"5 year Anniversary of the War in Ukraine"

As with all wars, it really put our little world here in a hell of a mess.

I'm one of the few who was able to keep original username and DAW count.

Still here but I had to change my identity. The "cure" didn't help me in this case.

Hell, I've even resorted to trolling dead threads! I guess that's a sign I've really hit rock bottom. Intervention will probably be needed!

My family and I are good, but we know Malaysians who lost family members in the MH17 shoot-down less than two years ago because of this conflict.

Sorry, I've been busy tending to a political party that's about to break up. There has always been a tension between social conservatives and libertarians (yay!) within the party, but this year both have been swept aside by reality TV, xenophobia, and Trumpism. I doubt the party can survive the crushing defeat it will suffer as a result. Personally, I'm picturing a McGovern '72 or Mondale '84, even though the Democrats are running the second weakest candidate imaginable.

I was thinking more along the lines of Goldwater '64. I still have an original campaign gift gold foil matchbook in mint condition that my mom gave me and told me to keep for posterity.

Trump has, for all intents and purposes, nuked the Pub party.

Hey. I already have eight people in my house. That's enough.

I hate to admit it, but I'm not quite old enough to really remember Goldwater '64, although I know how it came out. My political memories start in 1967, which shows that I wasn't using hallucinogens at that point.

I remember the bumper sticker as a kid. Not really too much the politics, I just thought that AuH2O was clever.

It was the same summer that we watched Dr. Strangelove at the outdoor movies.

This was back when they used heavy metal speakers to hang up on the car windows, although I spent most of my time on the big swing sets under the giant screen for a nice panoramic view of the movie.

Weeeee-hah!

So, if the Justice Dept indicts Hillary - fat chance of that in Obama's administration, but if they do - would that disqualify her from being or running for president? Is there a "No Potential Felons" filter for President?

Or, if she is found guilty before Nov. 2 - again fat change of that with Obama in charge - would that disqualify her?

Finally, if she were to be found guilty after Nov 2 and before inauguration, would the VP-elect assume the office?

If found guilty after her Inauguration I assume she would face impeachment. And probably resign. So we better pay attention to who is selected to run under her as VP.

It would be an interesting historical footnote if she were to be impeached. Like Bill.

But her impeachment might be the only way to dim the otherwise inevitable possibility of Chelsea running for President.

I remember the King of Nepal being killed by his brother, a known rapist, then after assuming the throne for a few days, croaking himself.
Good thing another rapist became king. Jeebuz!

After that they formed a Republic of sorts. I was long gone.

Maybe Chelsea should check into her own Kingdom?
After Obama is gone, anyway..
