There are a couple of commercials that make DH & me actually laugh out loud - they are so funny.

I LOVE the Happy Feet ones about flufacts.com (tho I have no idea what flufacts are and don't care to go there to find out).

We LOVE the Mazda ZOOM ZOOM ones too. I like that kid who whispers "zoom zoom"

I used to HATE the Old Navy commercials around here. They were so stupid - haven't seen any for a while - thank goodnes!

There's one (I think Verizon) where Dad asked Daughter if she's meeting up with a friend - the daughter says let me check and holds her hand/fingers up to her head - the call me thingy. If I had a daughter and if she did this to me, she'd have to go outside to "pick up her phone"! WHY do advertisers think it is cute or funny for children to act that way to their parents??

I kind of like the recent Priceline one with William Shatner sweet talking the hotel desk attendant. A bit gender roleish, but made me giggle.

It's an information page about an antiviral "flu" medication called Tamiflu, which my pharmaceutical rep DW happens to promote. It's WONDERFUL if you have, or feel like you're coming down with, the flu.

ETA: I too hate that phone add with the smart ass kids (it's actually two different girls). I'd whack 'em both.

In my city, we have this local furniture store owner who does his own commericals. I have one double-barreled word for you: cringe-worthy. He always dresses up as a super-hero (superman, batman, etc..) and conquers the prices. They are so bad they area almost good, in a campy sort of way!

On the same vein as the daughter being cheeky to her dad..i HATE HATE HATE it when they show people talking with their mouths full of food. That is just gross. I would whack my son upside the head if he spoke to me with his mouth full of food (and then he sees people do it on TV and thinks it is acceptable...arghghghgh...why can't people on TV have good manners!!) Okay, so don't get all bent out of shape about the "whack upside the head" comment... I am saying it tongue in cheek..but at least not food in cheek!!

They have these really, really funny commercials promoting the NHL...with hockey players doing really goofy things to each other (maybe these only come on during hockey games?)

And..if I see that stupid Jessica Simpson Pizza Hut commerical again I am going to hurl. Seriously.

Bad: Toenail fungus ads. Ads by the loud voiced guy that sells Oxycleaner, and other things.

Good; (sorry Miss Kitty) Jessica Simpson ads, althoug it's the HDTV ad that I like. She nails "Sexy" in my book.

The cavemen ads were OK the first 200 times.

I like the Mac/PC ads.

I don't really see that many ads anymore with DVR, so nothing has really been irking me lately.

Love, love, love the PC/Mac commercials. They're DH's favorite. If we're fastforwarding on the TiVo, he'll actually stop and watch those commercials.

My personal favorite is the one from about 6 months ago with the home movie software - Mac's is this beautiful girl in a dress and PC's is this ugly guy in a dress. I just like when the ugly guy comes in and says "What's up? PC home movie."

There is nothing entertaining about the little green cartoon phlegm family setting up a home in your body. Yuck!

And I really don't like that Edge car commercial "I like to live on the edge..." The first time I saw it? Cool. The next gajillion? Annoying. Oh and take a look at the woman passenger's smile. Crreeeeeeepy.

Love it! - There's a commercial playing here that I think is for Cadbury chocolate (maybe Caramilk?). The commercial shows the same scene over and over, with a couple who are in their 30s in the first scene, then 40s, 50s, 60s, etc. The man returns from work to find his wife on the couch with a last piece of chocolate left. When she sees him she gobbles it down, rather than saving it for him.

This always makes me laugh, because it is exactly the way my DW would act!

I hate the peptobismal commericals where the affected people do their version of the macarena (heart burn, naesea, indigestion). YUCK!
Probably as bad as the Imodium commericals where a guy is sitting in a hot tub with beautiful women and his friend calls out "Hey Bob, how's the diarrhea?"

I totally agree. All the superheros doing the macarena for their "ailment" really annoys me...as do any of the diarrhea commercials. Almost as bad ANY sanitary napkin commericals, except for the Tampax "upgrade" commercial..which is mildly amusing...

Have you seen the new one where the girl grabs a pad to absorb ALL the water from the water tank (were they thinking of petticoat juntion here or what)? Now THAT is rediculas!

Also got really tire of the BOB commercials for some kind of ED pills. Fior that matter, all ED ads are distasteful. There are some things that just don't fit in a family viewing area.

The only commercials I consistently love are the ESPN commercials. Always funny and always clever.

Pretty much all the rest are dreck (with a couple of exceptions, none notable enough for me to even remember). Currently, the dreckiest one of all for me is the one for the birth control pill where a bunch of bimbos who are dressed like hookers are sitting around talking about their periods and birth control in great and completely unrealistic detail. And then the most bimbo-looking of all claims to be a doctor. I want to smash my TV every time it comes on. Instead, I mute it.

