huge profits from supposedly selling hot soup in July... and from the idiotic reuseable toilet paper.... and the way that NONE of the participants seem to be smart enough, in spite of their supposed backgrounds, to be the least bit suspicious of all the weird stuff that's going on!!!!!

Something just seems a little TOO fishy here.......!

Ladro's Law:

During every "con" show (Joe Schmoe, MBFOF, MBFOB etc...) some people will come up with what they think is a unique and profound idea that 'everyone' on the show is an actor. They will become convinced that their idea is so unique and profound that it must be right. They will consequently see every aspect of the show as proof that their unique and profound idea is right.

I am surprised no one mentioned this, I was thinking one of the candidates is the boss. That way in the end they guarentee that no one gets the fake job.

Also, think Omarosa, Ivana Trump and Marla Maples are good ideas. Maybe even Sam.

I think you can more or less rule out:

1) Anyone from a different network.

2) Any obvious celebrity.

3) Any random element -- there's too much at stake with these shows to have a chicken picking.

I'm guessing that the "boss" is a collection of all the people who have been kicked off the show. That would fit the sense of karmic justice that people like on these shows. I could be off, but it's just my $.02.

What's at stake?

Ratings for a prime-time show on one of the big four, which equals millions of dollars.

There might be a clever joke, there might be a celebrity of some sort -- but I'm willing to bet that the answer isn't that it's just random.

Hey -- easy. I'll be posting here, with or without links. Apologize if I broke the rules (I should have read them more carefully -- and let me know if I need to remove previous links, or something).

Back to the topic at hand: What do you think about the possibility that the people who are kicked off the show would be making the decisions? The "boss" is really more of a "Survivor" type collection of votes.

Thoughts on this?

-ESB

p.s. V, I edited out links -- it was an honest party foul.

That would be kinda difficult in the first show- when nobody has been "fired" yet. And for the second episode, only one person would be involved in the "collection of votes"........

Fair points, Furious.

Just think that -- because there is a real cash prize involved at the end -- it can't be completely random.
