Bugopher Robin and a Party for Pooh



One fine day, Bugopher Robin decided to throw a grand party for her good friend Princess Pooh. All of the denizens of the Hundred Posting Wood were invited and great care had been taken to decorate the hall in the very best Pooh finery.

All were assembled in the great hall and the creatures who lived under the AyaK Tree were especially anxious to have the celebrations commence. Bugopher liked the creatures from under the AyaK tree because they made those special drinks that made Bogopher and Pooh feel all wobbly and fuzzy.

Many times throughout the night, Bugopher would rush out into the middle of the hall hushing everyone and telling them to get ready to yell "congratulations, Pooh!" and "woohoo, Pooh" but each time the doorway to the hall remained empty.

Eventually the assembled would-be revelers grew weary and one-by-one they left to return to their burrows and nests and only Bugopher was left behind. Sadly and with her little antennae hanging down she left the now empty hall pondering why Princess Pooh had not appeared. A worried little buggy frown was draped across her brow as she left the hall to go in search of the missing Pooh...

Oh my heck! What a bunch of lunatics y'all are! So yesterday afternoon I see this thresd called "Congratulations Lisapooh!!" I quickly emailed Bugaboo and said "Uh - WTF Buggy? I will await your instructions."

Buggy said "Hi-jack it"

"Self," I said. "You got to come up with something good." And then, as so often happens in the creative process that goes into all my posts....Nothing. I got nothing. Nothing funny. Nothing plausible. Nothing poignant. Nothing. "Hmmm," I said. "Something will come to me."

Then the evil woman on my team did something unexpectedly and unusually evil, and I had work things I had to take care of.

Then I had a lovely phone call/accusation festival/drunken rant from my former in-law to deal with.

Then I got my feelings hurt pretty badly by a RL person who I'm sorry might be the most insensitive person in the universe and also happens to be my dad.

Then I felt sorry for myself for a good hour or so. Made dinner, played school with my kid and cleaned up the lovely mosaic of vomit that my dog left all over the carpet. Note to self: when child says can I give the dog a treat, make sure it is Milk Bones and not olives that she is giving said dog.

So, I was in a pretty crappy mood when I checked in here last night and saw all these awesome posts from people congratulating me. They didn't know why but they were. And you will be surprised at how touching that is. Truly.

"Crap," I said. "I have nothing to be congratulated for. Everyone is expecting a big announcement. I suck. Nothing good ever happens to me anyway. Why would I ever get congratulated for anything besides sucking more than any person in the universe..brak brak brak brak brak" (At this point in the story, it's important to note that I have a habit of beating up on myself to a ridiculous degree and I may possibly be insane.)

So as a mature, emotionally secure, stable and rock solid chick who can tackle any problem head on and conquer it: I decided I was a huge diappointment to the universe, ate a lot of leftover pizza and went to bed.

So what is the point of this story? Uh, I don't really know. Actually I do. I think it's pretty incredible that so many people would be supportive of someone they don't really know for some unknown reason. I think it says an awful lot about the people in this community and the way the treat each other. I'm very glad to be a part of it, and I'm more than a little grateful to know each of you.

The Congrats part was a bit of a goof, to get peeps to play ( remember people it is not about the Pudding, it is about the Playing) But the WooHoo and the proud of you part was definately out of Love. Of course anytime we have an oppurtunity to Love and appreciate our Pooh, we are going to do it. I did chose you to send Love to!
