why these girls would even do this show? i mean i loved it and am glad they did, but i can't help wonder, they don't need money or fame.

yeah they have fame...but there has never been any substance to their publicity.

paris was already showing off when shannen doherty made a comment about about her. she said something like "well i have a show on FOX and her show is on the sci-fi channel!"

**also~ i didn't even know lionel richie had a daughter before this show.

i guess my thought is still why? publicity? what for. i get what you mean, but if i was them, i would never have put myself out like that. i'm rich, i'm famous....

I don't understand either I hope they were'nt trying to prove a point to people that they can manage out in the country lol!! I think it might be publicity even though both of them especially Paris were already recieving alot of exposure thanks to channels like E, various magazines and definately the internet ..I initially thought that Paris did the show to get better publicity...cuz right now it's mostly negative but after seeing previews and finally watching the show...I don't know what to think !!

I read an interview with Paris that said she learned the value of a dollar and how hard people have to work for their money. She says she made a few friends and has even called the shows "mom and dad" since shooting ended.
It will all play out and I cannot wait. Another thing Paris said was that after a couple of weeks she got used to getting up early and dealing with the cows etc.. we'll see..... stay tuned! :0

I mean it may be as simple as they were offered the show and they said, " What the hell? Why not?"

I agree. They don't need more publicity. Well, maybe Nicole Richie, but Paris and Nikki have had more publicity than Michael Jackson.

I saw an interview with Nicole on Good morning America and she they did it because they had been offered a ton of reality shows before, but it was all about following them while they shopped, and they wanted to do "something different and real."
-not saying I believe it, but there you go.

Kewpie, first, welcome to the boards. I'm mostly a Survivor junkie, writing lots of parodies and summaries and songs and high-falutin' analysis and gunk, but lately I've been bridging out, kindof like the girls here.

To answer your question: it's a homerun of reasons why ....

1. Ego

2. Narcissism

3. They're slumming for fun and thrills, since the jet-set scene's gotten a little boring lately.

4. Of course they don't need the money or fame, but MORE IS BETTER! Besides, this falls under the category of noblesse oblige.
