"Finale...will there be a runner up prize?"

If anyone is watching the finale, I have one opinion for you to agree or disagree with.

No matter who wins, if Donald doesn't give the runner up a significant(!) amount of money for their charity (out of his own pocket), I'll be furious.

I'll be even more furious if it's Trace who loses, and doesn't get any money for his charity. He's not there to prove he's got the biggest cojones, he wants to help his daughter.

Guess I can only hope that some viewers are moved to contribute on their own (like me, though what I can afford is pitiful).

NO spoiler...I haven't started watching, but I'm afraid Piers will win. Never mind that I dislike him. It'll kill me to see Trace's disappointment at not being able to help his daughter.

Thoughts? Predictions?

(NO spoilers...I guess we're on the wrong page for that.)

I thought they were each going to get the money from their part of the auction?

Isn't that what they said last show???

So unless one of them sells nothing they'll both get something.

If you don't want to do it I will start an ECST on the spoiler forum for you.

http://community.realitytvworld.com/boards/DCForumID75/423.shtml, it's started, feel free to post any spoilers you want on that thread.

You'll be furious if he doesn't (didn't) give money to Trace's charity?

Trace won a good amount for his charity, and more than that he raised awareness.

My guess is Trace is a pretty happy guy right now. He made it to the final, raised a lot of awareness for his charity, raised money for his charity, and promoted a song. Plus, Trump made it possible, and relatively easy for people like us to donate money. I have to think Trace raised the 2nd most money for his charity behind Piers.

Actually, the only money Trace raised for his charity was what he got for his auction items last night. It was something like $76,000, which is a lot of money (at least to me) but no where near what Piers raised. Trace did however raise awareness. I had never heard of his charity before. My local country radio station is doing $50 for a song request this morning to raise money for Trace's charity. They are going to also put all the names in a drawing for an autographed guitar from Trace, that as they said, he doesn't know he is signing yet, but they are sure he will do it cuz that's how he is.

That's pretty cool...so what song did you request?
Something from Ronnie Milsap?

No not Ronnie...I want to hear "Welcome to Hell" by Trace. If you don't know, it's a song he wrote after 9/11, in it he is the devil talking to the hijackers.

Sometime during the show, trump said he was donating 250,000 grand of his own to be split between piers and trace charities.

I could be mistaken, but I thought he said he was giving $250,000 to the winner's charity......

I fully expected Trump to announce that he liked Trace's charity so much, he would give it a wad of cash too, but it didn't happen. It could be they just ran out of time - they were rushing by the end.

One thing I did notice that I thought was odd - did anyone else notice the announcement for items from the show being auctioned off online (much like Survivor does every season) - it clearly said that the proceeds would go the the Intrepid Fallen Hero's Fund. Piers's charity. No mention of any of those proceeds going to Trace's charity. Hmmmm.

To the winner go the spoils, so Piers does get the lion share of proceeds to his chosen charity. It was a competition, after all.

During the live broadcast, text messages were submitted at a cost of $1.00, with net proceeds going to both charities. The online auction of items raised money to go to Piers' charity. And for 2 weeks, you can download Trace's single via iTunes with all proceeds going to FAAN.

This is in addition to the money raised during the auction, which went to each of the charities. So regardless of who won and who lost, both charities achieved their goals... exposure and donations.

Piers won from a business perspective, but Trace did succeed in raising awareness of a serious issue. Plus he built exposure for himself outside the confines of the world of country music, allowing him to reach even more people than he otherwise might have been able to.

Overall, this was one of my favorite seasons for The Apprentice. I wasn't really planning to watch it, but I'm glad I did. I've never really been a fan of country music, but having three daughters of my own helped me make a connection with Trace. His new single really struck a cord with me, and while I'm still not a country music fan, I am now a fan of Mr. Adkins.

I know a lot of non-country music fans who know adore Trace. He played with character and integrity. But he really showed his humor while discussing the taking care of the BSB. If you see many of his videos, he does have a great zest for life.

I agree, this was a really great season for the Apprentice. I'm glad they did it this way.

They did say all the proceeds from Trace's single that he performed when you download it from Itunes for the next month or so will go to his charity.

So both got a chance for some additional money.
