Murphy went into full cardiac arrest last night and could not be revived, according to TMZ. The Los Angeles Fire Department tells the site they received a call from a home belonging to Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack. The actress was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Yikes!

She was only 32.

RIP and may her friends and family find healing and peace.

From some of the reports.

That seems odd. Sounds like the county doesn't care and will do one anyway.

I thought an autopsy had to be done if the death was outside of a hospital or care facility. Maybe it varies by county?

Morning radio guys looked up the laws in Cal.

Looks like it is up to the medical examiner if they do it or not.

I dunno, they said well she had the flu it is obviously a natural death why spend the money.

I'm more if someone is 32 and just drops dead it probably should be checked out. Sure some deaths at that age are just natural causes, but I think it needs some investigation before just saying it was one of those things. It isn't like 32 is elderly or anything.

I saw a report that she had a heart problem and a serious drug addiction. I would think that the medical examiner will push for an autopsy.

RIP Brittany. It's sad to see someone die so young.

She was such a cutie-pie.

Sadly, she lost way too much weight. One can only speculate on her cause of death as of now, but I can only guess that her rapid weight loss and money to spend had something to do with it .

RIP.

Rapid weight loss and a lack of proper nutrients and minerals such as potassium could lead to a cardiac arrest.

So she might have been saved by a banana.

I suspect she was anorexic.

I had such a huge crush on her when I was in college and I'm genuinely saddened by this news. RIP.

I am a huge fan of Brittany Murphy! It is so sad to hear that she has passed away.

The whole story is strange to me...what's even stranger is that her husband was recently rushed to the hospital recently under strange circumstances. I can't find the story (admittedly, I didn't look that hard) but it was only a few weeks ago. Upon landing after a flight from Puerto Rico or something, her husband was 'incoherent" and was hospitalized. Brittney later said he was suffering from an asthma attack (or something). There are also some pretty harsh stories about her husband's shady past. Who knows what is real and what is tabloid!? It's all very strange.

I wonder what the real story is. A 32 year old doesn't usually die of 'natural causes'. Course, does anybody in Hollywood really die of 'natural causes'?

RIP Brittany.

Thanks for the link!! Sure is strange, isn't it?
How can that be just a coincidence?

I guess anything is possible, but it just doesn't add up.
