"Lost loves"

I rediscovered a lost love of mine last night. It's amazing the things you forget you loved.

My sister and recently did a swap of books and DVDs. One of the DVDs she had in my bag was the first season of an old Steven Bochco show, Murder One.

I remember watching this show when it was first shown on ABC in 1995. At the time, it was a terrifically good show but I don't think it was highly watched. The first season I remember as mesmerizing, but the second season was a complete fizzle and I lost interest in it. It may have run one other season after that. But that first season was kind of like a shooting star.

Well, I started watching it last night. And was floored again by how well done it was. And the actors! Daniel Benzali, Anthony LaPaglia, Gregory Itzin, Mary McCormack, Patricia Clarkson, Dylan Baker, Kevin Tighe, Barbara Bosson, Jason Gedrick...and, deliciously evil, Stanley Tucci. I've been sucked right back in.

So...have you ever rediscovered something you forgot you absolutely loved? And felt that delicious shiver of excitement, almost like you know a secret that no one else does? Tell me about it!

Water slides.

Just love them but always forget until I go on one again. At 35 I feel like a kid on one again.

Speaking of waterslides, when's the baby due?

Murder One! All right! I did love that show.

I absolutely loved My So-Called Life. I was so sad when they finally canceled it.

I too loved Murder One, I had forgotten about that.

I just recently re-watched Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Oh my Gawd, that brought back memories.

Fellini Films.

"Amarcord" was the first foreign film I ever watched when I was a wee teen, and it started me on the road to loving foreign films. I just re-watched it recently and I'm just amazed that I still find it totally entertaining and rather brilliant.

When I first read the thread title, I thought "Wow, Geg has rediscovered another HS flame. How many more does she have to go?!!?"

I'm in the process of re-reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabablon...Jamie Fraser is my all time favorite hero. (in a book)

I *heart* Outlander.

I even have The Outlandish Companion.

I have two books by her that I don't own, and that's one of them...is it informative?

It's really great for those horrible Scot pronunciations.

Also for keeping characters straight (which, after having read the series about ten times now, I don't really need anymore).

And has a lot of cool websites for fans.

And I especially like how, since I am totally obsessive, I have the full set of all Outlander books.

The only one I don't have is the new one...snow on ashes...I even read another book just because it mentioned the two characters of this series..how pathetic is that?

A Breath of Snow and Ashes ties things up quite nicely.

Though I'd like to have seen how they fared through the Revolution.

Oooops. That might have been a spoiler.
