I know who I'll be rooting for.

"Well now, just who would that be? Hmmm, maybe it's...Could it be...?"

"SATAN?"

As part of the target audience, I have zero interest in this film. Not sure why people who want to make a "message" film have to be so heavy-handed and obvious

FTR, metacritic hated Blended so they aren't always right either.

*silently looks at copy of 50 First Dates on shelf*

Your mileage may vary.

I didn't set out to go after this movie. It came after me first. For the last two weeks, I've been seeing banner ads for it on nearly every site I frequent -- which includes a number which wre not, shall we say, on message. I finally got sick of the barrage and decided to investigate it once the thing came out.

It's propaganda. That's not exactly surprising. But it's not even good propaganda. there are reasons people still watch Birth Of A Nation and from the reviews, this movie nailed none of them.

So what's it trying to say? According to those reviews, it's saying if you're not Christian, you're not American. Giving other religions equal status would destroy the country. If someone doesn't have faith, they should die. And the best way to get the nation you want is by killing anyone who disagrees, although at least it has both 'sides' saying that.

Plus if you're the most famous evangelist in the world, you can totally go on the run in public and no one will know who you are. You know. Because Plot Says So.

The job of propaganda isn't just to stir the ones who already agree with you: it;s to sway those who aren't. This will sell tickets. Blu-Rays. Possibly downloads. But will it change a single mind?

Poor, poor persecuted majority. You'd think that in that whole giant field of True Americans, you'd have one decent scriptwriter...

Already seen the first 'left-wing out to destroy film' rant. Say, did you know liberals are only 30$ of the population? Clearly all the elections they win were rigged!
