It's better than talking about The World's Stupidest Slant Pass.

Marginally.

ETA: Yes, I know I unfixably typoed the title. So it goes.

Also, that error was more vaguely amusing than most of the commercials.

Yes, I saw the ponies. I'm guessing there are ultra-macho football fans still hiding under their couches.

Awww, the little puppy and his Budweiser Clydesdale buddies didn’t bring a tear to your eye?

Or the little dead boy? (So, they filmed a commercial, then killed off a kid just to make a point about household safety? I guess anything goes in Super Bowl Advertising. And I would think it says more about the safety of signing an advertising contract - 100% mortality - that any danger posed by the household).

With the puppy commercial: it was a little too blatant in what it was trying to do (much like beer), plus I'm more than a little sick of the All Wolves Are Evil trope. For the other spot... as a stomach punch ad, it did the job. But I can't rate it as an advertisement because that wasn't exactly the goal, plus someone had to die for it.

I felt the best spot of the night was Liam declaring eternal vengeance. And probably getting paid twenty million to do so. Again. But at least he can spoof the pigeonhole he's been shoved into, and did so with aplomb.

I thought there was some humor, enough for an inner chuckle but not sufficient for the out loud kind, when Mindy Kaling, the eternal fat side-kick chick, decides that she is invisible and that that is actually a good thing in that it opens up her life, there aren't the restriction in her life that there had been. Until Matt Damon spoils it.

I think the basis of Mindy's appeal is that everyone can identify with her to some extent. That and the fact that she is an impressive writer.

As to the puppy comercial. When a 1500 lb+ Clydesdale kisses a 2 lb puppy, all my anthropomorphic instincts kick in, and I forget that each is just tasting the other so see if they might be good to eat.

I liked the puppies add, but like Estee, I thought it was too contrived. I missed the little kid add and from what I've heard, not sorry I did. Overall, I found the commercials a bit disappointing this year because usually are quite a few clever ones that really stand out. I guess the blue pill one approached this, but fell short IMO.

What was that "Brady Bunch" commercial for?

Snickers I think.

And anything that has Gilbert Gottfried in it goes on my don't buy list. Snoop Dog & something about being "hangry", loath listening to that guy.

I should be watched....closely.

I'm a fan of snickers, but not of Gilbert Gottfried or the other guy,(I think his last name is Trejo, but I can't recall his first name).

Alarmingly masterful tribal creation

Me, I liked the "first draft" and the "God's dead battery" commercials. I also thought the "Brady Bunch" was a hoot.

I find it interesting that the ad with a puppy being sold was pulled but one with a dead kid wasn't.

The Doritos ad "Middle Seat". Made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants.
