Production probably saw Anand using his phone, grabbed hold of it and found the text message on it. They then revealed it to the Donald, who understandably was mad.

We figured someone who (whom?) he texted narc'ed him out -- which would explain the couple of days time lag between the challenge and the board room and why Armand still thought he could have plausible deniability.

ETA - Maybe this is what Donald meant when he said "they obviously didn't think highly of you" when Amand said no one he texted showed up.