Up here, the campaign that I have hated from the start involves two animated beavers pitching Bell Canada services. While they have actually won awards for this uncreative drek, I cringe everytime that they air.

I have to believe that the adman who pitched the concept is sitting at home thinking "That's not what I had in mind when I suggested beavers".

There was a commercial that aired here through the whole month of February. It was for (multiple brands..first, for example, Mazda, then 2 mins later Dodge) car companies and played a weird techno-y version of "Hail To The Chief". Same commercial 600 car brands.

It was on EVERY time there was commercial breaks at LEAST twice, once i saw it 4 times. I would not buy any of these cars on principle. Since I wanted to get run over by one if I ever saw it again.

I was soooo happy for March, when Presidents day sales were over.

Love The caveman commercials! Much better than that stupid Gecko, and far more clever.

Despise Bob. Bob's fake smile etc. gives me the creeps. (Rather like that Burger King mentioned earlier) I mean really, if using enzyte gets you ready and able, but leaves you with that bloody stupid expression on your face, forgret it.

I also hate that guy shaking the cow. Like Bob, this guy just gives me the creeps.

I like the cellphone ad where the mom and daughter are yelling at each other as if they are arguing but they reverse all the standard things teens/moms say (e.g., Mom: You have been SO RESPONSIBLE! You leave me NO CHOICE BUT BUY YOU THIS CUTE PHONE!)

But I really really really like the ad where they guys sings about prancing nougat in the meadow. Snickers? Milky way? It's a candy bar ad. "Prancing nougat" makes me smile every time.

Mac/PC…genius. Especially the way they're destroying Vista. You're coming to a sad realization…allow or deny.

I like the blackbird one too!

My fav is the kitty litter commercial where the cat hires the bloodhound to find the litter box. Makes me smile every time.

The Geico gecko. I like him.

Lately the one that makes me chuckle is the Pantene one with the blondes and the brunettes. My daughter tends to get a little offended at the 'we can read' comment, which makes it that much better.

I love the EPT pregnancy test commercial. The pregnancy test is flying through space, and the voiceover comes on, "It's the most advanced piece of equipment you'll ever pee on". Makes me chuckle every time.

An article in my local paper says that the dogs in the commercial all found homes. Workers at shelters say that some people who come in mention these commercials.

This is an old one which never failed to make me laugh everytime I watched it.

It's a car commercial. (Don't remember the make or model). This guy gets out of his brand new silver sedan at a grocery shopping center. He walks off screen and the camera stays focused on the car. Then you hear the sound of something approaching and eventually see that it is a grocery cart headed straight for the car. Then you hear the sound of running which turns out to be the guy who just left his car. He comes back running just in time to tackle the cart away from his car. The guy and the cart wind up off screen and you hear this great crash followed by the guy saying in a forced voice, "I'm ok." :-D

Just saw the new "Goodlife" cat food commercial. I absolutely love it.

The other one I recently love? A radio spot for Max (?), a Canadian food store. They're selling their low price on milk & it's a spot where some woman is in a pharmacy, instead of Max) to buy milk and gets accosted by some old guy with a toenail fungus. Sounds gross, but it's funny as heck. I lvoe Canadian radio commercials.

Every Hoveround and Scooter Store commerical.

"You Made Me Love You" is an all-time great: 2 minutes long, the woman at the end singing, the cut scenes where there should be turning, the child outrunning the hoveround.

The Joy and Bernice at the Grand Canyon is older and not as good, but it's still top tier. HOVEROUND HOVEROUND! Now I'm free to see the world!

Then there is the new one, with the Beach Boys as the background. Round Round Get Around I Get Around. Going through the mall in a synchronized hoverrounding and through the woods. It still doesn't cost me on penny.

The Scooter Store is quality too, but lacking Tom Kruse. The guy who moves ahead with his hand while staring creepily into the camera is amazing acting.

Here's another that's rather dumb or I'm just getting tired of it.
The one on the fishing boat where they haul in a net full of bottles of water - then show a couple of guys standing by a giant bottle getting their picture taken - something about making fresh water from salt water.
But the commercial is dumb. IMO of course.

I just saw one last night that I loved:

A husband and wife pull up to the drive through window of a fast food joint.

Husband orders first : "I'll have the love handles with a double chin and a blubber belly."

Then the wife orders : "And I'll have a dimple-butt with a side order of thunder thighs."

I just loved the way they dead-panned their lines. Very clever and funny.
