LAST EDITED ON 05-26-14 AT 01:03 PM (EST)Thank You to all the brave men and women who left the safety and security of their homes, the warmth of friends and family, and the welcoming sights and sounds of their neighborhoods, never to return.
Their sacrifices have given us the opportunities to sit in front of our Computers, TVs, and other devises watching fools be foolish. We enjoy the exploits of highly talented and grossly over-paid athletes, and get to proclaim the arrival of Summer a month before the Solstice. And because of these heroes, we have the freedom to expound the fabulousness and frailties of our leaders -- who we were able to elect because of those same sacrifices.
Enjoy your barbeque, your ball game, and your time off today. But be sure to take some time to remember.
Amen."...sit in front of our Computers, TVs, and other devises watching fools be foolish."
Hey!
Oh, you meant Fooner. Well, OK then.
I worked through the weekend because of my job, and let's just say, many of our players opted to stay home and eat hamburgers. To piggyback on Molaholic's post...add in police, fire, and EMS who do a dangerous, often deadly, and always high-stress job to keep us safe at home. Especially those fighting wildfires now. We thank the military often, but these guys don't get enough thanks.
