"Summer Movie Season"
Posted by bacon on 04-20-08 at 10:10 PM
We're almost at the end of April and that can only mean that the Summer Movie Season is about to begin! It's that time of year when my hopes of great movies are sky high, which is followed up by my hopes being completely dashed once August ends. Still, I can once again dream the impossible dream of having every on-paper blockbuster actually turn out to be an incredibly awesome event. Here is a list of the biggest films hitting theaters this Summer and a rating to show how interesting each one looks(1-10 scale).Iron Man(May 2)
Anticipation: 7
You know all of the fanboys are wetting their pants over this one. Personally, I can't say I know much about Iron Man. However, I did enjoy playing with an Iron Man action figure when I was younger, and this trailer looks pretty cool. I've got fairly high hopes that this will meet my expectations.
Made of Honor(May 2)
Anticipation: 1
Patrick Dempsey may be the most boring good looking man on the planet. Something tells me this "My Best Friend's Wedding" clone is gonna stink just as much as "My Best Friend's Wedding". God help the dude who gets dragged to this, instead of "Iron Man", by his woman.
Speed Racer(May 9)
Anticipation: 5
The Wachowski Brothers("The Matrix Trilogy") take charge of this live action remake of the cult cartoon. I can never completely count out anything these guys put their hands on. However, I must say that the trailer is leaving me with feelings of doubt...and possibly seizures.
What Happens In Vegas(May 9)
Anticipation: 2
Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher star in this film about two morons that get hitched in Vegas and end up hitting the Jackpot at one of the Casinos. Now they must stay together for a certain amount of time before they can both be granted half of the money. Blah! Not only does this sound ridiculous, but I'm pretty sure I saw Ashton taking a whiz in a kitchen sink during the trailer. Needless to say I'm staying away.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian(May 16)
Anticipation: Pending
Here's a confession: I never saw the original movie. But I plan on renting it, I swear!
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull(May 22)
Anticipation: 8
Yes, Harrison Ford is like a million years old now. But who cares? Personally, I'm looking forward to this fourth film in the beloved franchise. Plus, Steven Spielberg is hard to bet against.
Sex and the City(May 30)
Anticipation: 3
Ok, Kristin Davis is sorta cute. However, I've never found the rest of these gals to be particularly good looking, which really takes away from the fact that they seem to be naked on the show a lot. Plus, what more could these sluts possibly have to say? I'm guessing not a whole lot.
You Don't Mess With the Zohan(June 6)
Anticipation: 6
Adam Sandler is one tough guy to figure out. For all of this movies that I found mildly good("Happy Gilmore", "50 First Dates") there were just as many I found horribly unfunny("Anger Management", "The Waterboy"). Still, any movie where a character is described as being a "deadly Israeli Hairstylist" sounds silly enough to work.
Kung Fu Panda(June 6)
Anticipation: 6
An animated film about various forest critters who know a lot of Kung Fu, for some reason. Jack Black is the lead voice and normally he'd be funny reading a phonebook. So I'm willing to give this movie the benefit of the doubt.
The Happening(June 13)
Anticipation: 5
M. Night Shyamalan was once called "the new Spielberg". My how things have changed. He's certainly a gifted filmmaker, but his recent work has been downright laughable("The Village", "The Lady in the Water"). Still, I'm hoping he can break the slump with his new movie about an invisible environmental nightmare.
The Incredible Hulk(June 13)
Anticipation: 7
Yes, the last Hulk move was possibly the worst comic book adaptation of all time. Hopefully this restart will put the "Incredible" back into Hulk. Rumors from the set have said that Edward Norton was being snippy about the final cut of the film. That may sound like bad news until you realize that the last time Norton made a stink on a set it turned into "American History X".
Get Smart(June 20)
Anticipation: 5
Steve Carell is a personal favorite. Still, the last time he made a summer movie it turned out to be "Evan Almighty". Here's hoping this will be funnier in the same vain as "The Office".
The Love Guru(June 20)
Anticipation: 4
Mike Myers vehicles usually hit homeruns. Austin Powers and Wayne Campbell were Grade A characters, but I have serious doubts about Guru Pitka.
Wall.E (June 27)
Anticipation: 7
Pixar hasn't let me down yet, and I hold out great faith in them. The previews for their latest doesn't necessarilly look as good as "Toy Story", but their track record speaks for itself.
Hancock(July 2)
Anticipation: 8
Will Smith is a superhero who appears to be completely flawed. This movie has had great buzz thus far, and it's hard to count Smith out when it comes to summertime.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army(July 11)
Anticipation: 8
The original "Hellboy" was a solid adaptation of the cult comicbook and there's no reason to think the sequel won't be just as good. Guillermo del Toro("Pan's Labryinth") is once again pulling directing duties, which only boosts the chances that this will be more "Godfather II" than "Exorcist II".
Journey To the Center of the Earth 3D(July 11)
Anticipation: 4
Stuff flies at the screen and gives you a giant headache. I'm still trying to recover from "Beowulf", so I may end up skipping this one.
The Dark Knight(July 18)
Anticipation: 10
1. The Joker is the greatest villian in comicbook history. 2. Heath Ledger's death, while tragic, makes it more interesting. 3. "Batman Begins" was one of the best movies of the last 10 years. 4. Christopher Nolan, one of the best directors going, is once again in charge of Batman. 5. Christian Bale, one of the best actors going, is once again Batman. 6. Harvey Dent(Aka: Two-Face) is making an appearance. 7. Maggie Gyllenhaal is taking over for the statue-like Katie Holmes. That's just seven reasons off the top of my head.
Step Brothers(July 25)
Anticipation: 7
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are two grown men living with their single parents. Those single parents then marry, thus making them Step Brothers. Sounds like comic gold!
The X-Files: I Want To Believe(June 25)
Anticipation: 7
It's been a while since we've visited Mulder and Scully, and enough time has passed to get me interested again. Plus, it's good to know that the new movie will be a "creature film" and not a "conspiracy film". We all know the creature episodes were far superior.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor(August 1)
Anticipation: 3
Another Mummy movie? Good lord! And it doesn't help that this movie comes out just a couple of months after the movie franchise it has so blatantly ripped off(Indiana Jones).
The Rocker(August 1)
Anticipation: 7
Rainn Wilson as a wannabe emo rocker? Sounds great! Now if they could just give John Krasinski a movie worth being in!
Pineapple Express(August 8)
Anticipation: 8
A stoner comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco? I'm in "Freaks and Geeks" heaven! Wait, can't these two guys just reunite with Judd Apatow and bring that show back?
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2(August 8)
Anticipation: 5?
I put the question mark there because I didn't see the original. I can't make up my mind if I think four young women sharing pants is sexy or gross. Maybe I'm just better off not seeing this.
Tropic Thunder(August 15)
Anticipation: 7
Ben Stiller stars in this comedy about prima donna actors who accidentally get caught up in a real war while filming a fake one. Sounds very un-PC and very funny.
Hamlet 2(August 22)
Anticipation: 8
A movie that makes fun of other movies in which teachers end up being great heroes to all of their students(ie: Dead Poets Society). The title alone is enough to get me in the theater.
Well, there you have it. That's a lot of movies. As with any summer, I'm just hoping that the majority of them won't be a gigantic waste of time.

