Hey guys...wish me luck! I'm off to a different state to interview for a job as head coach at an ice rink there. It's truly a dream job...very nervous and very excited...

I'm back! I'm not sure what's going to happen with it yet. They very enthusiastically offered me the job, but I asked for a lot more money than they were apparently prepared to pay.
My Dad and uncle had spent the entire day before working on teaching me how to negotiate. ("The most important part of negotiating is being able to walk away from it.") So, when they said "There's absolutely no way we can pay you that" I smiled and said "okay, well, thank you for your time". They tried to make me feel bad for asking..."because you're so young" and all that. But I stuck to what I asked for and they spent the next hour brainstorming ways to make it work. I'll wait now. I know they want me, so we'll see if they can make it work.
