"Labor Day"

So is anyone still laboring? Most people I know are retired. I will be too in another year. ironically, my skills and job position put me in better stead to earn more than I have in quite a while. Ah well! Certainly have been in worse dilemmas..

Retired last year. It was a tough decision in one way, I was making more than I ever did before, more money than I could spend. And I really loved my job.

However, it really wasn't that tough a decision, I wanted to retire while I was healthy enough to do stuff, travel, etc., and now that we have Igor to work the still, I live life on my terms. No wake up time, no get dressed and go to work time, no need for daily showers, and no need for shaving every day. I can pick my nose any time I want. Bohemian.

Now that I'm on the dole I am happy, and have begun diligently working at not working.

Somedays there is only the need to walk around in my Robe. It's Purple, of course. The Crown I leave by the nightstand. Too heavy, with all the gold and jewels. it's only for special occasions..

I'll admit that this is another good thing about Canada.

But you should try walking around with it in you, rather than you in it.

Worst fight ever with my girlfriend. Whiskey makes me mean!

For anyone born on the first Monday of September, it sure was Labor Day for their mom.

I'm at work, hardly working.

Whoops! You had a point. I just was talking to one of my old neighbors. He has three sons with his wife, and four others born "elsewhere". One in Italy, One in Germany, and Two in Chile. He's Italian himself, and still going strong.

My "forced" retirement was in 2014. Turned out it was the best thing to happen as it gave me all the time to take care of my honey.
We saved aggressively over the years. My home and auto are paid for. I should be able to live comfortably on social security only needing the savings for special things and emergencies. Wish I still had my baby to enjoy retirement.

Good night Alene.

This is not an home improvement board. Beyond these gates lie Snark, Snark, and the occasional snarkiness.