WOW, I am so out of the loop.Iron Man(May 2)
Anticipation: 4
Made of Honor(May 2)
Anticipation: 2
I never got into Grey's Anatomy. Was he supposed to be dreamy or steamy? Don't know, don't really care.
I thought MBFW was obnoxious, I don't think this will fare much better.
Speed Racer(May 9)
Anticipation: ?
Don't really know much about it.
What Happens In Vegas(May 9)
Anticipation: 5
If I am in the mood for something really silly, then I'll see this when it hits the cheap theaters. Loved her in the Mask.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian(May 16)
Anticipation: 9
Ben Barnes looks hot. Yes, I'm shallow that way.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull(May 22)
Anticipation: 9.5
WAHOO! Opens on my birthday. Let's see if DH gets the hint and scores tickets for opening night.
Sex and the City(May 30)
Anticipation: 2
Never got into SATC. They just seem so far removed from anything remotely interesting to me.
You Don't Mess With the Zohan(June 6)
Anticipation: ?
First I heard of this.
Kung Fu Panda(June 6)
Anticipation: 7
It's one that I can take my kids too and won't need to drink heavily to survive the 90 minutes or so.
The Happening(June 13)
Anticipation: 5
I'm with you on this one Bacon.
The Incredible Hulk(June 13)
Anticipation: 8
I must be the only person that liked the last Incredible Hulk (OK -- I admit the start of the movie was slow). But, I lvoe the Hulk, even though I have no tattoos to prove it.
Get Smart(June 20)
Anticipation: 7.5
Better than Broderick in Inspector Gadget.
The Love Guru(June 20)
Anticipation: 5
I know BIL will want to see this. I guess I'll wait until I see the trailer (or read Estee's review) to make up my mind if I'm going to see it.
Wall.E (June 27)
Anticipation: 8
I am always disappointed with the Pixar trailers (Can you believe I thought the Incredibles was going to be LAME), but really happy with the film when I see it. Again, probably won't have to drink heavily to survive it.
Hancock(July 2)
Anticipation: ?
I'll reserve judgement on this one.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army(July 11)
Anticipation: 0
Not my cup of tea. DH will have to see this one solo.
Journey To the Center of the Earth 3D(July 11)
Anticipation: 2
I have problems doing the willing suspension of disbelief thing.
The Dark Knight(July 18)
Anticipation: 9
It'll probably bump up to 10 when I see Bat Man Begins (told you I was out of the loop)
Step Brothers(July 25)
Anticipation: 7.5
Sounds silly. I loved Will Farrel in Elf.
The X-Files: I Want To Believe(June 25)
Anticipation: 4
Never got into the x-files and don't have the time to do the catch up necessary.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor(August 1)
Anticipation: 1
No interest what-so-ever.
The Rocker(August 1)
Anticipation: 7.5
Rainn Wilson as a wannabe emo rocker? Sounds great!
I lvoe, lvoe, lvoe Rainn Wilson.
Now if they could just give John Krasinski a movie worth being in!
Word.
Pineapple Express(August 8)
Anticipation: ?
Haven't heard anything about this yet.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2(August 8) Anticipation: 4
I'm beginning to realize that I am not much of a chick flick chick.
Tropic Thunder(August 15)
Anticipation: 7
Ben Stiller? Loved Dodge ball, this one could be really funny.
Hamlet 2(August 22)
Anticipation: ?
Sounds interesting (and I am a huge fan of that genre). I'll have to find out who's behind it.

