(Pissed off the old lady again, I see. Well, Hungry Man is better than frozen cardboard burritos).

There's nothing like a home cooked meal of beer battered something to satisfy a man. Woman. Person. Whatever.

(And, 28 grams of protein!)

But it looks like an errant kernel of corn, sensing his (her, it's) time was up tried to escape thru the potatoe (Potato. Pototos. Whatever.) swamp. Footprints thru the brownie was all the proof the authorities needed to apprehend that rogue, and it'll be death by mastication for him, I'm guessing.

Whut? No gravy for the mashed potatoes, either?

And what's that funky white stuff on top of your beer battered chicken?

True taste test: See if Fido will eat it.

Too drastic? We need JuneBug over here to give Foonermints a few Rachel Ray-type tips for ccoking. Before he dies.

So let's talk diet and raw meat. Did you hear that a pride of lions devoured a group of 10 elephant poachers? No, there's no punchline. It apparently happened:

"Even though hunting is outlawed within the national parks of Zimbabwe, ten men were illegally hunting for elephants last month within the park’s boundaries when they stumbled upon twenty adult Southwest African lions. The pride of lions were not exactly, you know, expecting human visitors, so they immediately attacked the intruders. The attack was so instantaneous that five of the ten men were killed, three severely injured, and two lightly injured. The animals were mostly unhurt. The men who survived the attack ran to a nearby village for medical help where they were promptly arrested. Ah, karma!
“The men were visibly traumatized by the attack,” said Commissioner-General Chihuri,“and after seeing their injuries and the remains of their dead comrades, I can see why. These guys were tough criminals carrying ak-47s, but they were literally shred to pieces and devoured by the lions."

Fresh Poacher meat. So much better than canned Poacher sausages.

I watched some lions (male) munch on an elephant carcass they (the females) had killed the night before. One was so full his stomach lay to one side of him.

Oh, deary do, what is clotted cream indeed? Although I have journeyed the world far and wide, I've rarely encountered it -- only upon the British isle for a tea at a stables along a daylong drive from London to Land's End (which also included Stonehenge and Beacon Hill) and also regularly during the week whilst I was in Jersey Island on the Channel, hosted by a local resident living there.

It's basically steam evaporated milk, with the cream floating up to the top as it cools, clumping up (into thick "clots") as it reaches the surface. This very rich (and high fat) cream is skimmed off (literally leaving skim milk below) and it is served with tea (preferably Ceylon teas) to make what is known as "cream tea".

From someone who doesn't care much for hot tea, I found cream tea quite delicious and it goes very well with a serving of scones and seasonal strawberry jam on a matching porcelain plate.

Good choice, Wagyu is wonderful. Way better than the Hungry Man I'm having, which, BTW is all your fault.

But, not to rain on a parade, I hope you realize that it's not Kobe. You can tell by the price, Kobe is at least $20 a oz., any cheaper and you know it's fake. Even then there's a real good chance someone is trying to fool you.

Woohoo! Manager's special chicken!

We've never tried the chili seasoning mix. Is it a powder that you mix water with or is it more like a BBQ sauce?

My wife often prepares Malaysian chili sauces that we often have on almost everything from fish to chicken (and even stir-fried into some vegetables like kangkong and asparagus). She starts with fresh chilis, cleans the seeds out of them, and then runs them through the blender to make sort of a chili paste out of it. It adds a lot of zest to the meal!

A royal agman creation

Back Yard Chicken.

I pat dry the chicken legs or thighs, then crust them with the powder mix. I believe that they are oily enough, and cook pretty well. Your wife sounds like a wonder! Next week we'll have "Hatch Chilis" in California. You gave me an idea on how to prepare them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPlLRyH_jP8#action=share guess it's a "cut and paste"

The Malaysian variant is known as "ayam masak merah" (literally, "chicken cooked red"). Here's a pic of what it looks like off of the stove or grill.

We get the dried chilis directly from Malaysia (either packed to bring back when we visit or delivered by international courier by our family there). It's the locally grown chili that's dried prior to using for cooking. You have to take those little white seeds out or it's really hot! It seems the oil concentration is highest in the seeds.

I'm a native son of Louisiana and Texas where they serve a lot of sort of hot food (esp. S. Texas), but I have never developed a taste for really hot chilies in food. I like to be able to taste the food without having to use a fire extinguisher.

But some do like it.

PSA:I've also lived in Mexico, and once (only once, I learned from this) I was asked by the chef (I was eating at a friend's house) if I wanted it to be a "little hot". In Texas, that means maybe a jalapeno or some other relatively low heat pepper is part of the dish. And I can do Jalapenos. So I said, sure, a "little hot" would be nice. But there, among people who have had their taste buds burnt out since early in their childhood, a "little hot" still means that they will use those little red lady fingers or any one of a myriad kinds of those little devils that are hotter than the deepest depths of a volcano, a "little hot" is still an eleven on the Kingfish hot scale.

Since then it's been "Sin chili, Nada de nada de nada de ninguna caliente, por favor."

I've since found that there are a lot of other places in the world who like to eat lava also.

That looks like a BBQ spice rub to me.

Yeah, I've heard habaneros are maximum hot. Up there with Ghost peppers. Neither of which I have personal experience with.

Every once in a while I take my car to an auto-wash run by a family from Mexico (yeah, I'm a lazy wuss). In the rear of the place they have a small three furrow garden. Two and three quarters of the furrows are growing dangerous looking peppers. I cannot understand why, if you have a very limited garden, would you devote almost all of it to growing little instruments of mouth torture.

I've become friendly with them. But I will not accept any invitations to eat, no matter how much I like Mexican food, and I really really do. So far they haven't offered.

Tell those dainty tidbits that are conveniently lower in the eating order than myself to come out with their fins up, and nothing will happen to them. Nothing, except what is just the natural order of things, from a kingfish's standpoint.

Any and all hiding anchovies are also ordered to surrender, preferably pickled in a briny olive oil marinade, maybe with a few capers thrown in.