Anticipation: 5
Like bacon said, it's hard to bet against Pixar.
Hancock(July 2)
Anticipation: 8
Will Smith is money. Every time.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army(July 11)
Anticipation: 1
Just how many comic-book adaptations can we have this summer? And this one's a sequel to a movie I didn't see.
Journey To the Center of the Earth 3D(July 11)
Anticipation: 1
Pass.
The Dark Knight(July 18)
Anticipation: 7

Hated the original snoozefest movie.
Tropic Thunder(August 15)
Anticipation: 1
No interest.
Hamlet 2(August 22)
Anticipation: 1
No interest.
So when's the next Harry Potter due out?

For the first time in...well, maybe never...I am looking forward to summer films. Amazingly enough, there are several that I will actually pay to see. Summer movie season is almost always painful for me because I'm not much of a blockbuster kinda fan most of the time. I tend to enjoy the more serious "Oscar season" films of November and December. But this looks like the summer of the anomoly for me. Iron Man(May 2)
Anticipation: 8
This would normally be one I'd sit out. But I just adore Robert Downey, Jr. I could watch him read a phone book. So I will suffer through my aversion to comic book figures (and I'll do it again later, as you'll see) to see him.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull(May 22)
Anticipation: 9
I'm probably being suckered here, but I still find Ford an attractive guy and I'm really happy to see Karen Allen back. So I'll be going, even if only for nostalgia's sake.
Sex and the City(May 30)
Anticipation: 7
Sorry, Bacon, but these sluts are my kind of sluts. I'm a huge fan of the show and I have already planned a Girls' Day Out with my sisters and some friends for lunch/matinee/cocktails for this one.
The Dark Knight(July 18)
Anticipation: 10
Nolan and Bale are back. I would not have needed anything else to get me into a theater, but all the word on Heath Ledger's Joker is that he's amazing. There's Oscar talk and it was there before he died. It only seems to have ratcheted up with the tragedy. I'm practically peeing my pants with anticipation for this.
The X-Files: I Want To Believe(June 25)
Anticipation: 8
Thank heaven, none of the "mythology" carp. Just a good ol' stand alone X-Files episode. No black goo always signals a great story. I've missed Mulder and Scully.
Pineapple Express(August 8)
Anticipation: 6
I'm a sucker for a good stoner movie (and so I'm hoping for a drive-in double feature with Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanomo Bay), so I may find myself checking this one out. And as a huge fan of Freaks and Geeks, I, too, cannot resist the re-teaming of Rogan and Franco.
This is definitely a record summer for me.

"Harold & Kumar"
Posted by weltek on 04-21-08 at 03:09 PM
It was so funny...about four months ago, we were casually watching Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and I said "I'm surprised they haven't made Harold and Kumar go to Amersterdam or something." A few days later we saw the ad for Guantanamo Bay.

Since Geg and I apparently have the same movie taste, I'll have to say "ditto to what Geg said" as I also adore Robert Downey Junior, SATC, X-Files and the Dark Knight. Should be lots of fun (and yes, I am also looking forward to seeing Neil Patrick Harris in Harold and Kumar 2)

Adding a couple to the list, as I've been paging through EW and have a pretty comprehensive title accumulation in front of me.Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Anticipation: 7
I didn't see the first movie in theaters: I caught it on cable, and that was by accident.
I'm not going to make the same mistake twice.
Iron Man(May 2)
Anticipation: 6
My greatest hope for this picture is based on a weird (potential non-) coincidence of casting: they have a recovering addict playing a recovering addict. I don't expect Tony's alcoholism to play into the movie: I just think it gives Downey a better handle on his personality.
My greatest worry is that every Marvel picture that wasn't a Spidey release basically svcked. I don't know if this is the one that breaks pattern.
Made of Honor(May 2)
Anticipation: 0
In the immortal words of Landru, Super King Kong Maya-Maya Don't Care.
Speed Racer(May 9)
Anticipation: 2
I'm with Bacon: the trailers are making me dizzy -- and that's just the color palette. The plot may be worse, and the dialog -- let's not talk about the dialog. In fact, let's not have the characters talk at all. Sure, they want to make a live-action anime. Good for them. If I want to watch anime, I'll go watch anime -- because this isn't it. And the original Speed Racer isn't what I think of as good anime to begin with. The original Speed Racer is what I think of as 'a bad joke'.
What Happens In Vegas(May 9)
Anticipation: 3
If this turns into The Prenuptial Agreement Of The Roses, it has a chance. Everything is going to depend on the script -- but this kind of movie generally isn't made because of the script...
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian(May 16)
Anticipation: 8
The first movie should be enough of a comfort for me to enter this one without fear, but I know there's been a couple of changes made to the original story for this one -- and any time someone tinkers with the source material for the sake of a better picture in US Weekly, the fretting begins. Caspian had better be more than just a pretty face...
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull(May 22)
Anticipation: 10
First day. First show. Probably staying for the credits. Hoping to applaud.
Sex and the City(May 30)
Anticipation: 0
They don't make ropes strong enough to tie me to the theater seat.
The Foot Fist Way (May)
Anticipation: 6
Micro-budget indie that started picking up word of mouth at Sundance and has some serious celebrity power pushing it into a theatrical release. This is where Danny McBride of Tropical Thunder and Pineapple Express came from -- it might be worth the effort to see his first work.
You Don't Mess With the Zohan(June 6)
Anticipation: 5
There's some interesting buzz starting to manifest around this one, and I know Sandler can act when the desire hits him. It's just that every film he's in is a fifty-fifty coin toss on whether he felt like being an actor that week, as opposed to a human prop. I'm just going to wait on the reviews.
Kung Fu Panda(June 6)
Anticipation: 4
Everything about this film feels like a cliche'. Everything. Computer-animating cliches just makes them extra-expensive. I have no real interest in seeing a plot that's been rehashed a thousand times before this -- only now it comes with pixels! Show me some originality and I'll consider it: until them, I'm not paying for the ticket.
The Happening(June 13)
Anticipation: 5
'You're not out of chances. But you just went on your last one.'
The Incredible Hulk(June 13)
Anticipation: 6
Hate to tell you this, Bacon, but Ed didn't get his way this time around -- they're going with the film the way the executives want it. (Ed's cut might show up as a DVD extra.) I personally found the first film as a mostly-'meh' with heavy wincing every time I saw the panel cuts -- the director happily shouting 'I'm too good for this material!' With this one, I think they've got the right Bruce. And they may leave him on the cutting-room floor.
Get Smart(June 20)
Anticipation: 7
They have to send it so far over the top that it has to duck to avoid satellites. And with this franchise, they could. The movie must be fearless: no joke too silly, no line too ridiculous, no situation too contrived. But 'fearless' is hard. Executives hate 'fearless'. We'll have to see who blinks first...
The Love Guru(June 20)
Anticipation: 4
On the one hand, Meyers apparently spent the last few years openly workshopping this character, the same way he did Austin Powers.
On the other, I couldn't stand Austin Powers.
Wall*E (June 27)
Anticipation: 10
It's Pixar. Any questions?
Wanted (June)
Anticipation: 2
Lately, as an actress, Angelina Jolie makes a great ambassador.
Encounters At The End Of The World
Anticipation: 8
It's a documentary about life at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, and it was made by Werner Herzog. He's got the talent and he's got the material. I expect results.
Hancock(July 2)
Anticipation: 3
The original title of this movie was Tonight, He Comes.
They changed it to Hancock.
Think about it.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army(July 11)
Anticipation: 8
Right character, right director, good casting, and if it's anywhere near as good as the two Cartoon Network mini-movies, I will be more than happy with the result. This is the first film on the list I'm planning on seeing with a group.
Journey To the Center of the Earth 3D(July 11)
Anticipation: 2.
*looks for 'AS' initials*
*doesn't find them*
Looks like we're off the path.
Mamma Mia (July 18)
Anticipation: 3
Meryl Streep and the songs of Abba.
That can't possibly work -- can it?
The Dark Knight(July 18)
Anticipation: 9.
Seven points of that are based on Heath Ledger. This is either going to be a legendary presentation of a nightmare or a letdown on par with Godfather III: no middle ground exists.
Step Brothers(July 25)
Anticipation: 2
Two actors I can't stand working with a premise that makes my skin crawl under a director I can't stand. By my count, that's three strikes: they're out.
The X-Files: I Want To Believe(July 25)
Anticipation: 2.
I Can't Go: I Have To Wash My Hair.
American Teen (July 25th)
Anticipation: 5.
Supposed to be the next Juno. I didn't get that much enjoying out of the first Juno.
Gonzo: The Life And Work Of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (July)
Anticipation: 9
The hard part will be finding a place that's playing it.
The Wackness (July)
Anticipation: 8
Four words: Ben Kingsley on marijuana.
Meet Dave (July)
Anticipation: 3
Eddie Murphy is an inch and a half tall, operating a full-sized robot of himself in conjunction with an equally-small crew. It either has the heart of his first Nutty Professor or it's an ultra-stupid vehicle for making Lieutenant Buttock jokes. Place your bets.
Space Chimps (July)
Anticipation: 5.
Computer-animated monkeys! In space! Fighting evil!
No, really.
Religulous (July)
Anticipation: 6
If Bill Maher and Larry Charles made a documentary about religion and politics, would you watch it?
I'm going to weigh in with a solid 'maybe'.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor(August 1)
Anticipation: 0
So the first one was bad, the second was worse, the spinoff was unwatchable -- and somehow, this has led us to a fourth installment.
Why?
The Rocker(August 1)
Anticipation: 5
Also known as the 'I probably won't care one way or another until I hear some word of mouth' rating.
Pineapple Express(August 8)
Anticipation: 5
As above, since I never took part in the F&G festival. I'll wait to see what kind of merits it gets judged on.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2(August 8)
Anticipation: 2
I just can't see a movie with 'Sisterhood' in the title. If it was Divine Ya-Ya Secrets Of The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants, it would act like an opposite-charge magnet and physically repel me from the theater.
Tropic Thunder(August 15)
Anticipation: 8
This could be the best cast (comedy division) of the summer. All they need now is something to work with. Anything. Anything at all. Please?
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Anticipation: 5.
So let's see.
The last three theatrical SW movies were horrible.
The last two animated SW series on Cartoon Network were really good.
This is an animated SW theatrical release.
...help.
The Accidental Husband (August 22)
Anticipation: 6
Uma Thurman is Dr. Laura in the way you've always wanted to see her: getting every bit of payback she has coming. The plot is this: Doc Quack advises a woman to break up with her boyfriend. As revenge, the boyfriend tampers with a lot of paperwork and creates a legal marriage with Doc Quack. Suffering ensures. Dr. Laura suffering? That's going to be hard to pass up.
Hamlet 2(August 22)
Anticipation: 7
I'm with Bacon on this one: you have to give it points just based on the raw nerve of the title.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona (August 29)
Anticipation: 2
I've gotten over Woody Allen. I'm still waiting to see if he can ever overcome himself.
Traitor (August 29)
Anticipation: 7
As a matter of fact, I do think America is ready for a movie with a Muslim hero: in this case, a CIA operative asked to infiltrate a terrorist group. I just think most of America is going to disagree with me.

Get SmartThis may or not influence you: Dwayne "the Rock Johnson is in this, as is a current WWE wrestler known as the Great Khali who'll play a KAOS agent.
Khali is 7'4, 400+ lbs, and barely speaks English (at least on screen......) (I think he might have also been in the Longest Yard remake......)

Honestly a few of these movies look interesting but I always worry about the trailers showing the whole film and the cost of going to a movie is not worth it., $10 a ticket now around here, when you have a plasma TV at home and HD movies from DTV. So I'll wait until fall to see them if I'm still interested in any of them.
GO WINGS!

Repeat everything in Weltek's categories for me
except the last one. I don't go to movies so there's really none I "want to see".
Completely un-movie hip Jbug.

Not sure I want to see any of these, but I may just have to go see 88 Minutes -- it sounds like a pig-out deluxe in the annals of bad movie enjoyment. A smattering of review excerpts from Rotten Tomatoes:Quite possibly the dumbest movie ever made by an Oscar winner--and that includes all the dreadful pictures with Rod Steiger, F. Murray Abraham and even Cuba Gooding, Jr.
Nothing would give me keener pleasure than to reveal the identity of the killer, but a day after seeing the film I have genuinely forgotten.
Essentially, it's 88 distracting minutes of watching Al Pacino work the hell out of his formidable fright wig.
It’s quite possibly the worst movie of 2008 so far.
The preposterous "88 Minutes" is a serial killer movie starring Al Pacino's festival of hair.
It's a B-movie with an A-movie cast, where the cast doesn't even perform up to B-movie standards.
There's a lot of familiar territory covered in this new thriller. Unfortunately, most of that territory falls in the land of bad movies.
88 Minutes holds you in a state of acute suspense, keeping you wondering until the very last minute whether this is the worst Al Pacino movie ever made.
This slimy, slug-minded mystery thriller starts out dead on arrival and then, like three-day-old fish, gets really bad really fast. And it stays bad, ensnaring its star and every other cast member in its wretched net.
I won't bother to catalog the movie's lapses in logic. Actually, it's misleading to call them lapses, because I'm hard-pressed to recall any logic to lapse from.
The flaws in 88 Minutes can be found in several areas (writing, directing, editing, acting, continuity, makeup and cinematography, for starters) and are fairly extensive.
What a bore. I guessed the identity of the killer from the character's second appearance, and I'm not that smart.
Movies this stupid usually have names like Pauly Shore or Larry the Cable Guy attached, not Al Pacino.
Even a viewer with incredibly low expectations will be staggered by its badness.
Preposterous in design, abysmal in execution and laugh-out-loud funny when it's straining for drama, the film doesn't even honor the lean-and-mean promise of its title.
…brightened only by its fleeting moments of unintentional humor…
Pacino never looks very frazzled, even as his lethal deadline approaches. He only gets louder.
How Al Pacino found himself roped into this wacky movie is another mystery entirely and one that doesn't take much research past the words "yacht payment" to solve.
Shockingly inept from start to finish...
If one is the loneliest number, two is company, three is a crowd and four is an orgy, then eighty-eight must be the universal symbol for unwatchability.
